TMZ has learned that Nicole Richie and baby daddy Joel Madden may have finally set the date!

Sources tell TMZ that the Wedding Fairy, a wedding planner based in the OC, will coordinate the small ceremony that is to take place October 13 in Laguna Beach, Calif. Looks like their baby will be born into wedded bliss!

TMZ was outside Neil George Salon on Robertson Blvd. when Joe and Nic made a fast break to their waiting car. A menacing Madden swatted at a nearby photog and yelled, "Get outta the f**kin' way!" No need for a bodyguard here!

Miss Richie was seen in a gray stretchy dress with black sweater, accentuating the little Madden nestled in her petite womb. Joel Madden, Nic's rocker boyfriend/baby daddy, apparently proposed last week to the soon-to-be incarcerated baby mama.

Looks like Nicole Richie's baby won't be born out of wedlock after all!

Sources who attended the Hot 99.5 concert last night featuring Good Charlotte at the Clarendon Ballroom tell us Joel told the crowd he had just proposed to his jail-bound baby mama on Thursday. Congrats!

As first reported by Perez Hilton, Scary and Stephen were married in a quickie Vegas ceremony on June 6. A clerk at the Clark County Marriage Bureau confirms there is a marriage certificate.

Brown was supposed to appear on tonight's "Larry King Live," but was a no-show because Mel and her

baby are sick.

TMZ spotted the always wacked-out, self-described "crazy movie star" and chicken dancer outside Area last night, where she announced to the world, via paparazzi, that she got hitched in Sin City earlier that day. She may want to tell her reps now, since they told TMZ that no wedding occurred.

Her "husband" would only say his name was "anonymous" ... though it isn't hard to see why he'd want to keep his identity secret!

Paris Hilton said she wanted to change her image from party girl to charity worker, but reports from her recent Hawaiian getaway say that the socialite was up to the same old, same old. Page Six reports that Paris went clubbing at the Hyatt while in Hawaii, and swapped spit with a couple of the local boys. Even worse, a source said, "The paparazzi told us that Paris calls them herself." A lensman told the source, "We love her. She lets us know where she's going to be so we can take as many pictures as we want."

Paris' rep Elliot Mintz says that just ain't so. "The last thing she needs is more paparazzi coverage."

Elton John was not a happy camper after last Sunday's Concert for Diana. When Sir Elton's chauffeur-driven ride was stopped on his way to the concert's after-party, he flew into a wild rage. All cars were barred from within 50 yards for security reasons, but the "Tiny Dancer" singer didn't care. He chewed out the offending cop, and then some. "Get out of my f**king way," he screamed. "Don't you know who I am? I've been working all f**king day and I need to get to my f**king dressing room."

Reports say Elton was in an especially bad mood because he was forced to cut his finale performance short due to technical difficulties.

Not only has former SNL funnyman Chris Kattan gotten engaged to a woman, but his fiancee is a hot model!

Chris and his soon-to-be bride, Sunshine Tutt, were caught having lunch in West Hollywood over the weekend.

Aaron Carter has fallen headfirst into love. Unfortunately, "love" may be a brick wall -- and the singer seems to have a concussion.

Given that we thought the guest list at the Cruise-Holmes nuptials in Italy seemed more like a Fellini film, or an episode of "The Surreal Life" -- Marc Anthony? Jenny McCarthy? Jenna Elfman? -- we tried to break down exactly what some of these people were doing all the way over in Bracciano, so far away from home. It should make for some awkward moments during the dinner hour.

Several of the guests -- John Travolta, Elfman and her husband Bodhi, and Leah Remini -- are members of the Scientology tribe, so that makes sense. But what about J. Lo? It turns out that Lopez and Remini are close pals ... and remember that Remini was the first celeb to cop to a Suri sighting, so we know she's in the inner circle.

Now we're pretty sure that Jenny McCarthy and TomKat haven't worked together on anything recently, but J-Mac's squeeze, Jim Carrey, used to go out with Renee Zellweger, who, of course, was Cruise's co-star in "Jerry Maguire." With just one day left until the colossal Roman wedding, guests keep pouring in. Today saw the arrival of Will Smith, British tab faves Victoria and David Beckham. Fellow Scientologist Jenna Elfman has also been spotted in the Italian city of Bracciano.

Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, who arrived yesterday, was spotted enjoying the sights of Rome, and the shops ... she had a handful of shopping bags. Tom and Katie's moms, along with Holmes' sister, were seen headed into the Vatican Museum this afternoon. Can you say "souvenir Pope snowglobe?"

The TomKat wedding circus will (hopefully) die down after tomorrow's ceremony. Then comes the honeymoon circus!

Prior to the red carpets and acting accolades, Kate tells Parade magazine she grew up being called "blubber" and sought comfort in the arms of her first love Stephen Tredre.

Regarding Tredre, Winslet says, "He was the most important person in my life. My life revolved around him." In 1994, Tredre was diagnosed with bone cancer and Kate rushed to his side.

In late '97, the same week that the movie that would make her a household name, "Titanic", opened, Tredre died. Kate says it was "unbelievably heartbreaking."

Winslet managed to pick up the pieces and, after a failed marriage to James Threapleton which produced her daughter Mia, eventually fell in love with Mendes. In 2003, the NY-based couple had a son, Joe.

With her career and personal life now at the top of their game, Kate's life couldn't be better. "I love being married to Sam and I love motherhood more than anything."

Aaron Carter told E! News anchor Ryan Seacrest what everyone knew all along -- that his engagement to Kari Ann Peniche was a "mistake."

"I made the mistake and she made a mistake too," Carter said in his first on-camera interview since the news broke. "We both did."

Carter made headlines last week by proposing to former Playboy Playmate Kari Ann Peniche in Las Vegas after only knowing her for 5 days. Peniche previously dated Carter's older brother, Nick.

On September 25, 1969 in Swansea, Wales Catherine Zeta-Jones was being delivered from her mother's womb into the world. On that same day, her husband Michael Douglas was celebrating his 25th birthday.

On Sunday, Michael and Catherine commemorated the eve of their shared birthdays by having dinner at London's Wolseley Restaurant.

Monday also marked an extra special day for Michael because besides turning 62, he is now eligible to start receiving his federal retirement benefits. Obviously, Catherine still has a ways to go as she's only 37.

While there's no word on how the duo will spend their day, one thing's for sure, with 99 candles between them, they're going to need one mighty large cake.

Ellen DeGeneres continues her quest to be a celebrity bridesmaid, this time asking Beyoncé Knowles if she'll be marrying boyfriend Jay-Z in the near future.

Though whispers of wedding talk have been swirling, Knowles shot them down, saying they're all "big fat rumors." An ever-optimistic Beyoncé added, "One day I hope to be married with children."

Though Knowles recently told reporters she plans on winning a Tony, Oscar and Grammy in her lifetime she tells DeGeneres she'd like to take more breaks between projects.

"I don't want to retire at thirty, I want to relax...I still want to make albums and movies, but at a slower pace."

The New York Post reports that Bruce Springsteen's long time marriage to Patti Scialfa is in deep trouble.

The alleged problem is Bruce's blossoming friendship with a stunning 9/11 widow the Boss met when he organized the "America: A Tribute to Heroes" telethon. The two have been spotted several times at the Beacon Hill Beach Club and the Stone Pony, the Asbury Park watering hole made famous in "Glory Days."

The Post quotes several "friends" of Springsteen who can't seem to decide on whether the couple is on the rocks or not. One friend says "They're separated, but everyone has been sworn to secrecy," while another friend states "He's just a really big flirt. There's nothing going on. Bruce and Patti are very much partners. They go at it a lot and fight, but they also work at it a lot... Patti is a strong woman. They are not going anywhere." Confused yet? So are we.
