Toby Keith may have died from stomach cancer two months ago, but his spirit was very much alive at Sunday's 2024 CMT Music Awards.

The late country singing legend was celebrated in a big way at the star-studded event by musicians Brooks & Dunn, Lainey Wilson and Sammy Hager, among others.

At the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, Brooks & Dunn kicked things off with a rendition of Toby's 1993 song, "Should've Been a Cowboy."

C.J. Snare -- better known as the lead singer of hard rock band FireHouse -- has died ... TMZ has confirmed.

Snare's daughter, Heather, tells us ... her father passed away Friday afternoon after a lengthy cancer battle. She says his official cause of death is cardiac arrest.

Snare helped form FireHouse in 1987 after his former group -- Maxx Warrior -- broke up. He stayed with the band for nearly 40 years until his death.

Lauren Graham's remembering her almost-boyfriend Matthew Perry ... specifically, the last birthday gift she ever got from him -- and, it reflected his own passion.

The actress opened up about her close relationship with MP during a Q&A Friday on her "Have I Told You This Already?" book tour ... calling Matthew not quite a boyfriend even though he got close.

Cole Brings Plenty -- best known for the "Yellowstone" spinoff "1923" -- has been found dead in Kansas ... this less than a week after he went missing, law enforcement has confirmed.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office said in a statement Friday they discovered Cole -- whose uncle Mo Brings Plenty stars in "Yellowstone" -- late Friday morning in a wooded area after a person noticed an unoccupied vehicle nearby and notified authorities.

Johnson County deputies are currently leading the investigation ... and investigators are still present at the scene. The exact circumstances of his death have yet to be revealed.

The man who died after a pit bull attack at his home suffered a slow and painful final few minutes of life after getting mauled by his own canines ... this according to officials.

The autopsy report for Dominic Cooper is in -- and per the L.A. County Medical Examiner's Office ... the man ended up dying as a result of blood loss and physical exhaustion, which the M.E. notes was directly related to the injuries he sustained in the mauling.

According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, Cooper's pit bulls turned on him one evening at around 7 PM ... with multiple dogs starting to bite him, which they say lasted 5-6 minutes.

9:49 AM PT -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg PD is clarifying the deliveryman only told them he had bite marks from the dog. As for whether officers actually saw those bite marks, the cops won't say -- they'll only reiterate they didn't have enough evidence to charge the deliveryman.

Angie Harmon's deceased dog was not as innocent as she claims ... at least according to the cops.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg PD tells TMZ … they are standing by their decision to not press charges against the Instacart shopper who shot and killed Angie's dog Oliver over Easter weekend.

While the cops will not say how they determined the shopper acted in self-defense, they insist the deliveryman, Christopher, did have bite marks on him from the dog.

Stephen Colbert was choked up as he mourned the loss of his longtime executive assistant, Amy Cole.

An elderly woman was killed in Africa during a safari trip -- this after an elephant charged her party's vehicle ... and flipped it over, which left her fatally wounded.

The unidentified woman 80-year-old was on a safari Saturday in Zambia at the Kafue National Park -- and at one point in the excursion, a bull elephant charges their truck ... and rams into it head-on, all of which was captured in a dramatic video.

The elephant tips over the vehicle, and you can hear panicked screams from the tour guide as well as the patrons -- including what sounds like the woman who actually died.
