Chamique Holdsclaw Facing 65 Years in Prison for Alleged GF Attack
WNBA legend Chamique Holdsclaw has finally been hit with criminal charges for allegedly FIRING A GUN at her ex-GF's car last year ... and if convicted, she could spend 65 YEARS in prison.
We broke the story ... Holdsclaw -- considered one of the greatest players in WNBA history -- was arrested in Atlanta last year for a violent encounter with ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lacy.
According to the police report, 35-year-old Holdsclaw attacked Lacy's car with a baseball bat and then fired a gun inside the vehicle while Lacy sat in the driver's seat.
Now, Holdsclaw has officially been charged with 6 crimes -- including 2 counts of aggravated assault, 1 count of criminal damage in the first degree, 2 counts of criminal damage in the second degree, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
If convicted on all counts, Holdsclaw faces up to 65 years in state prison.
As for what provoked the alleged attack, sources close to Lacy tell us she believes Chamique was simply pissed that the two had broken up.

Chamique Holdsclaw is facing serious charges following her assault arrest this week, but she has at least one person in her corner ... reality TV star and marginal NBA player Lamar Odom.
Odom was out at Katsuya following the Clippers blowout victory over the Chicago Bulls last night, when he surprised our photog by saying he actually went to high school with the WNBA legend and offered up support for his old friend.
Holdsclaw is out after posting $100,000 bond. She is facing two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of damaging property and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
She is due back in court on November 30

The call was placed by the friend of then ex in question -- another WNBA player named Jennifer Lacy. The caller describes Holdsclaw as "mentally unstable."
According to the caller -- who sounds frantic and scared on the phone -- Chamique "tried to destroy" her ex's car ... then fled the scene.
As we reported, Chamique -- who allegedly fired a gun into Lacy's car as well -- was arrested yesterday after turning herself in to Atlanta police.

As we previously reported, Holdsclaw -- one of the greatest female basketball players of all time -- was arrested in Georgia yesterday after allegedly following her ex-GF's car ... and smashing the holy hell out of it.
Sources tell TMZ ... Lacy -- who's also a WNBA player -- believes Holdsclaw was holding a grudge because Lacy broke up with her last year.

WNBA legend Chamique Holdsclaw has been arrested after allegedly chasing down her ex-girlfriend's car, smashing it with a baseball bat, and firing a gun inside the window -- TMZ has learned.
According to law enforcement, Holdsclaw turned herself in to Atlanta police this afternoon and was arrested and booked for aggravated assault, and criminal damage to property. She's being held on $10,000 bail.
As we reported, an arrest warrant was issued for Holdsclaw after the alleged altercation with her ex Jennifer Lacy -- also a WNBA player -- on November 13th.
Lacy told cops Holdsclaw had followed her after she finished a workout Tuesday afternoon -- and when Holdsclaw finally caught up with Lacy, she attacked Lacy's car with a baseball bat. Lacy told police Holdsclaw then reached inside her car with a loaded gun and fired before fleeing the scene.
Police released photos of Lacy's smashed and shot up Range Rover -- showing shards of glass and a bullet shell on the backseat.
No one was injured.

According to the Atlanta Police Dept., a warrant has been issued for Holdsclaw's arrest over an incident that occurred just after noon on November 13.
Holdsclaw's ex-GF Jennifer Lacy -- who's also a WNBA player -- told police ... the drama began when she noticed Holdsclaw following her after she finished a workout at a local church.
According to the police report, obtained by TMZ, Lacy felt scared ... and called a friend who agreed to meet her at a nearby location.
Once Lacy arrived, she claims Holdsclaw got out of her car ... and approached Lacy's car while carrying a baseball bat.
Lacy told cops ... Holdsclaw began bashing in her car windows ... before pulling out a pistol, sticking the gun INSIDE THE CAR and firing a shot ... while Lacy was still in the vehicle.
After firing the shot, Holdsclaw allegedly fled the scene. When cops arrived, officers say they recovered a 9mm shell casing.
We reached out to Holdsclaw's rep -- so far, no comment.

WNBA STAR Accused of Smashing Ex-BF's Crotch
L.A. Sparks rookie Jantel Lavender -- the #5 overall pick in the 2011 WNBA Draft -- allegedly kneed her ex-BF in the junk so hard, his groin area was "throbbing from the pain" ... this according to legal docs obtained by TMZ.
According to court papers filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Lavender's ex Adam Ashley obtained a temporary restraining order against the 6'4" athlete two weeks ago ... claiming he's been "in hiding" ever since a July 5 altercation where Lavender allegedly grabbed a knife and threatened to kill him.
In the docs, Ashley also says Lavender "grabbed my head and slammed it into the wall. She grabbed my neck and was choking me."
Ashley claims it wasn't the first time Lavender got violent with him -- alleging she also tried to choke him during a fight in June. During that altercation, Ashley claims, "While I was grabbing for her hands she kneed me in the growing [SIC] area. My private area was throbbing from the pain."
Jantel has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from Ashley until the next court hearing.
After the judge granted the restraining order against Jantel -- she filed a request for a restraining order of her own against Adam ... claiming he attempted to punch her during a recent screaming match at her home.
The two are set to meet in court on August 30.

Sparks center Jantel Lavender filed the request for a restraining order last week -- asking a judge to keep her ex-boyfriend Adam Ashley at least 50 yards away from her and her family at all times ... including games.
According to the docs, Adam attended a recent Sparks game and followed Jantel home -- where the two got into a screaming match and Adam attempted to punch her.
The fight went on all night -- and Jantel claims she eventually called the police to kick Adam out. Jantel claims she had to call the police AGAIN the next day -- when Adam came back to continue his "angry rampage."
A judge will decide whether to grant the restraining order on September 6.
