Reese Witherspoon put her checkered (and awesome) past with cops behind her today ... and donned a police uniform ... right here on American soil!

Reese is playing a police officer in her new movie, "Don't Mess With Texas" ... alongside Sofia Vergara. They're filming down in Louisiana -- where Reese recently did some Karaoke with Kenny Chesney.

Sofia definitely looks like she needs to be frisked, but Reese ... make sure you know her name before slapping the cuffs on her.

Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley is a shell of himself -- looking shockingly frail today as he leaned on others for support ... days after admitting he nearly died from years of hardcore drinking.

Deryck had to be held up by two women during a walk in Los Angeles.

On Friday, Deryck revealed he'd been laid up in a hospital bed for a month, and confessed on his blog... "the reason i got so sick is from all the hard boozing i’ve been doing over the years. it finally caught up to me."

Deryck says his liver and kidneys collapsed, and docs have told him if he has one drink he will die.

The damage is obvious when you remember how Deryck looked in his heyday with Avril Lavigne.

The difference between Leonardo DiCaprio in a nightclub and everyone else -- including Justin Bieber -- is pure numbers.

Leo had the ear (and probably a lot more later) of hot chick after hot chick last night in Cannes -- as he held court at Gotha Club ... which, based on photos, does not allow any women under an 8.

Paul Walker's brother Cody made Malibu beachgoers do a double take Monday as he shot scenes with Tyrese, Vin Diesel, Ludacris and Michelle Rodriguez for "Fast and Furious 7."

Cody is filling in the gaps ... shooting Paul's unfinished scenes. As TMZ first reported, Cody and his brother Caleb will also do voice work to match Paul.
