Colin Jost is off the hook from his Olympics coverage duties in Tahiti after a week of injury drama, starting with his toe wounds ... which he quipped invite ants to move in if he stands still too long.

Yep, things really went south for NBC’s 2024 surfing correspondent since landing in French Polynesia -- it was injury after injury ... kickstarting with a nasty run-in with a coral reef last week, which left three of his toes wrapped in gauze.

Colin had a good laugh about it, even joking his WikiFeet fame might take a hit. But right now, the only thing crashing the scene could be ants -- something he told NBC’s Maria Taylor he never saw coming.

Zac Efron's swimming pool incident started when he dove into the water ... the dive was so deep, he hit the bottom of the pool and ingested water into his lungs ... TMZ has learned.

Sources close to the situation tell us Zac went for a swim with friends very early Saturday morning in Ibiza when he decided to take a dive.

We're told Zac ingested a large amount of water into his lungs when his chest hit the bottom of the pool on the dive ... and he showed signs of distress and onsite security helped him out of the water.

Legendary film director David Lynch says he's suffering from emphysema ... but that's not stopping him from continuing his passion for creating art.

Lynch – best known for his 1980s hit movies "The Elephant Man" and "Blue Velvet" – jumped on X and posted a message Monday, saying his emphysema -- a lung disease -- was caused by years of chain smoking despite putting down cigarettes for good two years ago.

Still, he says medical tests show he's in wonderful shape and that's why he refuses to retire from his acclaimed career.

3:48 PM PT -- When asked why Efron was taken to the hospital for a minor incident, his rep once again reiterated it was purely a precautionary measure. However, the rep did not say what caused him to be in distress in the pool.

2:38 PM PT -- The rep for Efron did not reply as to how this could be a minor incident when he was taken out of the pool and sent to the hospital.

12:47 PM PT -- Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... Zac was found inside the swimming pool by two people working at the villa who pulled him out of the water.

Zac Efron was taken to a hospital in Spain after an incident in a swimming pool, but he's doing just fine now ... TMZ has learned.

A rep for Efron tells TMZ ... Zac was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure after what they describe as a "minor swimming incident" at a villa in Ibiza Friday night.

We're told he was released from the hospital this morning, and he's recovering just fine.

Sharon Stone just served up an update on the black eye she got during her Turkish getaway ... easing fans’ worries about her gruesome injury.

The Paris Olympics received a bunch of criticism for the Seine River's cleanliness, with reports of high levels of E. coli and other bacteria present ... but officials believed the quality was good enough for Wednesday's triathlon, which in addition to the swim, also includes cycling and a 10km run.

The triathletes battled it out on both land and in the water ... and it all took a toll on Mislawchuk, who looked very unwell at the finish line.

Pax Jolie-Pitt’s electric bike crash was so intense that the people who rushed over first thought he might have died right there on the spot ... TMZ has learned.

Eyewitnesses tell us ... the people living on the L.A. street where Pax crashed his BMX-style e-bike into a car Monday thought he was a goner when they saw him lying still on the ground -- that is, until he regained consciousness when paramedics arrived at the scene.

We’re told Pax’s bike looked fine and didn’t show any obvious signs of damage from the impact ... but we're told PJP himself was out cold, and had folks incredibly worried. BTW, our sources say the area this happened in isn't far from where Angie herself lives.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's son, Pax Jolie-Pitt, is one lucky guy after police say he smashed his electric bicycle into a car on a busy L.A. street ... TMZ has learned.

The 20-year-old was riding Monday on Los Feliz Blvd. around 5 PM -- so, rush hour on a heavily trafficked street -- and as he approached a red light, he rammed into the back of a car stopped at the intersection ... according to law enforcement sources.

We're told the driver of the car got out to check on Pax, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Police and paramedics arrived on the scene, and witnesses tell us Pax was experiencing hip pain, and had apparently suffered a head injury ... so, he was rushed to an L.A. hospital for treatment.

Donald Trump was grazed by a bullet during the assassination attempt ... at least that's what a ballistic expert gleans from the way the former president's injured ear is healing.

Leonard Romero -- a forensic firearms examiner who's worked alongside the LAPD and several other law enforcement agencies in this field -- tells TMZ … Trump's ear healing so quickly isn't evidence he wasn't hit (as some have suggested), but on the contrary ... it's actually consistent with a graze from a bullet, as opposed to a more direct impact.

The way Leonard, explains it ... a graze only impacts the skin's surface -- it's more like a scrape or a scratch, and doesn't cause heavy damage, even when the bullet is from an AR-15 assault rifle, as was the case here.

Baltimore Orioles catcher James McCann was drilled in the nose by a 95 MPH fastball on Monday ... but incredibly, the guy shook it off and stayed in the game!!

The scary scene went down just minutes ago in the Orioles' tilt with the Blue Jays at Camden Yards ... as McCann was facing off with Toronto pitcher Yariel Rodriguez.

Former "Love Island" star Luca Bish landed in the hospital after he got banged up pretty bad.

Check out this video Luca posted Saturday to his Instagram ... it shows him seated in a wheelchair as he's being carted through the medical facility with his extended leg in a brace while gripping a pair of crutches.

Bish did not provide details on how he suffered his injury, but he added a touch of humor to his painful sitch by playing Ed Sheeran's song, "Thinking Out Loud," which includes the lyrics: "my legs don't work like they used to before."
