'Star Wars' Fan Final Resting Place ... Will Be with Vader

Daniel Fleetwood, the superfan who got to see 'The Force Awakens' right before he died -- will go into eternity in a custom-made lightsaber urn ... TMZ has learned.

We're told Daniel's brother-in-law, who's an engineer, designed the urn as an exact replica of Darth Vader's weapon. It was one of Daniel's dying wishes to have a 'Star Wars' related final resting place.

It might seem odd that Daniel opted for the Dark Side's poster child -- but his wife, Ashley, tells us Vader was his favorite character, and he thought the lightsaber was a "great idea."

Ashley says the lightsaber is still under construction, but should be ready for his celebration of life on Nov. 21. Their backup plan is also kinda awesome -- a ceramic Death Star urn.

The Force is definitely with Daniel.

Daniel Fleetwood First Fan to See 'The Force Awakens' Dies

Daniel Fleetwood, the terminally ill man who had a last wish -- to see the new 'Star Wars' movie -- has died.

Fleetwood was battling a rare form of cancer and had only a short time to live, when J.J. Abrams granted his wish to see the movie ... it was clear he would not live long enough to see the film when it opened.

Abrams and crew arranged for Daniel and his wife Ashley to watch an unfinished cut last week in his living room. Daniel was ecstatic.

Daniel's wife said, "Daniel put up an amazing fight to the very end. He is now with God and with the force."

Daniel died in his sleep.

THEY'VE GONE TO THE DARK SIDE
TMZ.com

Rick Springfield thinks the late Walt Disney is rolling over in his grave because of some rumored changes his company is making with 'Star Wars' merchandise.

Rick is a huge 'Star Wars' fan -- he even owns a VERY rare collectible called Head Man -- so we asked him about Disney allegedly killing all future sales of the Princess Leia 'slave' costume from 'Return of the Jedi.'

Rick's pretty passionate in his belief that someone at Disney's trying to make 'Star Wars' too G-rated, and Walt would NOT be down with that. As for the Mouse's handling of the 'Force Awakens' ... Springfield weighs in on that too.

Star Wars Terminal Fan Gets 'Force Awakens' Screening ... Under Heavy Security

The Force was very strong for a 'Star Wars' fan battling terminal cancer -- J.J. Abrams and Disney set him up with a private screening of 'The Force Awakens' after a viral campaign to make it happen.

32-year-old Daniel Fleetwood got his final wish when studio execs showed up at his Texas home Wednesday and let him see an unedited version. Daniel was diagnosed with inoperable spindle cell sarcoma in July, and doctors told him he won't make it to Christmas ... when the movie premieres.

Daniel's wife, Ashley, tells us he loved the movie. She can't say much more because she had to sign a confidentiality agreement. She says they watched on their own TV, but it was played from Disney's equipment -- gotta make sure the flick doesn't get jacked.

Abrams put in a phone call to Daniel before they rolled the movie, which Ashley says really made Daniel's day.

Somebody call Yoda, 'cause Luke Skywalker has some serious confidence issues.

Mark Hamill tells TMZ ... unlike millions of nerds across the galaxy, he refuses to watch the old "Star Wars" movies ... and it's all because he's super insecure about seeing himself on-screen.

Hamill was leaving Greenblatt's Deli on the Sunset Strip when we asked him if there was a proper order to watch all of the "Star Wars" flicks.

That's when the Jedi master told us he just can't do it ... "I just don't like really watching myself ... because you see all the flaws."

Hamill says he LOVES everyone else in the flicks -- Harrison, Carrie, Billy Dee -- but when it comes to Luke, all he sees is the dark side.

For the record ... DUDE, YOU WERE AWESOME!!!!!

'Star Wars' 'White Genocide' In Galaxy Far, Far Away?

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is going way too far on the dark side -- according to the thousands upon thousands of people now accusing the upcoming film of promoting "white genocide."

We know this sounds bizarre, but there's actual Twitter unrest today with #BoycottStarWarsVII trending like crazy. The movement started shortly after a new poster for the flick was released Monday.

The poster features John Boyega -- as well as Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher ... but haters think the image is pushing black over white ... and not just the movie's main characters.

Seems like classic trolling to us, but at least it's made for some entertaining tweets and memes:

Star Wars Sues The Force Is Strong ... With These Thieves

Darth Vader accessories are a must for Star Wars geeks getting their swag on ... but Disney is going to war with a cuff link company it says jacked its characters.

According to documents obtained by TMZ ... Lucasfilm and Disney say Cuff Daddy made links featuring various Star Wars characters without getting permission.

It appears the cuff links in question are no longer for sale on the Cuff Daddy site, but as far as Disney's concerned ... the damage is done. The Mouse House is demanding CD stop all production on the rebel links, and also wants 3 times the profits already made off merch.

Cuff Daddy says it got the gear from suppliers who were licensed to make it.

Harrison Ford at Comic-Con Trust Me Guys ... I Can Still Fly the Millennium Falcon

If there are 2 things Harrison Ford knows how to do ... it's landing planes, and making entrances -- he did one of those to enormous applause at Comic-Con.

Harrison got back together with his 'Star Wars' cohorts Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamil Friday evening in San Diego, and it was just like old times ... except they're all much older.

This was 72-year-old Harrison's first public appearance since the crash landing in March ... and he looks to be in great shape.

By the way -- freakin' nameplates on the table? If you don't know ... don't go.

Nerd demigod and astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson doesn't mess around when it comes to science or sci-fi ... which is why there's one clear winner for him in the 'Stars Wars' vs. 'Star Trek' debate.

Tyson was leaving 30 Rock when we asked him if he was excited about the recently released "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" trailer.

A short time ago in cyberspace not so far away ... nerds were up in arms over the new lightsaber seen briefly in the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" trailer -- but the movie's director says he's got saber support from Hollywood's biggest nerd.

J.J. Abrams was on his way out of Bad Robot's studio ... when he told our photog he's not surprised at the cross-saber backlash -- but he also knew lots of fans would think it's cool.

In case you don't know, the hubbub is over the practicality of the design -- it seems like the sword could easily cut anyone using the Jedi tool.

But Abrams says one celeb nerd with major pull already gave him two wookiee thumbs up.

Hint: he's a big "Lord of the Rings" fan.
