Chad Johnson NFL Comeback Talk Was a Joke ... 'I'd Embarrass Myself'
Chad Johnson is sticking a fork in his NFL comeback ... telling TMZ Sports IT AIN'T HAPPENIN' ... 'cause he says his body's "too f**ked up" to play anymore.
The 39-year-old tweeted the N.Y. Giants for a tryout earlier this season after Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall went down with season-ending injuries.
And after the way he balled out with legit NFL superstars during off-season training sessions, it seemed Ocho was serious about one last hurrah with the pros.
So, when we saw Chad on his way out of the Apple Store in L.A., we asked him straight-up how the comeback was coming along.
Spoiler: It's not.
But Chad explains why he needed to finance his new, expensive iPhone X and it's pretty hilarious.

Odell Beckham Jr. hopped out of bed a week after undergoing ankle surgery and the look on his face says it all -- it ain't no fun.
The New York Giants WR was seen for the first time since suffering a horrific left ankle injury last weekend against the San Diego Chargers. He was leaving his crib in crutches and a large walking boot and on his way to physical therapy.
OBJ underwent season-ending surgery and posted a pic on Instagram from his hospital bed thanking everyone for their prayers ... but it's pretty clear he'd rather be prepping for the Seahawks on Sunday.

Al Michaels My Bad ... Harvey Weinstein Joke Wasn't Cool
Al Michaels thought it'd be funny to compare the NY Giants sucking to Harvey Weinstein's sexual harassment/assault allegations on NBC's "Sunday Night Football."
It wasn't ... but at least he apologized for it (and in record time!!).
"I mean, let's face it -- the Giants are coming off a worse week than Harvey Weinstein, and they're up 14 points,” Michaels said in the 3rd quarter of Giants vs. Broncos.
FYI -- the Giants lost Odell Beckham Jr. for the year to a nasty injury, a player was suspended, and just about everything else went wrong.
The legendary sports announcer ended up apologizing early in the 4th, telling viewers it was "not meant in that manner."
The Giants won, 23-10. As for Weinstein ... his situation is very different.

Anthony Scaramucci Stick a Fork in the NY Giants ... They Suck!
Anthony Scaramucci says the NY Giants are an absolute dumpster fire -- but they're still probably gonna beat the crappy Browns.
Mooch was leaving Craig's in West Hollywood -- and since he's such a proud New Yorker and NFL fan, we asked how he felt about losing Odell Beckham Jr. for the season.
"I'm more disappointed about the 0-5 record -- it's been a disaster. They're done now," Scaramucci told TMZ Sports.
He even busted out some stats to illustrate just how terrible the G-men are this season.

Chad Johnson: Back Off Odell Beckham ... and Marvin Lewis!
Chad Johnson says the NY Giants should be very careful on how they handle Odell Beckham Jr. -- because if they get on him too hard for the dog pee celebration, it's gonna mess up his head.
Look, Chad says Odell is special ... and if going crazy on the field helps him dominate, so be it. The worst thing you can do is neuter him ... get it?
We also asked if it's time to fire Marvin Lewis in Cincinnati -- after the team's 0-3 start.
Chad not only goes to bat for his old coach, but explains why he's the best thing that's happened to the Bengals franchise in a long time.

Eli Apple's Mom War Over NFL Star's NCAA Rings ... After Nasty Divorce
The mother of NY Giants cornerback Eli Apple is locked in a bitter war with the husband she JUST divorced -- cops are involved ... and Eli's college championship rings are caught in the middle.
You know Eli's mom -- her big, outgoing personality earned her a gig on ESPN right around the time he was drafted in 2016.
TMZ Sports has learned ... Annie Apple and Tim Apple (the man who raised Eli) split and their divorce was finalized back in June. They were married for 16 years and Eli even took Tim's last name in 2012.
But things have gotten bad and the family is divided.
Eli's brother, Dane Blackson, tells us ... Annie arrived to the family home in NJ on Wednesday with a police officer in tow looking to take back a bunch of Eli's football memorabilia.
Some of the items she wanted include the 2014 Big Ten and National Championship rings Eli won at Ohio State.
But Dane says he refused to hand over the rings, claiming Eli gifted them to Tim as a thank-you for helping him get a scholarship to OSU in the first place.
Things got contentious ... but police tell TMZ Sports no one was arrested and Annie eventually left without incident.
So, what will happen with the rings? Both sides believe they have a valid claim to them. Sounds like Eli will have to personally get involved to help work things out.
We reached out to Eli and Annie for comment -- so far, no word back.

Eli Manning Busts Out Terrible Dance Moves ... In Locker Room Turn Up
The ENTIRE New York Giants squad turned the locker room into a club on Tuesday -- including Eli Manning ... who proved, without a doubt, to be the goofiest dancer on the team.
It all went down after practice -- everyone from Odell Beckham to Jason Pierre-Paul and Duke Ihenacho bumped the music and busted out their best dance moves.
Then the camera panned to Eli ... who was doing a sort of jig, shuffle thing. He looked like the high school prom chaperone.
Didn't stop the rest of the guys who went even more H.A.M. when Young Thug's "Pull Up on a Kid" started playing.

NYG WR OVI Arrest Is BS ... Prosecutors Agree
NY Giants wide receiver Roger Lewis -- who was famously part of Odell Beckham's Miami yacht party -- claims his OVI arrest last month was unlawful ... and now he's essentially off the hook.
We broke the story ... Lewis was stopped on June 4 in Reynoldsburg, Ohio when an officer said he was speeding in a car with illegally tinted windows. During the stop, Lewis was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of either drugs or alcohol.
Lewis says he was immediately placed in handcuffs, searched and patted down -- for essentially no reason. After that, he was told to submit to field sobriety tests.
Lewis claims he was told the tests were mandatory. They were not. But he took them anyway and was eventually arrested for OVI.
His attorney, Neil Rosenberg, says the tests were "compelled" and that everything from the arrest was unlawful.
Prosecutors must have felt that Lewis had a point -- because a plea deal was struck in which the OVI charge was dropped in exchange for Lewis pleading guilty to driving in marked lanes and tinted windows.
In total, he paid $175 in fines -- a pretty solid victory for Lewis ... who's now off to Giants training camp.

Giants Co-Owner Steve Tisch Kaepernick's Hair Ain't A Problem He's Not Being Blackballed
Steve Tisch says Michael Vick is dead wrong about Colin Kaepernick ... telling TMZ Sports his hair has nothing to do with his NFL return, because Tisch doesn't think he's being blackballed.
We got Steve, the co-owner of the NY Giants at Craig's out in L.A. and asked him if he thought there was any truth to Michael Vick's controversial statements about Colin Kaepernick's appearance.
Vick said Kaep should cut his afro to show NFL teams a cleaner cut look, with the thinking being that chopping his locks could make him more presentable to owners afraid of his off-the-field activism.
Tisch flatly told us he didn't think it was about the hair, and when we asked if he believed Colin was getting blackballed at all -- something a lot of NFL players think -- he said "No."

Brandon Marshall Walks Off Radio Show After Things Turn Racial
NY Giants WR Brandon Marshall proclaimed, "Black guys in America get treated differently" -- then he left.
That's essentially what transpired during a radio interview with Kirk & Callahan on WEEI early Thursday morning after the hosts asked Brandon about racial comments he made in 2015.
Quick backstory ... 2 years ago, Marshall said, "White players, specifically at the QB position are treated differently."
The radio hosts asked BM about that comment today when bringing up Tom Brady's Deflategate suspension -- but Marshall wasn't having it.
After reiterating his stance on how black men are treated in the U.S., Marshall told the hosts to change the subject or else he would leave.
It seemed as though the hosts were going to ask Brandon about his history with the law -- but Marshall cut 'em off and ended things before they could finish the question.

Odell Beckham Swarmed By UCLA Students ... After Summer Workout
Odell Beckham got all sorts of love at UCLA on Thursday after an intense summer workout on the Bruins' intramural fields ... but ya gotta watch the exit, when the NFL star hops fence like a ninja warrior.
The NYG wideout spent a few hours doing some speed training down in Westwood -- and a crowd of students gathered around to watch (why not, right?!).
After the workout, Odell invited the crowd over for a massive Instagram photo sesh -- where he signed autographs, shook hands and just bro'd out with the fans.
But the best part is when it's time to leave ... and Odell decides to jump the fence with his Giants helmet on.
Dude's a freak athlete.

Eli Manning Breaks the Law Hits Court In Summer Frat Boy Attire
Eli Manning is a convicted road menace!
For real ... the NY Giants quarterback was in a New Jersey courtroom Wednesday where he was actually found GUILTY of the heinous crime of driving on the shoulder.
For shame!!!!!
TMZ Sports has confirmed Manning was pulled over on May 24 when cops saw him driving on the shoulder on the Jersey turnpike to get around bad traffic so he could get to the next off-ramp.
We're told he was cited for careless driving and ordered to appear in court -- where court officials tell us he pled guilty to obstructing the passage of other vehicles.
The punishment? An $89 fine. Boom.
Clearly, Manning wasn't too concerned -- he was cool and casual at the courthouse in his best Polo shirt, shorts and Nike combo ... with a baseball cap tucked in the back of his pants.
Oh, and Eli had backup -- NY Giants head of security Mike Murphy (in the green shirt) was with him the whole time.

Cris Carter Gay Slurs Pissed Off Odell Beckham
Cris Carter says Odell Beckham Jr. admitted he was upset about homophobic slurs that were hurled at him before the infamous Giants vs. Panthers game in 2015 ... and insinuated the slurs came from Josh Norman.
Carter appeared on "Undisputed" on FS1 and talked about the conversation he had with Odell on Thursday during a workout at an L.A. gym.
Carter says they spoke about OBJ's rivalry with Josh Norman -- and Cris said it was very clear "homophobic" slurs (along with other disrespectful comments) set him off that day.
Nick Wright -- who's co-hosting 'First Things First' with Carter -- also spoke with Beckham and said Odell mocked the media for constantly speculating about his sexuality.

The two WRs hooked up at Brick gym in L.A. -- where Carter dished out a few route-running tips before focusing on OBJ's mitts.
It's hard to make out exactly what Cris said but the message seemed pretty clear -- work on stretching out the wingspan on your hands!!
At one point, Carter tells Odell that he should hire someone to work on his hands the way they work on his body -- "These are your moneymakers right here!"
Beckham has been MIA from Giants' OTAs all week -- but we're guessing the team will be happy to see he's still working out ... right?

We broke the story ... Beckham Jr. missed Giants' OTA (a voluntary practice) on Monday 'cause he was in L.A. ... running drills with Johnny Manziel. He also skipped Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday's practice.
It didn't stop there ... Odell bowled with Iggy Azalea (and a group of friends) Monday night in L.A. ... igniting a firestorm of speculation about a possible relationship.
Azalea, and sources close to Beckham both told us they are NOT dating ... but still, Irvin's been there, and his advice to OBJ makes a lot of sense.
