Michael Irvin McNabb Belongs In Hall Of Fame But He Ain't Better Than Aikman!!!

HE AIN'T AIKMAN
TMZSports.com

Michael Irvin tells TMZ Sports ... he SUPPORTS Donovan McNabb -- arguing the QB belongs in the Hall of Fame but says he definitely AIN'T better than Troy Aikman.

Remember, McNabb made his case for Canton last week when he appeared on the "TMZ Sports" TV show -- and part of his argument was that his career stats are better than Aikman's.

-- McNabb has 37,276 passing yards, 234 passing TDs and 117 career interceptions in 13 seasons.

-- Aikman has 32,942 passing yards, 165 passing TDs and 141 career picks in 12 seasons.

Of course, the major difference ... Troy has 3 Super Bowl rings. Donovan has none.

So, we spoke with Aikman's #1 target, Michael Irvin, on the "TMZ Sports" TV show (airs weeknights on FS1) and had to ask ... does McNabb have a point???

The Playmaker tells us he's riding with McNabb ... but only so far -- explaining why he believes the ex-Eagles star has the resume to score a gold jacket but he's simply NOT better than Troy.

"It just seems like everybody is talking about numbers and not the number that matters most and that's winning ... that's what playing the game is all about -- winning football games, winning Super Bowls and of course, Troy Aikman has done that."

Irvin also says McNabb played in a different style offense that Aikman -- McNabb's style is more comparable to Patrick Mahomes. And, Irvin says if Troy played in that style of offense, his numbers would have been OFF THE CHARTS!!!

We also asked if he thinks McNabb would have a Super Bowl ring on his finger if he was throwing to Michael Irvin and handing off to Emmitt Smith ... ya gotta hear his answer.

Donovan McNabb I'm A Hall of Famer 'My Numbers Are Better Than Aikman'

WHERE'S MY GOLD JACKET?!
TMZSports.com

Donovan McNabb says he's "absolutely" a Hall of Fame player ... telling TMZ Sports his career yards AND touchdowns should make him a shoo-in for Canton.

"My numbers are better than Troy Aikman," the ex-Eagles superstar says.

McNabb joined the guys on the "TMZ Sports" TV show -- airing weeknights on FS1 -- and said he unequivocally expects to be wearing a gold jacket at some point in his future.

"I'm not hesitating on that. I am a Hall of Famer," McNabb says ... "My numbers speak for themselves."

Of course, D-Mac's been out of the league since 2011 ... which means he's been eligible for the Hall for the past few years -- but has been passed over every time.

When the guys asked Donovan why he thinks that is ... he says he often asks that question himself.

"When they look at my numbers, yeah, but then they always want to add other stuff into it. 'Was he an All-Pro? Was he this? How many Super Bowl opportunities?'"

"But, people don't realize how hard it is to get to the NFC Championship and to get there five times, and then make it to a Super Bowl? It's tough."

For the record, McNabb has 37,276 passing yards, 234 passing TDs and 117 career interceptions. Cowboys legend Aikman has 32,942 passing yards, 165 passing TDs and 141 career picks.

Good news for McNabb ... he says now that his old Eagles team officially has two Hall of Famers -- Brian Dawkins and Terrell Owens -- he thinks his HOF case will be taken more seriously now.

"Maybe that helps the cause going forward."

Freddie Mitchell Donovan McNabb Cost Me $40 MILLION ... He's A Jealous Hater!

I GOT McSCREWED
TMZSports.com

Freddie Mitchell HATED his playing days with Donovan McNabb ... telling TMZ Sports the Eagles QB was a jealous hater who cost him $40 MILLION!!!

"He hated that people loved me more than him," FredEx says.

Of course, Freddie played with D-Mac for 4 seasons from 2001 to 2004 in Philly ... and while it might have seemed like the guys got along back then -- Freddie tells us that ain't the case.

Mitchell says McNabb was jealous of anybody who got more shine than him on the Eagles -- so much so, Mitchell says the QB straight-up refused to throw him the ball!!

In fact, Freddie tells us he thinks Donovan cost him and his family between $20 and $40 MILLION because of his antics ... saying, "It cost me a second contract, you know?"

Freddie is just the latest Eagle to come clean with his hatred toward the legendary Philly QB ... All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson just called him a snake a few days ago.

And why? It all stems from McNabb saying Carson Wentz should be benched if he can't lead the Eagles past the second round of the playoffs.

For his part, Donovan doesn't seem bothered by the all the talk ... he posted a "Winning!" GIF on Twitter on Sunday night with a caption saying, "Deal with it."

Man ... we've come a long way from 4th-and-26.

NFL's Jalen Mills Apologizes For Fight w/ NBA Player 'Will Not Happen Again'

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Jalen Mills is apologizing after being arrested for fighting an NBA player in the streets of Washington D.C. this weekend ... and he swears it won't happen again!

As we previously reported ... the NFLer was arrested early Saturday morning after cops say he beat up Washington Wizards player Devin Robinson outside Opera Ultra Lounge.

FYI, Mills is 6'0", 191 pounds ... Robinson is 6'8", 200 pounds.

Cops say Robinson was reportedly transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for injuries suffered in the brawl. The Wizards have said they will be parting ways with Robinson.

Now, Mills is breaking his silence on the incident ... saying, "In response to the events that took place last weekend, I want to sincerely apologize to the Philadelphia Eagles organization, my coaches, teammates and my fans."

One person is notably missing from apology list -- DEVIN ROBINSON!!!!!

Still, Mills says to his fans, "I can assure you this will not happen again."

After the incident, the Eagles issued a statement saying they're aware of the situation and looking to get more info. So far, they have not said if Mills will be punished by the team but it seems likely.

As for Robinson, details about his injuries and current condition are unknown.

Mills was a key part of the Eagles' 2017 Super Bowl team -- and had 9 tackles in the big game.

He started at corner in 2018 but suffered a foot injury which sidelined him for the 2nd half of the season.

Eagles & Wizards Players Jalen Mills, Devin Robinson Arrested for Fighting in D.C.

Two professional athletes from the NBA and NFL, respectively, were busted by cops this weekend after allegedly getting into a brawl on the street.

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Jalen Mills and Washington Wizards forward Devin Robinson were both arrested early Saturday morning outside of the Opera Ultra Lounge in D.C. and cited for disorderly affray, which is cop talk to fighting in public.

It's unclear if either of the men were sent to jail, but Devin was reportedly taken to a hospital afterward.

According to a police report, obtained by the AP, Jalen and Devin were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated into a physical altercation on the sidewalk adjacent to Opera. No official word on what exactly led up to the alleged fight, but reports have come out suggesting Devin was pissed Jalen was in town ... but didn't play for a D.C. team.

Both players will probably feel the fallout of their alleged actions -- especially Devin, who's already out of a job next season.

The Wizards released a statement saying they wouldn't be extending Devin a contract for the 2019-20 season. He played seven games for the Wizards this year but mostly spent time playing in the G League.

Meanwhile, the Eagles say they're aware of the incident and are looking to gain more info.

DeSean Jackson Gunnin' For Super Bowl With Eagles ... 'We Chasin' Jewelry!!!'

FEELIN' THE LOVE

Forget stats ... DeSean Jackson says he's only about one thing in his return to Philly -- THE SUPER BOWL!!!

"We chasin' some jewelry," the wide receiver tells TMZ Sports at LAX ... "We're tryin' to stack it up on the wall, man!"

Of course, D-Jax just left Tampa Bay to make his triumphant return to Philadelphia -- where his NFL career all began -- and he says this time around it's all about rings.

In fact, the dude seems downright excited to have a shot at getting his first-ever SB trophy ... tellin' us, "They got some good things going on, I'm just happy to be an addition to that."

Jackson's fired up about his quarterback too, saying Carson Wentz is "a baller" and he "can't wait to go put that work in with him and get on that right track and do my thing."

As for the Bucs ... Jackson tells us he's got no hard feelings after moving on from them despite having one year left on his deal there -- saying he's already spoken with Jameis Winston about it all.

"Sh*t, the city's a good place, man. It's just unfortunate -- like I was just talking to Jameis -- it didn't work out or whatever."

"But the city's a good place, man. We just wasn't able to get it done on the field."

Herschel Walker Steelers Are Big Losers ... In Antonio Brown Trade

LOSS TO PITTSBURGH
TMZSports.com

Herschel Walker says the Steelers took a big L in their trade with the Raiders ... telling TMZ Sports Pittsburgh didn't get nearly enough in return for Antonio Brown.

"It's sad because Antonio Brown is a heck of a player. I think everybody knows that. So, I think that's going to be a loss for Pittsburgh."

If you missed it, the Steelers gave AB away over the weekend to the Raiders for just a 3rd-round pick and a 5th-round pick in next month's NFL draft.

It's interesting ... 'cause Oakland got a 1st-rounder for Amari Cooper last year from the Cowboys, while the Lions got a 3rd-rounder for Golden Tate from the Eagles.

Brown is unanimously considered to be better than those two ... which is why Walker can't understand how Pittsburgh didn't get MORE for the future Hall of Famer.

"It's strange because with a guy as talented as Antonio Brown, you assume they'll get something out of it."

As for this trade changing the future of the Steelers in a way similar to how HIS trade from the Cowboys catalyzed Dallas back in 1989 ... Walker tells us why that's just not possible.

Marcedes Lewis Jaguars Should Sign Nick Foles ... But Don't Break The Bank!!!

HE'S THE MISSING PIECE
TMZSports.com

Jacksonville legend Marcedes Lewis says the Jags would be a great fit for Nick Foles ... but tells TMZ Sports the price has to be right, saying the deal should be worth just $16-$17 mil per year.

Of course, Foles is set to hit the open market next week after the Eagles decided to let the QB walk... and Jacksonville has already become the favorite to land the former Super Bowl MVP.

In fact, some reports have indicated the Jags are so high on him ... he could command a $20-plus MILLION deal per season.

But, Lewis seems to think that'd be a mistake -- saying Jacksonville should only ink him to a short-term, $16-$17 million per season contract.

And, why?? Marcedes says Foles shouldn't be viewed as the long-term answer ... but rather a bridge to a QB Jacksonville pick in next month's NFL Draft.

As for the QB Marcedes would select there ... he tells us why he prefers Dwayne Haskins over Kyler Murray.

There's more ... the Pro Bowl tight end also weighed in on NFL combine freak show D.K. Metcalf -- and as a fellow big man with an insane physique -- he even gave the young WR some advice!!!

DeSean Jackson Hated His Time W/ Chip Kelly ... 'Sh*t, It Wasn't Good'

HARD FEELINGS
TMZSports.com

DeSean Jackson hated his one season with Chip Kelly SO much ... the dude says he's trying to forget it even happened -- telling TMZ Sports, "Sh*t, it wasn't good."

Of course, Chip's disastrous run as the Eagles coach is back in the news this week after Michael Vick said he legit CRIED over the way Kelly handled Philly's QB competition in 2013.

When we got D-Jax out at the EA Sports Madden Bowl event in Atlanta on Thursday night ... he backed up his former teammate -- saying playing for Chip sucked.

"He broke up a team that we felt could've done something special for a long time. So, I don't respect him."

In fact ... the 3-time Pro Bowl receiver tells us he's trying to block out that whole part of his NFL career -- saying it pisses him off remembering it.

"I really just try not to say too much about him, because that's a part of my life where it's kind of just some bull stuff that happened through that period."

FYI ... Jackson DID have the best year of his career under Chip in 2013 -- posting 1,332 receiving yards and 9 TDs.

Sooo ... least enjoyable Pro Bowl season ever???

Mark Ingram Nothing But A Towel ... For Saints' Dance Party

011419_keith_kirkwood_kal_3
GETTING TURNT

No shirt, pants OR undies were required at the Saints' postgame locker room celebration Sunday ... 'cause Mark Ingram got down with his bad self in nothing but a towel!!!

It all went down just minutes after New Orleans finished off the Eagles, 20-14, in a playoff win at the Superdome ... when the Saints turned their locker room into a nightclub.

The smoke was blowing ... the lights were flashing ... and that's when the Saints star RB took center stage to show off his best dance moves -- almost completely naked!!!

The rest of the New Orleans squad got in on the fun (with clothes on) ... Teddy Bridgewater hit his signature "Choppa Style" dance move, and a Saints staffer even got down in a Rascal scooter!

New Orleans is off to the NFC Championship game for the first time since 2009 ... so the celebration seemed warranted.

As for what the locker room will look like next week if they beat the Rams to make the Super Bowl?? Stay tuned ...

Kevin Hart Backs Nick Foles As 2019 Starter ... If He Wins Super Bowl

011019_kevin_hart_eagles_kal
FOLES IN CONTROL
TMZSports.com

If the Philadelphia Eagles win another Super Bowl, they should cut the crap and make Nick Foles the full-time starter for the 2019 season ... so says Kevin Hart.

Kev is a HUGE Eagles fan (remember when he drunkenly tried to grab the Lombardi Trophy last year?) ... so when we saw him leaving the Barstool Sports offices in NYC on Thursday, we asked how he'd solve the looming QB battle.

TMZ: "If Foles wins you guys another Super Bowl, what do you do with Carson Wentz?"

Kev: "We tell Carson Wentz that he is the reason for our success ... we have to go with Foles right now 'cause Foles is the hot guy."

He continued, "Doesn't mean that Carson Wentz isn't our guy, but ultimately you gotta understand the underdog and the underdog story. Foles is helping build that story."

The QB issue is becoming a hot topic -- because Foles is now 4-0 in his last 4 playoff games ... and the team is playing pretty great right now.

Here's the problem ... if the Eagles want to keep Foles they'd have to pick up his $20 MILLION option -- which Foles has to approve. Lotta cash to spend on a backup QB.

Another option ... the Eagles could franchise Foles for $25 mil and then trade him if the plan is to go with Wentz as the starter.

Decisions, decisions ...

Bradley Cooper Forget The Globes ... My Eagles Won!!

His movie lost ... but his football team WON!!

After getting shut out at the Golden Globes for "A Star Is Born," Bradley Cooper found comfort in his Eagles jacket on Monday ... after his team beat the Chicago Bears in the NFL playoffs.

Cooper is a HUGE Eagles fan -- he's from Philly and famously played an Eagle-aholic in "Silver Linings Playbook."

He was rocking his throwback Eagles jacket Monday morning in L.A. -- so, when we saw him at the TLC Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, we had to ask him about The Birds.

CHEESIN' FOR A REASON
TMZSports.com

The Eagles have some tough sledding ahead ... they take on the New Orleans Saints at the Mercedes Benz Superdome on Sunday in the NFC Divisional Round.

The Eagles are 8 point underdogs -- the biggest underdogs of the NFL playoff weekend. It's not surprising considering the Saints wiped the floor with the Eagles when they faced off in Week 11 ... beating Philly 48 to 7.

But hey, any given Sunday ... right?

Tom Brady Clearly In Decline ... Says Ron Jaworski

122018_ron_jaworski_patriots_kal
NOT YOUR NORMAL TOM
TMZSports.com

Ron Jaworski says it's evident Tom Brady's in decline ... 'cause the football analyst says it's obvious the Patriots legend has lost strength in his throwing arm.

"Watching tape and watching games on TV, I think there's a little bit lost in his fastball," Jaws tells TMZ Sports.

The ex-Eagles QB says it's most apparent when Brady throws the deeper balls -- 'cause Ron is seeing a whole lot more rainbow passes than TB12's normal line drives.

"He's missing throws that I see him normally make ... I think at this point -- and it shouldn't be shocking -- he's losing a little bit of his fastball."

Jaws tells us Brady's decline is only ONE of the reasons the panic button needs to be pressed in New England ... 'cause Ron's got major concerns about the roster overall.

"I think Bill [Belichick] probably misplayed a few of his hands in building this football team."

Good news for the Pats?? They end their season with two of the worst teams in football -- the Bills and the Jets.

So, even if dynasty's coming to an end -- 11-5 ain't the worst way to go out, right??

Ron Jaworski Sides With Wentz In Eagles' QB Debate ... Foles Will Be Gone In '19!

LUCKY SITUATION
TMZSports.com

Sorry, Nick Foles ... even though you've got the Philly train back on track (again) -- Carson Wentz is STILL the Eagles' future ... so says Ron Jaworski.

The legendary Eagles quarterback says there is no QB controversy in his mind ... telling us despite Foles rescuing Philly yet again this season -- Carson's still the man.

"Carson Wentz is the Eagles' future," Jaws tells TMZ Sports.

In fact ... Ron says he believes the team thinks so highly of Wentz -- they'll let Foles walk in the offseason to another team.

"I believe his next opportunity will be somewhere else, not in Philadelphia," Jaworski says.

Don't get it twisted ... Ron LOVES Nick, saying what the QB has done for the Eagles is "legendary" -- and he even wore a St. Nick tie in the QB's honor!!

BTW -- when we spoke with Jaws about the Eagles in December last year -- he correctly predicted Philadelphia's improbable Super Bowl run ... but ya gotta hear why he ain't doing the same this time around.

Nick Foles Oozes Swag In Webbed Shoes ... After Resurrecting Eagles' Season

121918_nick_foles_kal
SWEET KICKS
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Nick Foles is clearly FEEEELIINNN' himself after lifting the Eagles from the dead right back into the playoff picture -- 'cause dude wore a pair of webbed-toe shoes to work Wednesday!!!

The Vibram EL-X's ain't exactly known as Jordans in the football world ... but Nick still rocked 'em with pride at Philly's presser Wednesday -- showin' he doesn't need anyone's approval to swag out.

"I was wearing them around the house and figured I'd wear them to the facility and try it out. My wife thought I was a little crazy, but I said I'm not really worried about how I look. They're comfy."

SWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGG!!!!!

Foles has done things unconventionally throughout his career ... but it's paid off for the dude -- he's got a Super Bowl MVP and has Philly right back in the mix again this season.

So, who are you to tell B.D.N. his shoes are for squares?!?!?!

Asante Samuel Defends Marcus Peters ... I Used To Call Out Hecklers' Moms!

SAME AS IT EVER WAS
TMZSports.com

Asante Samuel says he doesn't blame Marcus Peters one bit for going off on a heckler Sunday ... 'cause he used to go hard at trash-talking fans too -- by callin' out their moms!!!

Peters has drawn serious criticism for exploding on a guy during the Rams-Eagles game ... but Asante tells TMZ Sports that kind of fan-player interaction has been going on for years.

In fact ... the ex-Eagles corner says he used to go after dudes in the same fashion -- talking trash about everything from fans' kids to even their moms!!!!

121718_marcus_peters_wm_4452256
CHECKIN' THE MAN

"That was me all day. Somebody would get on my nerves and I would say the most harshest thing. I'd talk about your momma. I don't care. If you talk about me, I'm going to come talk about you!"

Samuel says the incidents were frequent too ... and the only reason people think it's happening even more nowadays is because of social media.

His solution to it all?? "Leave the football players alone!!!"

BTW ... we also asked Samuel for his take on the Eagles' QB situation -- and the former Philly DB tells us which quarterback he'd start if he were in Doug Pederson's shoes.
