The Jimmy John's cashier who didn't flinch when a robber put a gun in his face has a simple explanation for his cool reaction -- dude seemed like a total rookie.

We spoke to Tuker Murray -- Assistant GM at the Kansas City, MO shop, and he told us he never feared for his life, despite staring down the barrel of the handgun. Surveillance video of the Wednesday night confrontation went viral when KCPD released it.

Tuker says there was nothing intimidating about the perp. And get this ... when we told him the gun had actually jammed (you can see it in the video), he said his response would have been even ballsier.

The suspect, 54-year-old Terry Rayford, got away with $280. He's since been caught, and turns out he wasn't a rook at all.

Kevin Gates Gets 30 Months for Gun Charge

2:29 PM PT -- Kevin's attorney, Herschel Rush, tells TMZ the rapper's charges carried a maximum of 10 years in prison so "we are very pleased with the result of 30 months."

Rapper Kevin Gates finally knows his fate in his gun case -- he's going to prison for 30 months.

The Cook County Sheriff's Office in Illinois says Kevin appeared in court Wednesday and pled guilty to his original charge of felony gun possession. Remember, the outstanding weapons-related warrant popped up the same day he completed his sentence in Florida for kicking a woman in the face at one of his shows.

The warrant was issued because Kevin failed to appear in court for the 2013 gun case.

We're told Kevin, who has been in jail since March 30, will be transferred to the Illinois Department of Corrections.

A bunch of people called 911 the night someone tried to shoot and kill Adrien Broner -- but nobody seems to agree on exactly how many shots were fired.

Some say 20. Others 10. Another witness only counted 5 or 6.

One of the witnesses admitted, "I don't really know what gunshots sound like ... but it sounded like it might be that."

The incident took place in front of a Cincinnati bar on April 19 -- Broner says the shooters wanted to kill him because they're jealous of his boxing success.

Broner told TMZ Sports he drove like a maniac in his white SUV to get away safely but was pulled over a short distance away.

Cops radioed in that they stopped a bullet ridden vehicle and had arrested Broner on an outstanding warrant for an unrelated issue.

During the arrest, Broner insisted he did nothing wrong and bragged about being rich and famous.

As for shooter ... no arrests have been made and cops say Broner and his camp aren't cooperating in the investigation.

Adrien Broner Arrested In Bullet-Ridden SUV After Suspected Shootout

More trouble for boxing star Adrien Broner ... who was arrested in Kentucky early Thursday morning after Covington PD officers pulled over his white SUV, which had several bullet holes in it.

Broner was driving a white Chevy Suburban and trying to cross into Kentucky when officials noticed a warrant for his arrest stemming from a failure to appear in court for a previous arrest in 2014 for disorderly conduct and alcohol intoxication.

While taking Broner into custody, officers noticed several bullet holes in the SUV -- and Broner claimed he had been shot at by an unknown suspect after leaving a bar in Cincinnati earlier in the evening.

Broner says he was not hurt in the shooting and doesn't know why he was attacked. Cops say they did find evidence of a shooting at the alleged crime scene including several shell casings.

Officials tell TMZ Sports the vehicle is being turned over to the Cincinnati PD for further investigation.

Broner has been released from custody and is due back in court later this month.

Tampa Bay WR Josh Huff Cuts Deal In Gun Case ... Avoids Jail

Good news for Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Josh Huff -- he just struck a deal with prosecutors in his gun case and will stay out of jail .... if he keeps his nose clean.

As we previously reported, the 25-year-old ex-Oregon star was pulled over in NJ back in Nov. for speeding -- but during the stop, cops say they found an unloaded gun, hollow point bullets and weed.

He was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and was facing up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

But TMZ Sports has learned Huff accepted a conditional plea -- in which he essentially gets 6 months probation and, if he stays out of trouble, the charge will be wiped from his record.

If he screws up, Huff agrees to plead guilty and could face the maximum punishment.

Huff still has 2 charges pending -- DUI and tinted windows -- but his lawyer, Andrew Smith, tells us he's hopeful those will be dismissed.

The manhunt's now expanded to 5 states -- Cleveland authorities say Stephens could still be in Ohio ... or on the run in Pennsylvania, New York, Indiana or Michigan.

Will Smith's Killer Sues NFL Star's Widow ... You Ruined My Life

The man convicted of shooting and killing ex-NFL star Will Smith is now suing Smith's widow in civil court -- claiming it was Will who triggered the violence that fateful night and ruined his life.

Cardell Hayes is suing Racquel Smith, the estate of Will Smith and others over the events from April 9, 2016 ... when Hayes shot Smith in New Orleans following a road rage incident.

In the suit, Hayes says Smith was very drunk when he began dangerously taunting him on the road that night ... culminating in Hayes slamming his car into Smith's vehicle.

Hayes says Smith threw a drink in his face and punched him while one of Smith's associates tried to club him with a weapon.

Hayes says Smith went back to his car, grabbed a gun and shot at him multiple times.

Cops say they found a loaded gun in Smith's car that night -- but prosecutors had said there's no evidence he ever fired it during the altercation.

Hayes was eventually convicted of manslaughter and could face up to 40 years in prison. Sentencing is set for later this month.

Meantime, Hayes is suing the Smiths in civil court for the assault, severe emotional distress, loss of enjoyment of life and more.

Yeah, Hayes killed Smith ... but that doesn't mean Smith [really Smith's estate] can't also be found liable for his actions that night.

Pittsburgh Steelers CB Brings Gun to Airport ... Not Arrested

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Senquez Golson was stopped by TSA agents at an airport in Alabama after they found a handgun and bullets in his carry-on bag ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Maybe he was flying United???

Here's what we know ... the 2015 2nd round draft pick was going through security at Mobile Regional Airport around noon Wednesday when they found a Glock .45 caliber pistol along with 23 rounds of ammunition in the magazine.

There's a discrepancy over whether the gun can be considered "loaded" or "unloaded" since there was technically not a round in the chamber.

TSA alerted police and officers took the bag and escorted Golson out of the area.

Golson was NOT arrested. Instead, cops offered to hold the gun for him until he returned from his travels ... at which time he could pick it up.

How's that for southern hospitality?

The new sentence runs concurrently ... meaning it won't be tacked on to his 7 year sentence.
