Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan is adamant his team isn't soft ... and he's telling anyone who disagrees with him to shove that notion "right up your ass!"

Callahan went on a two-minute diatribe about his squad during a testy meeting with reporters Wednesday afternoon ... insisting the guys in his locker room are nothing but "tough f***ers."

He said repeatedly he thinks his team plays hard ... and just because the Titans are 3-11 this season doesn't mean they won't hit their opponents in the mouth over and over again on Sundays.

Apparently there is a place in this world where a Chicago Bear and a Green Bay Packer legend can happily coexist ... 'cause Adrian Colbert said this week a recent trip to Central America with Aaron Rodgers changed his life.

File this under the easiest decision ever ... the Iowa Hawkeyes announced they will retire Caitlin Clark's iconic number 22 jersey next year!

The school dropped the announcement Wednesday, saying the ceremony will take place during the team's matchup against USC on February 2 (2/2), playing off the number worn by Clark during her four years at IU.

"I'm forever proud to be a Hawkeye and Iowa holds a special place in my heart that is bigger than just basketball," Clark said in a statement. "It means the world to me to receive this honor and to celebrate it with my family, friends and alumni."

A trio of debt collectors is trying to force Michael Vick into bankruptcy in an effort to obtain a huge sum of cash they say the ex-NFL star owes them -- but an attorney for Vick is slamming the move, calling it "frivolous."

Court documents, obtained by TMZ Sports, show the three creditors -- Gerald Lee Craig, Eduardo De Arkos and Kathleen Safreed -- filed involuntary Chapter 7 bankruptcy petitions against Vick and his wife, Kijafa, on Monday in Florida.

The plaintiffs say they have a judgment of $509,652.42 against the Vicks -- stemming from a 2018 loan they say the couple never paid off.
