Impact Wrestling star Tyrus says he knows exactly how to STOP SCHOOL SHOOTINGS ... put up walls, install metal detectors, and station armed security outside entrances.

TMZ Sports talked to Tyrus -- who's also a contributor on FOX News -- after the latest act of violence at a Maryland high school.

FYI -- "The Fixer" knows a thing or two about protecting people ... he used to be Snoop Dogg's bodyguard.

Tyrus' plan to stop the killings in schools? Walls, guards with guns, and metal detectors ... not teachers with handguns.

"We need walls around the schools. We need to protect our schools. You can't get 10 feet within our school unless you're supposed to be there."

"And if you're bringing a backpack in and it's not a clear backpack, you gotta get searched. That's the world we live in right now."

For anyone who thinks that's an overreaction ... Tyrus has a message for you.

"F**k you."

Martin spent less than 2 hours in jail before being booked and released.

Stevie Wonder thinks America needs to be more like Australia if it's serious about curbing mass shootings, and other acts of domestic terrorism like the package bomber in Austin.

We got Stevie leaving Mr. Chow Monday night in Bev Hills -- just a few hours before the latest bomb, bound for Austin, went off at a FedEx facility. So far, 2 people have been killed by 5 different exploding packages, and police suspect the bomber's targeting black people.

Stevie told us the people sending the packages are "no different than terrorists" ... and urged politicians to look Down Under for a plan to combat the violence.

Australia drastically changed its gun laws in 1996 after a mass shooting killed 35 people, and there haven't been any mass shootings since then.

Shaq Put Cops in Schools to Stop Shootings ... And Don't Ban Guns!

SHAQ'S TAKE
77 WABC

Shaq says he has the answer to stopping mass school shootings like the one we saw in Parkland -- placing armed police officers on school grounds.

"The quick fix ... the government should give law enforcement more money," Shaq said on WABC Radio's "Curtis and Cosby" show.

"Give more money, you recruit more people, and the guys that are not ready to go on the streets, you put them in front of the schools. You put 'em in front of the schools, you put 'em behind the schools, you put 'em inside the schools."

"I would like to see police officers in schools, inner cities, private schools."

Shaq says he got the idea from growing up on a military base -- where the cops they had on campus were very effective at stopping any violence that broke out.

What Shaq does NOT want the government to do is ban semiautomatic weapons -- like the one Nikolas Cruz used to gun down 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS -- arguing they'll become even more dangerous on the black market.

"There's a lot of those weapons already on the streets. So it's not like, if you say, 'OK, these weapons are banned,' people are gonna go, 'Oh man, let me turn it in.' That's definitely not going to happen."

FYI, Shaq's always been a huge supporter of cops ... and in 2016, was sworn in as a sheriff's deputy in Clayton County, Georgia.

The drug charge is a felony, for which he's been formally charged.

Nikolas Cruz Prosecutors Seeking Death Penalty

Nikolas Cruz could be put to death by the state of Florida, if he's found guilty for the slaying of the 17 victims in Parkland.

Prosecutors announced Tuesday they will be seeking the death penalty in the case. In new docs, they call the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School "especially heinous, atrocious or cruel" ... as well as "cold, calculated and premeditated."

Also in the docs, obtained by TMZ, prosecutors say they want to pick the mental health expert to evaluate Cruz -- that's presuming the defense raises his mental health as a mitigating factor in the crime.

Florida uses lethal injection to execute prisoners.

What wasn't so perfect, according to haters, was the timing of the gift. It came just 11 days after the horrific Parkland school shooting, and at the peak of a nationwide gun debate. Brielle's got strong feelings about that, too. Have a listen ... it makes perfect sense.

Heather Locklear Will Escape Felony Charge In Domestic Violence Arrest

2:30 PM PT -- The D.A. has charged Heather with four counts of misdemeanor battery on an officer. She's also facing one charge of resisting or obstructing an officer.

She was not charged with hitting her boyfriend, even though that's why she was originally arrested.

Heather Locklear has dodged a bullet, because TMZ has learned she will NOT be charged with felony domestic violence in connection with the fight she had with her boyfriend that landed her in jail.

We broke the story ... Heather was arrested last month after her brother called 911 saying Heather and her boyfriend were drunk and fighting. When cops arrived they observed injuries to the boyfriend and placed Heather under arrest for felony domestic violence.

During the arrest, Heather allegedly became combative and attacked a cop, kicking 1 in the shin and striking 2 others. We're told she will be charged with misdemeanor battery on a peace officer.

Heather also screamed, "You f****** deserve your kids to die! You f****** deserve it! And when you find yourself in that position, think of me!" She also said, "I hope no one f****** burns your entire department down, your f****** police department ..." She also said, "If you ever come back to my house I will shoot you."

As we reported ... cops obtained a search warrant and were looking for a gun registered in her name but did not find the weapon. The search warrant noted Heather had a history of drug and other alcohol-related incidents, including a call in 2012 where she reported to be suicidal.

LONG WAY TO GO
TMZ.com

The host of "America's Most Wanted," who also helped create a national registry for sex offenders, says the same system is needed for mentally ill people looking to buy guns.

We got John Walsh Saturday at LAX and asked what he made of Florida's new gun law -- in which the age limit to purchase guns was raised to 21 ... and teachers can now be armed.

He says it's a step in the right direction, but also thinks arming teachers is the wrong way to protect schools from potential shooters -- he wants trained pros on the ground instead.

Here's the most interesting tidbit ... John apparently believes a national registry logging people with serious mental illness needs to be implemented for would-be gun owners.

It's a pretty controversial take ... so we gotta ask.

Should the mentally ill be in a registry before they can buy a gun?

Jonathan Martin Had Loaded Gun, Knife & Ax ... When Arrested

New disturbing details in the Jonathan Martin case ... we've learned he was arrested with a cache of weapons including a loaded shotgun, knife and an ax -- and had been threatening classmates for years.

TMZ Sports has obtained court documents filed after Martin was taken into custody on Feb. 23 after posting a cryptic photo on Instagram threatening old high school classmates and former NFL teammates.

Officials say they found Martin after getting a call about a "suicidal male with a gun" at a hospital in Glendale, CA.

He was placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold because officials believed he was a possible danger to himself and others.

They searched his car and found a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, a large knife, an ax and a cell phone. A second shotgun was found at his parents' home.

Officials spoke with Martin's girlfriend who said he'd been angry and depressed since she met him, but over the past month started making suicidal statements.

The GF says Martin had also been "writing on the walls" of his home.

Investigators spoke with the two former high school classmates Martin tagged in his cryptic IG post who said Martin had been sending them disturbing Facebook messages starting in 2016.

One message said, "Thank you for being such an asshole to me when I was a kid and didn't fit in ... being dicks to me when I was a kid has made me, quite literally, insane."

"And I blame you above all. You'll get yours, eventually -- I have already paid my price for being a bad person. I wish you nothing but the worst. Best, Jonathan Martin."

He sent a second message to the same classmate that said, "You're a bad person. You irreparably damaged people's lives. And you will be exposed publicly. If there is anything else I accomplish in life, it will be making sure you are outed and shamed for who you are."

Martin followed up with a 3rd message that had similar language.

The classmate says Martin apologized in August 2016 and it sounded like everything was cool. Clearly, it was not.

One other note ... cops say they learned Martin had purchased one shotgun right after he sent the Facebook messages and another shotgun 13 days before the Instagram post.

Florida Shooting Survivor Family Goes To FBI Over Online Threats

The family of outspoken Florida shooting survivor, David Hogg, is turning to the FBI after receiving several death threats online, including a particularly disturbing one from an NRA supporter.

The 17-year-old Hogg has been one of Parkland's most vocal gun reform advocates. His mother, Rebecca Boldrick, tells us that they've decided to go to the FBI after someone wrote in a comment on one of Rebecca's Facebook photos, “You can change your settings, but you can never change your faces, your whole family is exposed because of your piece of s*** kid."

The person who posted the comment called out her son's upcoming birthday, saying it "will be an interesting event" before co-signing the NRA and the right to bear arms, which the Hoggs are taking as a death threat.

We've confirmed the FBI has been contacted. Hogg's father is also an ex-FBI agent. Rebecca says they've also put in calls to Facebook as well as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, since the commentor's FB profile says he hails from Canada.

In a statement, Rebecca tells TMZ the family understands that, while some people don’t agree with their anti-gun message, that shouldn't give them the right to threaten or intimidate her family, particularly through social media. She says any threats they receive will have consequences.
