Backstreet Boys singer Brian Littrellcould barely keep it together as he stood outside the doors during his 22-year-old son Baylee's audition for "American Idol" on Sunday night's show.
Brian got visibly emotional as he told cameras how "proud" he is of his son during the Season 23 premiere of the singing competition, explaining ... "He's obviously grown up in the business and I think he's cut out for it."
The proud papa was also thrilled to join his son in his audition at judge Luke Bryan's request. They seamlessly harmonized to the chorus of Baylee's original song "Waiting on Myself to Die" ... and Brian choked up again as Baylee was praised by all three judges -- including Lionel Richie and Carrie Underwood.
Everybody, yeah!!! Backstreet’s back -- again -- and this time, they’re reuniting to take over Vegas!
The "Larger Than Life" news dropped Wednesday … Kevin, AJ, Nick, Howie and Brian are hitting the stage at the Sphere for nine dates in July to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their hit album "Millennium" with an epic residency.

Flavor Flav's all about fighting the power, standing up to NBC security ... but, it seems they were just doing their jobs -- 'cause we're told he wasn't expected at the tree-lighting, and security booted him.
Here's the deal ... Flav took to X to air some grievances about NBC kicking him out of the Backstreet Boys dressing room at the the Rockefeller Center tree lighting ceremony Wednesday night -- despite all his work with them during the Olympics.
However, sources tell TMZ security had a very good reason to kick him out of the event ... 'cause he wasn't on the list of expected attendees.
Nick Carter made a dying fan's wish come true ... singing the Backstreet Boys' signature hit directly to her in a real tearjerker moment.
TMZ obtained the super touching video recorded in Frankfurt, Germany ... as the singer makes his way through the crowd, goes straight in to hug terminally ill Jenni Schmidt and then begins singing "I Want It That Way" -- just for her.
Jenni, whose last wish was made possible by an org named, Der Wünschewagen, was clearly over the moon during Nick's "Who I Am" world tour last Sunday.
The Backstreet Boys are giving people ideas on how to spend Cinco de Mayo ... showing fans how the guys celebrate -- with a vid of Howie Dorough slamming shots.
The band's official account posted the video Sunday morning ... and, it follows HD's drinking odyssey as he fires down tequila shot after tequila shot at Howie's Guac and Shots.
And, man ... Howie really knows how to hold his liquor -- downing at least eight shots in the sweltering Mexico heat while apparently MCing one of the events.

Nick Carter's looks over the years are your one desiiiiire!
Here is a fresh-faced Nick posing at 14 years old for a Backstreet Boys photoshoot -- looking oh so bold with his bowl cut in NYC back in 1995 (left). This was just a few years before the boy-bander's hit song "I Want It That Way" became a worldwide banger!
And, nearly 3 decades later Mr. Carter -- who's celebrating his 44th birthday today -- recently snapped a sweet selfie showcasing those baby blues mid-flight!
Yes, his angles are still hittin' just right, but the question here is ...
Nick Carter is speaking out for the first time about the loss of his sister, Bobbie Jean ... something he thinks he'll never fully process.
The singer broke his silence Thursday on social media, saying, "It may take a lifetime to fully process the loss my family has endured over the years – most recently, with the sudden passing of our sister Bobbie Jean. I am completely heartbroken."
He goes on to thank everyone for their "love and kind words" ... adding, "We are reminded again that life is precious, fleeting and to cherish the time we have with the ones we love. I know she is finally at peace with God."
TMZ broke the story, Bobbie and Nick's mom, Jane, told us about the "sudden death" of her daughter last month -- asking for "a prayer for my precious eight-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother."
Remember, Bobbie Jean was found unresponsive in her Tampa, FL bathroom ... deputies learned she was on probation for cocaine possession, but her roommates said she had not used narcotics since being released from prison.
No drugs were found in her bedroom or bathroom, and there were no signs of foul play.
As you know, their brother Aaron was also found in his bathroom in 2022 after drowning in his bathtub. His autopsy revealed he became incapacitated due to the effects of pills and huffing before drowning.

Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign didn't deliver their "Vultures" album as promised last Friday, but fans won't have to wait much longer ... because they've revealed a new release date.
TMZ Hip Hop can confirm the new dynamic duo will release their album on December 31 a.k.a. New Year's Eve.
Kanye album delays aren't a new concept but this go around, Ye has a couple of hurdles to leap if he wants "Vultures" to come out in its original format.
TMZ Hip Hop broke the story ... Kanye failed to clear his Backstreet Boys-sampling single "Everybody" and may have to release an alternate version to cover his bases.
Nicki told her fans the song was a bit dated having been recorded years ago but most importantly, she didn't want to detract from her own "Pink Friday 2" album release success ... so she let Ye down gently.
With or without Nicki, Ye still managed to recruit Lil Baby, Freddie Gibbs, Offset, Quavo, Playboi Carti, Chris Brown, Future, Bad Bunny, Charlie Wilson, and many more.
Billboard was the first to report on Ye and Ty$'s new release date.
1:52 PM PT -- We should note ... the version Kanye West appears to have played in the Miami club featured other voices singing the chorus, so it's possible he can get away with it through a loophole.
Kanye West's new take on the Backstreet Boys' hit "Everybody" has been getting a ton of buzz, but there's one massive problem ... Ye never cleared it with the boy band.
Sources connected to BSB tell TMZ Kanye failed to get the collective OK from Nick, Kevin, Howie, Brian, A.J. and their team to use the 1997 classic.

In Kanye's version, you can hear the original song and chorus before Ty Dolla Sign takes over, singing the original lyrics from "Everybody."
Of course, not clearing the song creates an interesting challenge for Kanye considering he's supposed to release his album this week and the song is a listed track. Not to mention, he's played it out in public in Miami, promoted it on social media and pumped it through the speakers at his album listening event in Miami Monday night.
So by all counts ... it seemed like Kanye was planning to have it on his "Vultures" album.
We don't know if Kanye reached out and was denied usage of the track or whether he just never asked at all ... but either way, it ain't good for Ye.
Kanye's been the center of controversy for months, with his antisemitic remarks -- expressing his love for Hitler -- and dangerous social media rants. As we reported, Ye wore a black KKK-style hood Monday night at his public event.
Obviously, a lot of artists have distanced themselves from Kanye ... and it'll be interesting to see his chances of locking down clearance for additional tracks in the future.
