'Exorcist: Believer' Sluggish Box Office Start ... After $400M Investment

The new 'Exorcist' movie isn't raking in as much dough as its parent studio would like -- which isn't great news considering almost half a billion dollars was spent to get it going.

Here's the deal ... the first-day box office numbers for David Gordon Green's 'Exorcist: Believer' are in -- and they're underwhelming to say the least ... just $11.9 million from Friday's haul, which includes about $2.8 million in Thursday previews.

At this pace, the projection for the 3-day weekend is about $28 million domestically ... which is lower than what the initial estimates had this horror flick making, about $30-$35 million.

Of course, when the Taylor Swift movie comes out next week ... it's almost sure to wipe 'Exorcist: Believer' completely off the map -- so, big picture, this latest installment/reboot doesn't appear to be on track for major gains ... and that's troubling for Universal.

The reason ... the studio spent a fortune to attain the rights to the 'Exorcist' franchise -- upwards of $400 million -- and they're planning on cranking out 2 more sequels after this. Despite poor reviews and an underwhelming box office, you can bet they're gonna chug right along and crap those out in the next few years -- they spent way too much $$$ not to.

Adding insult to injury, this new requel is getting panned by critics. It's got a 23% RT score.

Lindsay Lohan Shoots Apparent 'Mean Girls' Ad With Movie's Costars

Lindsay Lohan apparently reprised her famous role from the film, "Mean Girls," but this time it was for an upcoming Pepsi ad.

The actress -- and new mom -- seemingly shot the ad with Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert, both of whom were Lindsay's costars in the 2004 hit movie.

Photos obtained by TMZ show the women together on set in Los Angeles Friday -- and they all were relaxed and smiling.

Lindsay was holding a pocketbook labeled, "Plastic Clubs Member, Est. 2004," which was the name of the "Mean Girls" group in the flick. The bag also featured their notable tagline, “On Wednesdays, we wear pink.”

Seyfried and Chabert were posing for snapshots in a convertible car and on a football field.

For anyone who doesn't know, "Mean Girls" was a massive success at the box office and starred Lindsay as Cady Heron, Amanda as Karen Smith and Lacey as Gretchen Wieners. The plot follows Cady as she moves to suburban Illinois and enrolls in a public high school, where she joins a "Mean Girls" clique.

Meanwhile, Lindsay had her first baby with husband Bader Shammas in July. The couple named the boy, Luai.

Corey Feldman Famous Jacket's Been Found ... After Claiming It Was Stolen

Corey Feldman can relax ... he's getting back his studded leather jacket from "Dream a Little Dream" -- just a couple days after he said it was stolen, which now seems like a slight overreaction.

The manager for the 'Goonies' star tells TMZ ... an employee at the New Jersey restaurant where Corey was performing live music apparently found the jacket in a bathroom, and locked it in an office.

Remember, Corey hopped on social media Wednesday and franticly posted a thread in ALL CAPS about his coveted jacket being stolen from backstage, and wondered who would have the audacity to take such a beloved item from his wardrobe.

Now it sounds like Corey was seriously jumping the gun with his assumption someone walked off with it, and his manager says they're hoping to pick up the jacket today.

Of course, one reason Corey might have assumed the worst is that his jacket was legitimately stolen once before in L.A., only for it to pop up years later at a Boston flea market and make its way back to Corey.

This time, Corey lost the jacket during his Sunday gig at Homestead Bar & Kitchen in Morristown, NJ. A rep from the bar confirmed the jacket was found in the very bathroom where Corey changed ... so, no big mystery on how it ended up there.

The jacket, which Corey wore in "The 'Burbs" and "Married With Children," holds sentimental value for him ... he says it's a reminder of his late friend, actor Corey Haim.

No word if Corey's going to dish out the $1,000 reward he offered for info on the jacket's whereabouts.

Corey Feldman My Famous Jacket's Been Jacked Again!!!

Corey Feldman says his studded leather jacket from "Dream a Little Dream" was stolen during a recent gig ... again ... and the former child star is hellbent on getting it back.

The "Goonies" star says he was performing Sunday in New Jersey when someone went backstage and swiped the jacket right from under his nose.

Corey says he's furious someone would have the audacity to steal what he considers a "sacred artifact from his life" ... and he says he's feeling sad and hurt, in part because it reminds him of his late friend, actor Corey Haim.

It's the second time this wardrobe item's gone missing ... as we reported, it was stolen in 2011 while Corey was hanging out at the House of Blues in L.A., only for it to resurface years later at a Boston flea market, and ultimately make its way back to Corey.

This time, Corey says it was stolen from Homestead Bar & Kitchen in Morristown, NJ ... and he's offering a $1,000 reward for any info about the incident or the jacket's whereabouts.

Corey's worn it in movies like "Dream a Little Dream" and "The 'Burbs" ... as well as for a guest appearance on "Married With Children," and he says he's worn it onstage at every one of his performances ever since.

Now, it sounds like Corey will be without the jacket at his next gig ... and he says it's "truly unfortunate" fans will no longer get to "experience seeing this piece of cinematic history."

Kevin Spacey Rushed To Hospital ... Fear Of Heart Attack

Kevin Spacey feared he could be suffering a very serious medical emergency overseas ... rushing to the hospital after having symptoms of a heart attack.

Spacey spoke about the health scare in Uzbekistan at the Tashkent International Film Festival during its closing ceremony Monday night ... saying his entire arm went numb for about 8 seconds while taking a tour of the Afrasiyab Museum in the city of Samarkand earlier in the day.

SPACEY'S REVELATION

Fearing he was having a heart attack, Kevin says he raced to the hospital.

Lucky for Kevin, and festival organizers, he ended up being fine -- and was able to attend the festival and give a speech later that night.

Spacey said that frightening ordeal made him appreciate life a lot more ... and congratulated the filmmakers at the festival for all the hard work they do to tell their stories. He also applauded the festival for providing opportunities for upcoming storytellers to grow.

As you know, Spacey has been out of the Hollywood limelight since being accused and eventually cleared of sexually assaulting multiple men. The former "House of Cards" star said earlier this week his best roles were still to come, announcing his comeback in the capital of Tashkent over the weekend.

TMZ.com

Tyler Mane, famous for playing Michael Myers on the big screen, is an expert on prop knives ... and despite their dull edges, he says they can still hurt someone like Britney Spears.

We got the "Halloween" star at LAX and our photog asked him to weigh in on Britney's knife dancing controversy ... playing him a clip of her clanking knives together, which she insists are just props.

092923_britney_spears_knives_kal 9/28/23
PLEASE ... THEY'RE PROPS!!!

Tyler says Britney could be wielding prop knives, based on the sounds they're making, and he tells us how they're different from real knives ... basically, prop knives have dull edges and a dulled tip.

Remember ... this guy knows his stuff, he's used tons of real and prop knives on the set of 2 movies as notorious serial killer Michael Myers.

Waiting for your permission to load TikTok Post.

But, Tyler's not saying prop knives are inherently safe ... warning they still pose a danger if the person wielding them isn't careful.

Britney's fans aren't buying her prop knife explanation ... because she's also on video with a bandage on her arm and a cut on her leg ... and cops went to her house to do a welfare check, which didn't go over so well with Britney.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Bottom line from Tyler ... Britney's gotta know what she's doing if she's going to play with knives, prop or not.

Leonardo DiCaprio 'Titanic' Outfit Going Up For Sale

Leonardo DiCaprio's character in "Titanic" didn't have much to his name when he got on the ship ... and now Jack Dawson's outfit is expected to sell for way over six figures.

The costume Leo wore in James Cameron's classic is going up for auction next month, with the winning bid predicted to fall somewhere between $115,000 and $230,000.

Remember ... Jack spent most of the film dressed in corduroy pants, overalls, a button-down long-sleeve shirt and a vest.

The garments include custom labels reading "MR: LEONARDO DICAPRIO" and "DATE: AUGUST '96."

Leo's "Titanic" costume is part of Propstore's upcoming auction in London ... where $13.8 million in film and TV memorabilia is expected to be sold off.

Other items of note include a light-up C-3PO head from "Star Wars: A New Hope" ... which the auction house believes will go for $1.15 million.

Michael Keaton's batsuit from 1989's "Batman" is also on the auction block ... along with Jack Sparrow's stunt costume from "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," Tom Hanks' sneakers from "Forrest Gump" and a Captain America shield from "Captain America: The First Avenger."

The auction is scheduled for Nov. 9 to 12 in London.

'Saw X' Director Says Cops Were Called ... Over Gory Editing Sesh

The new 'Saw' movie is apparently a bloody nightmare -- so much so, that someone called the cops while they were putting the film together in post-production ... so says the director.

Kevin Greutert told the harrowing tale to NME ... saying the key editor for 'Saw X,' Steve Forn, got paid a visit by the 5-0 while he was splicing up the film -- particularly, during sound design for a really gruesome scene ... where a character gets their eyes sucked out.

Here's how KG put it ... "There was a knock at the door. We have the doorbell [camera] video of the police walking up, [Forn answering the door] and the police saying, 'The neighbours [have been] calling and saying someone’s being tortured to death in here.'"

Forn apparently replied, "'Actually, I’m just working on a movie… You can come in and see it if you want?'" The police declined ... just wanting to make sure everything was kosher.

Greutert adds, "It’s a pretty funny story ... Plus Steve is such a mild mannered guy. I can only imagine the look on his face when he realised what was happening!"

Hopefully that's enough to make people realize ... this latest 'Saw' installment is supposed to be one of the most brutal ones yet, not to mention the best overall to come along in years.

The reviews for 'Saw X' have been glowing ... and some say it's a true return to form.

Plus, with Tobin Bell back in the driver's seat as the titular Jigsaw -- fans are sure to get their horror fix and then some. 'Saw X' is in theaters now ... just in time for spooky season.

Beyoncé Next to Get AMC Concert Movie Announcement Soon!!!

Taylor Swift's concert movie isn't even out yet, but it sounds like movie theater honchos are already gearing up for another one with a big name ... and that would be Beyoncé.

Deadline reports that Queen Bey is next in line for a documentary film that captures her "Renaissance" world tour -- and that a joint announcement is likely to occur as early as Sunday alongside AMC ... which is the movie theater house that'll partner with her for this.

As for a release date ... word is Dec. 1, and Deadline says they're choosing that to capitalize on the post-Thanksgiving weekend dead week and to have 2023 go out with a bang. At this point, it's unclear if this would only be a domestic release or an international one.

The outlet also says that the show(s) of hers that are going to be featured in the flick are likely to be her two Houston concerts last week ... which were supposedly filmed.

We haven't seen evidence of cameras set up at those shows, but there've been rumblings dating back to April that Bey would be doing something like this in her hometown.

Of course, this news comes on the heels of Taylor's "Eras" movie expanding to a worldwide release after a massive amount of demand from ticket-buyers here in North America. AMC has said it's already on pace to rake in at least $100 million during its opening weekend.

Considering how big of a fan base Beyoncé has ... it'll be interesting to see if they snap up as many tickets as the Swifties have so far. And in terms of AMC -- truly a smart move.

People aren't flocking to theaters for movies anymore like they used to ... but they might come running for filmed concerts of their favorite artists. So far, that's a winning formula.

Beyhive, get ready!

Gambon was 82.

Shrek's Swamp Perfect Re-Creation On Airbnb ... Sleep Like An Ogre!

Any huge fans of "Shrek" will have the opportunity to live like an ogre for a couple of nights ... because his iconic swamp home has been recreated IRL, and it's going live on Airbnb.

The moss-covered home is located in the hills of the Scottish Highlands and is a picture-perfect replica of the one from the animated flicks -- the listing is "hosted" by Donkey and some lucky fans will be able to spend 2 nights at the swampy villa at the end of October.

Visitors will be able to kick up their hooves in the secluded pad, relax in the ambiance of "earwax candlelight," and in the morning, they'll be eating waffles -- just like Donkey would've wanted.

It even has Shrek's outhouse directly next to the main building ... so if you're inclined, you could recreate the iconic scene from the beginning of the 2001 film.

People wanting to relive their childhood can request to book Shrek's Swamp beginning October 13 for FREE. In honor of this rare opportunity, Airbnb is also making a donation to HopScotch Children's Charity, which gives back to some of Scotland's disadvantaged children.

'Barbie' Has Adults Buying New Dolls ... For Emotional Support

Margot Robbie and the folks behind "Barbie" didn't just rack up a ton of dough in theaters -- they're making Mattel money too ... thanks to adults who are feeling nostalgic and needy.

There's been this trend going around on TikTok that sees grown men and women filming themselves hitting up their local toy aisles and picking out new Barbie dolls for themselves ... all for the sake of fulfilling their inner child and achieving emotional support.

Waiting for your permission to load TikTok Post.

It's a whole thing now, apparently ... in the wake of the movie coming out this summer, some people are buying themselves the dolls they never had -- that or gifting them to loved ones (like parents) who might've not had such toys growing up as kids.

A psychology professor, Kristin Flora, tells CNN this is a good thing ... as grown folks now feel comfortable not only reconnecting to their childhood -- but also sharing that, and it seems to be well-received on social media. Obviously, this lends itself to mental health, etc.

It's just further proof that the "Barbie" flick has truly impacted American culture this year ... and, regardless of the reason, it continues to positively affect bottom lines as well.

We already know it's made Warner Bros. a billion-plus dollars and with this apparent boom in doll purchases to boot ... Mattel's also probably smiling all the way to the bank. Plus, this seems to really make people happy in general.

So ... win-win-win.

RESPECT FOR RICHARD

Pauly Shore is determined to get Richard Simmons on board with his plans to produce and star in a biopic ... and he has a new plan to appeal to the reclusive fitness guru.

Pauly joined us Monday on "TMZ Live," and he told us he wants to get the director from the Elton John biopic, "Rocketman" involved ... so they can bring something real to Richard and appeal to his heart.

The way Paul envisions things shaking out ... Dexter Fletcher directs a 10-minute presentation they can take to Richard, so they can show him the biopic is not some joke, but an important story that needs to be told for Richard's legion of fans.

Problem is ... Richard's so far been unreceptive. As we first reported, RS doesn't want to get involved in Pauly's project and prefers to continue living his life in private, remaining out of the spotlight.

Pauly's not giving up so easily though, and sounds confident he can change Richard's mind.

Richard's been out of the public eye for years ... and last summer TMZ released "TMZ Investigates: What Really Happened to Richard Simmons" on FOX and Hulu, which drew a huge response and led to Richard posting a rare message to his fans.

Pauly's known Richard for decades -- so did his late mother, Comedy Store owner Mitzi Shore -- and he has an interesting theory about what's behind Richard's reclusiveness.

COMING TO TERMS
NBC

Bruce Willis's wife, Emma Heming, just revealed how severe her husband's condition is as it pertains to his dementia ... and it sounds worse than what people might've realized.

Emma went on 'Today' Monday morning to discuss Bruce's diagnosis at length -- and she was accompanied by a professional in the field who was there to provide more context on what exactly BW is battling with frontotemporal dementia ... his specific condition.

HARD ON THE WHOLE FAMILY
NBC

This is a tough watch, because the situation clearly weighs on Emma and their 2 young daughters together ... something she describes in detail in this heart-wrenching interview.

One standout from her remarks comes when Hoda Kotb asks her, point blank, if Bruce is aware of what's going on with him ... and the answer is telling. Emma says it's "hard to know."

Emma also explains Bruce has lost the ability to make decisions for himself, as opposed to outright memory loss -- although, it sounds like that too might be affected.

In any case, it's evident Emma is now overseeing his well-being. She says she doesn't consider herself his caretaker now, but a "care partner."

When it comes to their kids ... Emma says she's been honest with them on the science of what's happening to their dad.

As we reported ... Bruce's family announced last year that he'd be stepping away from acting, as it had become apparent his health was deteriorating and he needed help.

Of course, he has a huge family that's stepped up big time during this whole thing -- including his ex, Demi Moore, and all of his adult children too. And, while Bruce has stepped out of the spotlight, he continues to surface in public ... seemingly always in good spirits.

Michael Caine Scoffs at Intimacy Coordinators ... Just Fake Bang & Go!!!

Michael Caine doesn't get why actors need extra help navigating sex scenes in the 21st century -- reminiscing on the old days when ... thespians just faked orgasms like that. 🫰

The knighted actor spilled his unconventional thoughts to the Daily Mail this weekend -- this during an interview in which they were discussing his latest flick "The Great Escaper," which MC says may well be his last movie at his ripe old age.

As they chatted, the topic of #MeToo came up ... specifically as it pertains to intimacy coordinators -- a role on sets that really grew and became mainstream post-2016.

Here's what Mikey had to say about it ... "Really? Seriously? What are they? We never had that in my day. Thank god I’m 90 and don’t play lovers anymore is all I can say."

He adds, "In my day you just did the love scene and got on with it without anyone interfering. It’s all changed." MC wasn't done just yet though ... he gave his opinion on political correctness at large, saying ... "[I]t’s dull. Not being able to speak your mind and not being able to call anyone 'darling.'"

With that said, Michael also says he likes learning from friends who are younger than him.

It's an interesting sentiment -- if not a little outdated. Fact is, modern-day actors have been singing the praises of intimacy coordinators for years now ... saying they're incredibly helpful in making the cast and crew more comfortable, not to mention ensuring safety on set.

Funny enough ... Sir Kane hasn't really been in any explicit sex scenes in his career, so it's a little weird that he's boasting about times of old. Sure, there was "Alfie" -- but the dude never simulated the deed in that flick ... just a lot implied lovin' and aftermath scenes. 😅
