Great White Dopes -- Rappers Go Wild

TMZ has your first look at the music videos shot for Monday's episode of VH1's "White Rapper." And yes, it's as funny as it sounds.

Each team of three had to shoot their own music video. Sullee, Jon Boy and John Brown did your typical "video ho" rap called "She's a Stunner." While Persia, Jus Rhyme and $hamrock tried to bring back old school with their effort, "Old School Music." It's unclear if either of them succeeded, but it was a valiant effort -- or at least a regular kind of effort.

Both tracks were produced by hip-hop heavyweight Just Blaze, who has produced songs for the likes of The Beastie Boys, Jay-Z, Usher, Kanye West and Busta Rhymes. He can now add "a bunch of white people no one will ever hear of again" to his resume.

Be sure to check out "Ego Trip's White Rapper Show" on VH1, Monday at 10:30 PM.

Do the White Thing!

When Michael Richards screamed the N-word at the Laugh Factory back in November, he went on "The Late Show with David Letterman" to apologize. When aspiring rapper Persia used it to insult fellow rapper John Brown, she was forced to wear a necklace that says "N*WORD" on it for an entire day.

Welcome to VH1's "ego Trip's The (White) Rapper Show."

Premiering next Monday, the show seeks to add a new pasty face to the Caucasian hip-hop scene by putting 10 aspiring white rappers into a house (Tha White House, actually) as they battle it out for a $100,000 prize.

The show has its comedic elements; a woman rapping about her C-section scar stands out as one of them. The show also tries to tackle issues of race in the culture as well. Yeah, you have to see it.

"I think for entertainment's sake, it was a given that it was going to be tongue in cheek, poking fun at white people," John Brown told TMZ. "But at the same time, I think there were a lot of challenges and a lot of experiences that were dead serious."

Check out "ego Trip's The (White) Rapper Show" when it premieres January 8 at 10:30PM on VH1.

Vartan Just Pucking Around

"Alias" star Michael Vartan showed up at "VH1's Big Night for a Big Cause" with a big thing of his own -- a black eye!

Camera-friendly Vartan strutted the red carpet with his shiner on display and a smile on his face. TMZ has learned that Michael's injury wasn't caused by a fist, but close enough; the star plays in a few pick-up hockey games and received an elbow to the eye. Ow.

Relive the 80s With "Totally Awesome"

We're not entirely sure what watching Chris Kattan make out with Dominique Swain has to do with the 80s, but that's the clip the good folks at VH1 sent us for their new 80s spoof movie "Totally Awesome."

From the co-creator of "Chapelle's Show" (and writer of the stoner classic "Half Baked"), "Totally Awesome" is a send-up of all the cheesy 80s movies we all know and love. The plot is so straight out of the 80s, Molly Ringwald should be in it.

First, the biggest loser in school falls for the most popular girl and decides the only way to win her love is to beat her boyfriend in the school Decathlon. And, not to be left out, the biggest loser's sister (played by Dominique Swain) is dismayed to discover that dancing has been banned her town (sound familiar?).

In this clip from the movie, Swain's character makes out with the school's janitor and former dance instructor (played by Chris Kattan) who invites her to attend secret group dancing lessons at his house.

In addition to Swain and Kattan, the movie stars Tracy Morgan, Mikey Day, Nicki Clyne, Brittany Daniel, James Hong and Ben Stein.

"Totally Awesome" premieres November 4 on VH1 at 9PM and will available on DVD on November 7.

The New Elephant Man

Sportscaster and basketball great John Salley is teaming up with one of the biggest stars in Hollywood to help fight a deadly epidemic. His new co-star? A two ton elephant names Susie.

In a new 30-second Public Service Announcement to air on VH1, John Salley and Susie build off of the old adage "There's an elephant in the room, and no one's talking about it." Salley walks through an office building with Susie, who wears a visitor name badge marked "AIDS." The voice-over reminds viewers that AIDS is still a global pandemic, and it's time to talk about it.

The spot kicks the "Hope Spreads Faster Than AIDS" campaign. The PSA was shot in Los Angeles in July and produced by VH1's creative team. VH1 will begin airing the spot this week.

VH1 Searches For Next "Great White Rapper"

From Jeff Davidson's Sound Bytes blog

With Eminem seemingly turning his focus to movies and Vanilla Ice being, well Vanilla Ice, there's a hole in the hip-hop community. But, never fear, VH1 is going to introduce America to the next great "white rapper" via a new reality series that is in the works.

But, this won't be "Malibu's Most Wanted." These competitors are heading to hip-hop's birthplace in the South Bronx to battle it out to see who is a wannabe and who is the real thing.

Jim Ackerman, VH1's Senior V.P. of Development and Production and Programming, tells TMZ that finalists have been whittled down from a nationwide search and production will begin shortly. The contestants will live together in the South Bronx and in addition to enduring various "musical challenges" like freestyle rap-offs, the rappers' "authenticity" will also be tested with various "cultural trials" where they will interact with the Bronx community. MC Serch (a/ka Michael Berrin) from Third Base will host and various old school and current rap stars will visit as judges.

So, all you other Shadys who are just imitating now's your chance to stand up. But, remember you only get one shot, so do not miss your chance to blow...
