Jaylen Brown got an up-close view of Bronny James on Monday night ... and the Celtics star's first assessment of LeBron's son did not appear to be a glowing one.

The NBA Finals MVP had courtside seats for Bronny's Summer League matchup against Boston at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas ... and at one point during the contest, he leaned over and seemed to give his new girlfriend, WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick, a less-than-favorable review of the 19-year-old's game.

"I don't think Bronny is a pro," he said, according to online lip readers.

Retired U.S. Secret Service Agent David Hoffmann, a 2x All-American football star, is weighing in on whether his former agency dropped the ball during the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, saying the tragedy never should've happened.

"I'll tell you it's very frustrating," Hoffmann told Babcock on the "TMZ Sports" TV show (airs nightly on FS1) ... "it just really pisses you off that this happened."

The longtime USSS special agent added ... "Sometimes everybody says 'things happen,' but this is something that just can't happen. This is inexcusable. And it's something that everybody needs to take a real hard dive at and look into this."

Cameron Brink is proving she's a star both on and off the court ... 'cause the WNBA rookie just landed the cover of a fashion magazine!!

The L.A. Sparks forward dropped the major news on Monday ... announcing she recently posed for the Flaunt publication's "Gold Standard" issue. The 22-year-old, who tore her ACL just about a month ago, took part in the shoot weeks before the unfortunate injury happened.

Brink rocked multiple outfits for the photoshoot -- including one featuring Skims, which she's posed for in the past -- and also sat down for a quick Q&A. When asked how she deals with all the business opportunities that come with being a pro, she said her time at Stanford got her ready for the next level.

Ex-UFC star and former American sniper Tim Kennedy says many people need to answer for the disaster that was the Trump shooting ... and he thinks folks need to lose their jobs.

Tim -- who was once a U.S. Army Special Forces sniper -- tells TMZ he believes the training of those immediately around Trump during the Pennsylvania rally Saturday was most definitely not up to par for protecting him against the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks.

He says the site survey team was supposed to identify any locations that could pose a threat to Trump, which he believes they utterly failed to do ... and now, he thinks key people at the Secret Service and beyond should have to pay for it with their careers.

Dave Portnoy says he's lucky to be alive after his most recent boat outing ... claiming he made a critical mistake that could've resulted in tragedy -- but luckily, the U.S. Coast Guard came through and saved the day.

The Barstool Sports founder detailed the whole incident on Monday ... saying he took his mom out on a ride. Nice gesture, right?? Well, when it came time to return to land, Portnoy said he unhooked the vessel from the buoys before turning on the engine ... and as luck would have it, the boat was totally dead.

Richard Simmons' housekeeper tried to get him to a doctor after he fell in his bathroom, but Richard pushed it off, because he just wanted to stay home for his birthday ... TMZ has learned.

As we reported, Richard fell Friday evening at home, in a bathroom ... and according to law enforcement sources, when his housekeeper came to help him up, she implored Richard to seek medical attention that night.

We're told Richard had described feeling dizzy before the fall, but he rejected the housekeeper's suggestion about seeing a doctor ... telling her maybe he'd go Saturday, but particularly didn't want to go that night as it had been his 76th birthday. So, she helped him back to bed, and that was that.

Donald Trump might as well be the next recipient of the UFC's "BMF" belt ... 'cause Dana White gushed over No. 45's handling of this weekend's assassination attempt -- calling his close friend the "ultimate American badass."

The UFC honcho joined "The Pat McAfee Show" on Monday to share his reaction to Saturday's rally shooting in Butler, PA ... and he said he was "literally blown away" by how The Donald responded after nearly losing his life at the hands of Thomas Matthew Crooks.

"This guy is almost 80 years old," White said minutes ago. "The guy tried to blow his head off. And to have the reaction that he did when he got up, this guy has been a friend of mine for 25 years, one of the greatest human beings I've ever met. He's an unbelievable friend, and he's forever now the ultimate American badass."

Terrell Davis was placed in handcuffs and taken off an airplane following an incident with a flight attendant over the weekend ... but the Denver Broncos legend is adamant he did nothing wrong.

The scene unfolded after Davis said he and his family boarded a United Airlines flight from Denver to Orange County on Saturday.

The two-time Super Bowl champion said in an Instagram post on Monday that his son had asked a flight attendant for a cup of ice during drink service ... but when the steward didn't respond to the request, Davis says he leaned over and calmly tapped the man's arm to get his attention.

"I look forward to resolving this dispute through the appropriate process and am confident that justice will prevail," Engel said in a statement obtained by TMZ Sports.

"Making salacious and defamatory statements to the media in order to harm my family and I has only strengthened my resolve to ensure that the truth will triumph."

Nate Diaz says he was promised $10 million for his fight with Jorge Masvidal ... but he claims he never got 90% of the cash -- and now, he's suing to get money he says he rightly deserves!
