Donald Trump's rant about the "wonderful" Hannibal Lecter isn't sitting well with one of the guys who helped make "The Silence of the Lambs," and he's taking a bite out of DT's rhetoric.

Edward Saxon -- part of the Oscar-winning trio that produced the film -- tells TMZ ... he has a pretty good idea why Trump might be so eager to split some fava beans and a nice Chianti with old Hannibal the Cannibal.

He says, "My guess is, Letcer feels like a kindred spirit. Part of it may be aspirational in that Lecter is brilliant and is able to see into people’s motivations and control them."

Jennifer Lawrence is jabbing at Vice President Mike Pence over his views on the LGBTQ community, but did say he should take home an award ... although this isn't one for the mantle.

The Oscar-winning actress stepped up to a podium at the GLAAD Media Awards to announce that country music star Orville Peck was this year's winner of the Vito Russo Award -- but, she had to get off a few jokes first ... one aimed directly at Pence's stance on conversion therapy for LGBTQ youth.

Eva Longoria's getting political ... organizing an event aimed at mobilizing Arizona's Latina vote for the Biden-Harris campaign -- and, focusing on an old enemy to do it.

The Biden-Harris campaign tells TMZ ... the actress-director's holding an event in Phoenix on Monday where she plans on speaking to moms and young Latinas about the importance of voting -- specifically, voting for JB and KH to keep the White House.

We're told the event will place a particular emphasis on stopping Donald Trump, who the campaign says has demonized Latinos throughout his political career and is pursuing an agenda that would be particularly devastating for Latinas and their families.

The Republican nominee for president hit New Jersey Saturday for a rally -- the first he's had in a few weeks 'cause he's dealing with his criminal trial in NYC -- and, he started discussing immigration ... specifically the kind of people who immigrate.

Jerry Seinfeld's commencement speech got off to a rocky start ... 'cause dozens of people walked out during his introduction -- with many holding Palestinian flags.

The actor-comedian -- who is Jewish and has supported Israel throughout its war against Hamas -- was set to give the commencement address at Duke University when a whole bunch of people jumped up and walked out.

Check out the clip ... it's a sizable group of students who leave the address, and they're met with a mixture of cheers and jeers as they leave. So, pretty mixed reaction we'd say.

Of course, everyone has heard Donald Trump speak a gazillion times over the decades, but the voice of his youngest son, Barron, has always been a mystery ... until now!

The 18-year-old was recently captured on video talking to a guest as they attended a formal event in a ballroom at his dad's Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

Check out the short clip ... Barron, looking dapper in a suit, is heard saying to the man, "Impressed with this," before shaking his hand. Barron then said something else, but his words were inaudible, although you can make out his deep voice.

A new report from the New York Times came out Wednesday citing a 2012 deposition from RFK's divorce proceedings when Kennedy said he once feared he'd developed a serious illness after a brain scan showed a shadow.

In the deposition, RFK said he even scheduled a brain surgery with the same doctor who treated his uncle, Ted Kennedy, before his death from brain cancer in 2009. However, Robert got a second opinion ... and, he says this new doc told him he thought he had a parasite.

The Secret Service is investigating a fatal crash -- a car slamming into a White House barrier sent agents and D.C. police scrambling.

The action went down late Saturday night, around 10:45, as a speeding car collided with one of the outer perimeter gates surrounding the White House grounds.

Metropolitan PD officers responded, but Secret Service agents were also immediately on the scene, surrounding the silver sedan ... which smashed head-on into the concrete barrier.

A Black pro-Palestine protester was called "Lizzo" by a group of white counter-protesters during a heated faceoff this week ... and she received racist taunts likening her to a monkey.

The ugly scene went down Thursday at the University of Mississippi -- with both pro-Palestine and pro-Israel factions holding dueling protests right there on the campus, which got heated when a group of bros zeroed in on a Black female on the Palestine side of things.

She was standing there all alone and filming them ... and the men, most of whom were white, could be heard repeatedly insulting her weight -- invoking Lizzo's name to get the point across ... all while calling her a "bitch" and other explicit insults.

President Biden's got a nice chunk o' change for his campaign war chest after visiting Los Angeles, but it did the opposite for the city ... draining millions from the budget.

According to documents, obtained by TMZ, additional LAPD staffing costs to keep POTUS secure during his December trip, cost L.A. just north of $2.6 million ... with much of it going toward the boots on the ground.

The biggest cost, by far, is the $1,833,818.07 paid out to regular police officers -- the cops who blocked off roads and provided security for events. The next biggest expense was salaries for sergeants and detective supervisors ... which totaled $540,720.22.
