Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's East Coast weekend getaway is shaping up to be a ball ... of the pickling variety, specifically.

The couple is out in the Hamptons right now, where they seem to have settled in to ring the 4th of July -- but before the fireworks, it looks like they were in the mood to get active ... namely, by hitting up a public pickleball court in Sag Harbor and whacking away.

Check out this footage, obtained by TMZ, which shows Bennifer hitting a ball back and forth out in the open. This was in a public space, BTW, so they weren't trying to lie low.

As you can see -- they're on the side of the court ... and we're told there were two children on the other end who were playing with them. No word on whether it was either of their kids or not, but ya gotta figure it might've been ... the brood rolls together a lot these days.

Now, when it comes to their game ... well, let's just say Jen looked to be a little more engaged (and dressed for the occasion) than her hubby did. She's out there in straight-up tennis gear (pickleball is like mini tennis, FWIW) and Ben's in ... jeans and a tee.

He also comes across as a little more lackadaisical here, half-heartedly using his paddle -- but hey, they're playing against young'ns. Can't really knock the dude for takin it easy.

Remember, the two of them had just gone to Michael Rubin's White party the day prior -- so it's possible they're a little pooped and soaking in the holiday with a chill back-and-forth.

11:45 AM PT -- Joey Chestnut easily won the hot dog-eating contest (again) for the 16th time, and while his performance this year was solid ... it still wasn't as good as years past.

JC ate 62 hot dogs in 10 minutes, which secured him the victory and the belt. Like we said, he's eaten more before -- but it's impressive, nonetheless. Congrats, bud!

Chestnut and the rest of the hot dog-eating machines WILL gorge themselves this year after all on a Fourth of July tradition, -- despite Mother Nature trying to torpedo their plans.

Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest was almost canceled Tuesday at Coney Island ... all on account of a massive thunderstorm that rolled through, which dumped a ton of rain and lightning onto the area -- and sent patrons running for cover.

Footage taken by journos on the ground shows swarms of people looking to get out of the rain any way they can ... and some got creative, standing on outdoor tables under umbrellas.

It got so bad that the NYPD actually pulled the plug on the rest of the competition -- the men's race, specifically -- out of an abundance of caution. But Nathan's organizers waited it out a bit and decided to proceed once the storm cleared -- which it eventually did.

It's unclear when exactly the contest will get underway, but the legend himself is waiting in the wings and clearly ready. JC was seen walking around mingling with onlookers who stuck around -- and he was hyping himself up as they chanted his name.

Indeed, the guy's back to defend his title ... last year he ate 63 hot dogs and won, but that wasn't anywhere near his record set the previous year at 76 franks -- which he hoped to topple in 2023.

The glizzy champ wants another bite at the apple, er, wiener. At this point, it's looking like he'll get his chance -- and seeing how he's the odds-on favorite to win ... people will be counting the dogs he downs as the true marker of victory.

Go get 'em, kid!

Just as sure as they'll be fireworks over the East River on Independence Day, Michael Rubin was true to tradition, throwing an insane July 4th white party bash that was, as per usual, the hottest ticket in town.

JLo and Ben Affleck were all decked out as they sauntered into the Hampton's soiree Jay-Z loaded up his whip with some pals and drove inside Rubin's gates.

Winnie Harlow was all that as she waved to the crowd, Evita style, and Emily Ratajkowski ... well, the photo says it all -- incredible!!!

EmRata showed off the goods, as Travis Scott -- who was just cleared of criminal charges in the Astroworld tragedy -- chilled with some buddies.

Sydney Sweeney seems to be living her best life this summer -- but the question still kinda remains after this latest development ... is she living her best *single* life???

The actress posted a massive photo dump that shows her partying and enjoying herself during a recent trip to Ibiza -- where she's seen hanging out with friends and hitting the town ... be it in formal-wear, or in a bikini. Indeed, she was rockin' all sorts of looks.

Point is ... it's interesting that JD is absent from this trip, but not necessarily a smoking gun of her relationship status. Sydney was spotted out on a date night with Jonathan just a few weeks ago in NYC -- where they seemed to be in good spirits and going strong.

She and Jon have actually surfaced a few times over the past several months -- this amid speculation something was going on between her and costar Glen Powell ... whom she shot a movie with, and who looked cozy next to her during a Spring promotional tour.

As far as we know ... she's still on with Jonathan, but man -- Sydney sure does seem unattached here. Hot girl summer, anyone??? 🥵

JB and LS were rocking their shades and chatting it up as the vessel roared through over the water and approached an even larger boat -- a massive support boat that was waiting for both of them.

This is not Bezos' superyacht ... it's appears to be the tender that takes them from the yacht to shore, and even IT is awesome ...  it has a freaking helipad on top of it, which Jeff and Lauren used.

Indeed ... they ended up leaving the area entirely up in the skies. A helicopter flew 'em out -- so they went from land to sea ... and finally to the air. We suppose we wouldn't expect anything less from a multibillionaire -- they tend to travel in style, especially on vacation.

As we've reported ... Jeff and Lauren have gotten their honeymoon started early this summer. They've been hopping all over Europe for the past month -- and wherever they go, they seem to be rolling solo and enjoying each other's company ... almost exclusively.

Calling all Barbie girls -- Barbie's IRL Malibu Dreamhouse is going back up on Airbnb -- and this time, Ken's hosting two FREE overnight stays!!!

The life-size Dreamhouse -- located in the heart of Malibu, of course -- just got a pretty pink glow-up, and it's going to be listed on Airbnb a couple of days before the anticipated movie hits theaters.

Airbnb says Ken will host two lucky winners for individual overnight stays on July 21 and 22 ... the listing goes up July 17 at 10 AM PT and Airbnb says two people will be selected and can bring a friend for a free night at the real-life Barbie house.

In what could pass as an outtake from "Jaws" -- a guy was bitten by a shark and dragged off his boat during a fishing trip in Florida last week ... and the video is wild.

The clip shows a group of fishermen in the Florida Everglades, anchored in a marsh. You see one guy's rod in the water, and another guy (who's on camera) bends down and starts to lean over the side of the small boat they're all in.

As the dude starts to consider putting his hand in the water, one of his buddies tells him it's probably not a good idea. He's incredulous though, saying nothing will happen.

However, as soon as his fingers hit the water, a shark comes up and takes a bite! The fisherman yelps out in pain, getting dragged in and desperately tries getting back on board.

Park rangers responded to the scene, and reports say the guy was airlifted to the hospital -- where he was treated for a hand injury.

Patrick Mahomes is clearly an All-Pro both in front of the camera and behind one ... showing this weekend he can play an elite photographer for his wife!!

Green -- who will hit free agency after declining his $27.5 million player option to stay with the Dubs -- has had nothing but high praise for the King over the years ... going as far as to say he's the greatest player of all time over Michael Jordan.

There's no joke here, but that's exactly what went down in Sardinia over the weekend ... with Tom Brady and Leonardo DiCaprio hanging out on a big boat together.

As we previously reported, the "Departed" actor has been yacht hopping for about a week following the Cannes Film Festival ... most recently ditching his shirt to hang with his guy friends out on the waters near the Italian island.

As it turns out, the NFL legend was also part of the fun at sea ... with TB12 and Leo appearing in a big group photo posted on Miami hospitality entrepreneur David Grutman's Instagram stories.

The occasion appeared to be a birthday bash for their friend, Bert Hedaya ... and judging by the picture, it didn't appear to be awkward at all for the two -- granted, they were about 25 feet away from each other.

Remember, Leo dated Gisele for more than 5 years in the early 2000s before she tied the knot with Brady ... a marriage that lasted over a decade before ending in divorce this past October.

TB12 and Leo are both seemingly keeping their options open for now ... and apparently, they're enjoying the hell outta their free time.
