Ramy Youssef FREE PALESTINE AND ISRAELI HOSTAGES … Both-Sides It on 'SNL'
Ramy Youssef got political for his opening monologue on "Saturday Night Live" ... asking God to free Palestine, as well as the Israeli hostages.
The comedian touched on the conflict Saturday, recounting an anecdote involving 2 of his friends ... who asked him to work their struggles into his prayers.
One pal asked him to ask God to help him win back custody of his dog from his ex-girlfriend -- whereas another asked Ramy to pray for his family in Gaza.
Dana Carvey Apologizes to Sharon Stone ... Over Undressing 'SNL' Skit
Dana Carvey wants to say sorry over an old 'SNL' skit that saw Sharon Stone stripping on the set -- but funny enough ... Sharon says no apology is needed, 'cause she's not trippin'.
The comedian and his podcast cohost, David Spade, were hosting the actress on their show 'Fly On the Wall' and they were recapping when SS hosted on 'SNL' way back in 1992 ... this on the heels of "Basic Instinct" being released in theaters and taking the country by storm.
In particular, they revisited this one controversial skit called the "Airport Security Sketch" -- where DC played an Indian security guard who kept ordering Sharon to remove one piece of clothing at a time ... because she kept setting off the security buzzer.
Dana has regrets about that ... saying that while Sharon was cool about it back then, they'd probably get "arrested" for that scene nowadays. Spade even chimed in, saying it was offensive.
But, Sharon made it clear that an apology wasn't warranted ... adding there's a big difference between a misdemeanor and a felony -- and that back in '92, they were all "committing misdemeanors," thinking it wasn't a big deal at all.
Sharon adds she had other things to deal with at the time ... and was totally fine being the butt of the joke 'cause she thought it was funny.
She also says people's attitudes about this sort of stuff nowadays are weird and precious ... with people spending too much time alone, and not knowing how to be funny or intimate with each other anymore. In other words, she thinks PC culture is alive and well in 2024.
It's an interesting conversation for sure ... basically, Sharon is okay with the humor from the old days, even though some today might perhaps be offended on her behalf.

Scarlett Johansson on 'SNL' Nails Sen. Katie Britt ... 'Craziest Bitch' in Target Parking Lot!!!
As everyone expected, Sen. Katie Britt was roasted in the 'SNL' cold open, but the surprise was Scarlett Johansson making a cameo to fill the role, and nailing the hilarious send-up of Britt's State of the Union response.
ICYMI .. the junior Alabama Senator went viral after her GOP response to President Biden's Thursday night SOTU address. The speech -- delivered from her kitchen for some reason -- struck most as oddly performative.
Scarlett still managed to take it over the top, saying, "I’ll be performing an original monologue called ‘This country is hell.’ You see, I’m not just a senator. I’m a wife, a mother and the craziest bitch in the Target parking lot.”
She also perfectly mocked Sen. Britt's facial expressions, hand movements and even some questionable fact-checking with lines like ... "I’m going to do a pivot out of nowhere into a shockingly violent story about sex trafficking. Rest assured, every detail about it is real except the year, where it took place, and who was president when it happened.”
On Thursday night, the Senator shared a story of a woman she met in Texas who told her about being sex trafficked by the cartels. While Britt blamed President Biden’s border policies, the Washington Post reported the woman’s experiences took place in Mexico during President George W. Bush's administration.
One of Scarlett's best lines in the skit imitated the QVC host tone of Sen. Britt's speech -- out of nowhere, she started hawking the diamond cross necklace she was wearing, saying, "Goes with anything, and you can wear it from da’ church to da’ club.”
As you know, Scarlett is married to 'SNL' cast member Colin Jost -- so, yeah, this might be a bit of nepotism ... but, for once, no one seems too upset about it. Well, except maybe Sen. Britt.

TAYLOR & TRAVIS 'SNL' STARS TAKE CREDIT FOR ROMANCE ... But Only If It Goes Well!!!
A "Saturday Night Live" comedy trio is taking credit for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's romance -- but only if it goes the distance ... otherwise, they want nothing to do with it.
The topic of Traylor kickstarted when comics Ben Marshall, John Higgins, and Martin Herlihy -- who make up Please Don't Destroy on 'SNL' -- spilled the beans on working with Tay Tay.
They told host Mike Birbiglia on the 'Working It Out' podcast the star told them she had watched Travis' 'SNL' episode before they first met and she liked what she saw.
Ben added that Taylor told them she thought Travis seemed super funny in the clip ... saying that it was in that moment that they kinda, sorta brought them together.
However, Ben shared some serious reservations about taking credit for the Traylor romance -- only 'cause of Taylor's army of devoted fans, the Swifties.
He said that if things were to ever go south between the pair ... they'd be the ones getting roasted over the coals for it.
Travis, of course, got in on the action hosting 'SNL' in March 2023 -- about six months before he went public with Taylor. It's interesting ... they're saying this is when Travis first fell onto Taylor's radar -- but whether she was actually interested or not ... well, anyone's guess.
Travis also appeared in a pre-taped sketch written by Please Don't Destroy, where he played a hilarious self-defense instructor named Kurt Lightning ... so yeah, they have 'SNL' history.
So, there you have it folks .. the story of how Traylor first began!

Drew Barrymore Loves Going Commando ... Beware Pranking Daughter!
Drew Barrymore's all for leaving the underwear in the dresser drawer ... but she says she's gotta keep her head on a swivel -- 'cause her daughter's got a penchant for pantsing.
The actress/talk show host revealed one of her daughters loves to pull her pants down around the house as a prank ... on account of DB walking around without undies on all the time.
Drew was sitting with her cohost Ross Mathews, 'SNL' star Chloe Fineman and singer Boy George when the question of going commando came up ... and Drew was first to admit she's all for feeling free down there.
And, DB's saying she doesn't just do it if she hasn't gotten to the laundry in a bit ... saying she actually enjoys dressing sans underwear -- a choice so well-known in her household it leads to the pantsing pranks.
Barrymore was quick to add her daughter is only doing it as a joke, and she said she's made it clear to her kid it's only an around-the-house kinda gag -- nothing for mixed company or the outside world.
Drew's got 2 kids with her ex-husband Will Kopelman BTW ... 11-year-old Olive and 9-year-old Frankie -- but, she didn't reveal which one's the little prankster.
She's not even the first celeb this week to cop to domestic nudity -- Bradley Cooper revealed he's always fully exposed at home, and even chats with his daughter while he's on the toilet and she's in the tub.
Anyhoo, watch your back, Drew -- or your backside might end up hanging out for all to see!

'Life Goes On' Star Chris Burke Defends Shane Gillis 'SNL' Down Syndrome Jokes
-
Exclusive
Chris Burke, who has Down Syndrome, is defending Shane Gillis over the comedian's polarizing monologue on "Saturday Night Live" ... he's got no issues with Shane making Down Syndrome jokes.
The "Life Goes On" star tells TMZ ... people with Down Syndrome are just like everybody else and shouldn't be excluded from being joked about by comedians.
Chris, the first actor with Down Syndrome to star in a TV series, says it would actually be more offensive for comedians to exclude people with Down Syndrome from being the subjects of jokes.
Shane spent the majority of his 8-minute monologue poking fun at his family ... including a niece who has Down Syndrome ... and he mostly glossed over the 2019 scandal that got him fired from 'SNL.'
Chris says folks shouldn't pass judgment on Shane here because no one knows how he dealt and coped with having a niece with Down Syndrome. As a result, Chris feels Shane isn't making these jokes out of ignorance.
In fact, Shane's jokes kinda jibe with what Chris is saying.
While some people were naturally turned off by Shane, Chris sees some positives.
At the very least, he says Shane's monologue helped start a conversation about Down Syndrome and how people living with the condition are normal folks who can experience all aspects of life, including being joked about.

Shane Gillis Back on 'SNL' After Firing ... Doesn't Tone Down Jokes
Shane Gillis finally took the "Saturday Night Live" stage more than four years after being hired then fired from SNL before his first episode ... and fans are pretty split on his hosting performance.
The comedian stepped out centerstage of Studio 8H in New York City to host the legendary sketch show, and he barely addressed the scandal that got him fired back in 2019 ... instead launching into material that drew the ire of some fans.
SG started, "Most of you probably have no idea who I am. I was fired from this show a while ago. Don't look that up, please. If you don't know who I am, please don't Google that."
And, then he just moved on -- not addressing or apologizing for comments he made back in 2018 about Asian-American people that got him axed.
Instead, Shane decided to launch into a whole new set of jokes that seemingly alienated part of his audience.
He performed several minutes on Down Syndrome before using a pair of words pejoratively which have become taboo in recent years. You can check out the clip for yourself to hear what Gillis said.
Shane seemed to feel the tension in the room, mentioning multiple times that he thought certain jokes would get bigger laughs and adding he could see people clearly not enjoying his set.
He performed in a few noteworthy sketches BTW ... one parodying Donald Trump's new golden sneakers and another alongside cast member Bowen Yang -- the first full-time Asian American on the show who was vocal when Shane was fired.
As for fan reactions ... they're pretty split. Just look up Gillis' name on X. Some people are obviously calling Gillis out for his non-PC comments while others are saying they loved his irreverent set.
Seems like only one way to settle this ... let us know what you think below!

Jennifer Lopez Ayo's Tearful Apology ... 'She Was Mortified'
Jennifer Lopez says Ayo Edebiri delivered an emotional apology on the "Saturday Night Live" set after trashing her vocal skills on an old podcast.
J Lo told Variety about what the 'Bear' star said to her in the wake of these old, ugly comments surfacing the same week they were scheduled to be on 'SNL' together -- and according to her, Ayo had tears in her eyes when she came to Jennifer's dressing room.
Ayo was apparently "mortified and very sweet" and said she felt "terrible" ... that's how Jen's characterizing it anyway. She says AE apologized for calling J Lo's career a scam, full-stop.
Remember ... Ayo was a guest on a podcast in 2020 -- long before she was a big TV star -- when she threw tons of shade at J Lo, particularly ripping her vocal skills in the booth.
The comments bubbled back up literally right before Ayo was set to host 'SNL' earlier this month, the same night Jenny was the musical guest ... when they'd be crossing paths.
Interestingly, Jen now says Ayo actually apologized after she did her soundcheck ... meaning Ayo had the chance to listen to J Lo performing live. Talk about irony, right?
Jennifer says Ayo told her, "I'm so f***ing sorry, it was so awful of me."
Following the dressing room apology, Ayo used a skit to issue a public mea culpa. She didn't mention J Lo by name but said, "It's wrong to leave mean comments or post mean comments just for clout, or run your mouth on a podcast and you don't consider the impact because you are 24, and stupid, but I think, I speak for everyone when I say that from now on, we're gonna be a lot more thoughtful about what we post online."
While it sounds like J Lo appreciated the apology, it seems like the whole situation was a bigger drag on Ayo ... J Lo explains that the mean comments didn't affect her because she's heard similar things said about her throughout her career.
In other words, all's well that ends well.

Shane Gillis Cut a Check & Apologize on 'SNL' ... Asian-American Orgs Open to Reconciliation
-
Exclusive
Shane Gillis has some explaining to do when he hosts "Saturday Night Live" ... according to Asian advocacy group reps who say it's not too late to make amends for his racist remarks.
The comedian is scheduled to host on February 24 ... this after Lorne Michaels fired him from the show in 2019 for making distasteful jokes directed at Asians.
Shane made the comments during a 2018 podcast, referring to noodles as "nooders" and using a derogatory term for Asians in an expletive-laden discussion about Chinatown. Many people remain outraged by Gillis' jokes .. but the comedian is now being offered a path forward if he wants to right a wrong.
Jo-Ann Yoo, the executive director of the Asian American Federation, tells TMZ ... Shane getting tapped to host is bad timing, considering the Asian community has been devastated by a wave of hate that started during the COVID-19 pandemic. She says people in the community don't need to be reminded of the type of rhetoric that caused that trend.
However ... if Shane's serious about making amends, Yoo invites him to cut a check to the org's Hope Against Hate campaign, and join their food tours for a real Asian cuisine experience.
Yoo says she's planning to tune in ... not for Shane, but rather for what she proudly calls the Bowen Yang Variety Hour. Of course, Bowen Yang is the first Asian-American hire at 'SNL.'
Over at The Asian American Foundation, CEO Norman Chen says he hopes Shane has learned from his experiences and expects him to issue a "genuine" apology on 'SNL.'
Chen tells us his org was "disheartened" to hear Shane was invited to host, saying ... "Asian Americans are not the punchline of a joke. While these jokes may result in cheap laughs, they also result in real-world, deadly consequences for Asian Americans."
Comedian Shane Gillis' Racial, Ethnic Slurs Resurface Before Hosting 'SNL'
Now, Shane did apologize on social media after his 'SNL' firing, saying ... "I'm a comedian who pushes boundaries. I sometimes miss. If you go through my 10 years of comedy, most of it bad, you're going to find a lot of bad misses. I'm happy to apologize to anyone who's actually offended by anything I've said. My intention is never to hurt anyone but I am trying to be the best comedian I can be and sometimes that requires risks."
Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.
However, Chen says that apology seems to be scrubbed from Shane's X (formerly Twitter) account, and his foundation wants to know if the apology still stands -- and, if so, a global stage like 'SNL' would be a great place to reaffirm it on camera.
All eyes will be on Shane's opening monologue, plus any skits he does with Bowen.

Jason Kelce I'd Love To Host 'SNL'!!! ... Amazed After Travis' Gig
-
Exclusive
Jason Kelce is ready to follow in his lil' bro Travis' footsteps ... telling TMZ Sports if "Saturday Night Live" wants to make him a host, he's giving an emphatic HELL YEAH!!
The elder Kelce bro is no stranger to Studio 8H -- he famously made a cameo appearance during Travis' debut back in March 2023, even lending his talents during a skit.
So when we caught up with the Philadelphia Eagles great out in Las Vegas during Super Bowl week, we asked if he'd ever want to get his own shot at headlining the sketch comedy show ... and the dude couldn't be more on board.
"Of course, I love 'SNL,'" 36-year-old Jason said. "It's one of the shows I grew up watching, an iconic show of great proportions and hilarity. Yeah, I would obviously do it."
"I was fortunate to watch Travis do it last year and really see what all goes into it. I came away beyond impressed with all the people involved in making that show work and all the talent that was there."
The billing would make a ton of sense -- the Kelces are household names (partially thanks to the Taylor Swift effect and shirtless antics on gameday) and are some of the most charismatic players in the NFL.
We reached out to our 'SNL' sources ... and they couldn't say enough good things about Jason, and would love to have him back in some capacity in the future.
In fact, we're told that could even mean giving him the hosting gig ... which is something he wouldn't take lightly.
"It would be beyond an honor to participate in something like that, for sure," Jason added.
We also mentioned how Jason is no stranger to acting after his recent cameo on "Abbott Elementary" ... and his response proves he'll have no issue making people laugh if those 'SNL' peeps come calling.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.
A veces fallo.
Comedian Shane Gillis to Host 'SNL' After 2019 Firing For Racist Comments
Comedian Shane Gillis Racial, Ethnic Slurs Resurfacing ... Before 'SNL' Hosting Gig
Comedian Shane Gillis is back under the microscope -- with 'SNL' announcing he's hosting, it reminds some people of the racial epithets he used in his podcasting days.
Shane's known for his edgy stand-up comedy -- he's very popular on YouTube and Netflix -- and while he hasn't shied away from his past controversial humor, it's jarring to hear him dropping slurs in the middle of anecdotal jokes.

Lorne Michaels and 'SNL' hired Shane in 2019, but fired him before he ever appeared on the show due to backlash over anti-Asian jokes he'd made on a different podcast.
The offensive content here comes from a podcast called "A Fair One," and Shane delivers some controversial jokes -- or at least the language was controversial ... as he unloaded the n-word, the homophobic f-word, and a particular Jewish slur, too.
Based on Shane's history with 'SNL' ya gotta believe producers know some of this material is floating out there on the internet.
When he got canned back in 2019, he apologized, saying ... "I'm a comedian who pushes boundaries. I sometimes miss. If you go through my 10 years of comedy, most of it bad, you're going to find a lot of bad misses."
He also said he'd apologize to "anyone who's actually offended by anything I've said."
It's fair to assume, 'SNL' feels he's made amends, or evolved as a comedian ... because they've brought him back to host.
Comedian Shane Gillis to Host 'SNL' After 2019 Firing For Racist Comments
If you're familiar with Shane's standup specials, you know he tells plenty of racial and LGBTQ+ jokes -- but the podcast stuff feels even edgier. Definitely not the kinda language you'd expect in his 'SNL' monologue.
Sure, it's late-night programming, but NBC's censors are still up and watching!
We reached out to Shane's team ... so far, no word back.

Comedian Shane Gillis Set to Host SNL ... After Racist Jokes Firing
Shane Gillis is finally going to take the "Saturday Night Live" stage ... four years after he was fired for racist comments before his first episode.
The controversial comedian will host the show on February 24 alongside musical guest 21 Savage -- a little over four years after he was fired from the program after jokes featuring racist and homophobic slurs came to light.
Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.
As we previously reported ... SG was hired back in 2019 before a comment he made on "Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast" the previous year. You can watch the clip above ... it's pretty demeaning language.
Obviously, this comment caused a firestorm ... with an 'SNL' spokesperson saying Lorne Michaels and other execs had sat down with Shane and decided he wasn't the right fit for the show.
Shane responded at the time with the statement, "I'm a comedian who pushes boundaries. I sometimes miss. If you go through my 10 years of comedy, most of it bad, you're going to find a lot of bad misses." He also said he'd personally apologize to anyone who was offended.
Bowen Yang -- the prominent Asian American cast member of the iconic sketch show, who was hired the same year as Shane and is still on the show -- said he was going to sit down with Shane after the decision was made.
Yang will almost certainly appear alongside Gillis in the episode ... unclear if their convo ever went down or how he feels about the embattled comedian.
FWIW ... Gillis hasn't stopped saying controversial jokes over the years -- though perhaps they aren't as inflammatory as his 2018 comments.
However, he's still got fans up in arms over his hosting gig ... with many taking to social media to blast the NBC staple for allowing Shane the platform.
We'll have to wait and see if Shane addresses his firing on the show in a few weeks.
Stay tuned ...

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.
A veces fallo.
