Rose, Major League Baseball's hit king, passed away earlier today at his home in Las Vegas ... where he was found by a family member.

The artist tells us she just recently came up with the idea for the footwear after leaving her tech consulting job ... and after she was able to make some pairs for the wives of MLB All-Stars Aaron Nola and Will Smith earlier this season, she reached out to Dunne to see if the LSU gymnast would want some of her own to cheer on her man.

Sources familiar with the couple tell TMZ … Taylor and Travis remain a couple, even though she hasn't been able to make it to his last two games in Atlanta and Los Angeles.
Taylor was at Travis' first two games this year, both in Kansas City, but she's been MIA since ... including a game at SoFi Stadium, where she had a bunch of concerts last year.

11:57 AM PT -- A spokesperson from the Arizona Department of Public Safety tells TMZ Sports ... the fracas all began after two women pushed each other.
"One female fell down," the rep said. "A male friend ran after the suspect ... brushing by other males before a fight ensued."
The spokesperson added three men were ultimately arrested for misdemeanor assault.
Several Arizona Cardinals fans whaled on each other in the stands of the team's game Sunday afternoon ... and things turned so violent -- one guy actually left the area leaking blood.

"It's really hard to believe," he said as he held back tears. "It's hard for us to be without [Dikembe Mutombo]. You have no idea what Dikembe Mutombo meant to me. It's a tough one."

Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo -- one of the greatest defensive basketball players ever -- has died after a battle with brain cancer. He was 58 years old.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver released a statement announcing Mutombo's passing ... saying, "Dikembe Mutombo was simply larger than life. On the court, he was one of the greatest shot blockers and defensive players in the history of the NBA."
"Off the floor, he poured his heart and soul into helping others."
