Fernando Valenzuela's cause of death has been revealed -- the Los Angeles Dodgers legend died of septic shock.
TMZ Sports has obtained the 1981 World Series champion's death certificate ... which listed decompensated alcoholic cirrhosis and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis cirrhosis as underlying causes.
The medical examiner also suspects Valenzuela suffered from Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease ... a rare brain disorder.
Francisco Lindor Touches Down In L.A. ... Ready To Recruit Juan Soto?!?
Francisco Lindor has arrived in Los Angeles ... and given Mets boss Steve Cohen is slated to meet with Juan Soto in Southern California this week -- it sure appears the NY shortstop is now in town to help recruit the star free agent.
The 30-year-old NL MVP finalist flew in to LAX on Sunday evening ... just a few days after multiple reports stated Cohen, Soto and Soto's super agent, Scott Boras, would sit down in the L.A.-area to talk about a potential future with the Mets.
Lindor was mum with a photographer at the airport on whether or not he would be a part of this week's efforts to get Soto in the Blue and Orange ... but he did say he wished "nothing but the best" for the outfielder.

Two people directly connected to Jessica Simpson have spoken with 2 divorce lawyers in the last 2 months ... specifically about Jessica's marriage to Eric Johnson ... TMZ has learned.
Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... late last month someone close to Jessica went to a Los Angeles divorce attorney and said Jessica was unhappy in her marriage and wanted to arrange a meeting with the attorney and Simpson. We do not know if this was done at Jessica's behest, but we're told the message to the lawyer was clear. We're also told up to this point Jessica has not made contact with the lawyer.
And, we've learned someone on Jessica's team made contact with another Los Angeles divorce lawyer regarding matters that were divorce-related. Again, so far we're told there has been no follow-through.

Joe Rogan just spilled some serious next-level insider info ... saying Elon Musk knew hours before the official results dropped that Donald Trump had already won the election.
On his podcast, Rogan revealed Musk had supposedly developed a custom app on his phone that gave him real-time vote counts -- so he basically knew Trump had won 4 hours before anyone else called it.
Rogan wasn't entirely claiming it as fact ... he said the info came from Dana White, who told him Elon had said, "I'm leaving. It's over. Donald won" -- all while the results were still rolling in. Dana and Elon were both hanging out with Trump at Mar-a-Lago in Florida on the night of the election.
Jaxon Tippet Fitness Influencer Dead At 30 ... After Heart Attack
Fitness influencer Jaxon Tippet -- who amassed a large online following -- tragically passed away this week while on vacation. He just turned 30 years old last month.
Tippet's family made the sad announcement on his Instagram page ... saying the Australian fitness coach, who also modeled, died on November 10 while visiting Turkey.
Tippet's family says they've been told he died from a heart attack.
Marco Angulo Rising MLS Star Dead At 22 From Car Crash Injuries
Marco Angulo -- an up-and-coming midfielder in the MLS -- has passed away from injuries he suffered in a car crash in his home country of Ecuador last month.
Angulo's club, FC Cincinnati, addressed the heartbreaking news on Tuesday ... saying, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of Marco -- a husband and father, a brother and son, a friend and teammate."
"He was a joyful, kind young man who lit up every room he entered. Our entire club grieves this tragedy, and we are thinking of and praying for his family."

Nate Boyer, U.S. Army Green Beret turned NFL player, is coming to the defense of Michael Strahan ... after the Pro Football Hall of Famer was accused of disrespecting the American Flag during a Veterans Day celebration -- something the Special Operator says is nonsense!
TMZ Sports talked to Boyer Monday night ... and asked the 43-year-old retired soldier and football player for his thoughts on Strahan, and the criticism.
