It's happening ... it's really, really happening ... *NSYNC is reuniting on the VMA stage -- this according to the band's official Twitter.

It's kind of ironic ... Twitter didn't even exist when *NSYNC was famous -- but that didn't stop the boy band from all-but-confirming their HIGHLY anticipated MTV performance in 140 characters or less, writing, "mic check, mic check one ... two ... is this thing on?!"

Joey Fatone has arrived to New York ... where he's rumored to reunite with *NSYNC at the MTV VMAs this weekend ... but when we asked him about it, he seemed to be LYING like a rug.

Don't get us wrong ... he totally denied being in NYC for the alleged performance. But c'mon Joey ...

Now we're no Columbo ... but we think we know when someone's playing games with our heart (wrong band, but you get the idea).

So, we gotta ask ...

Jason Collins is not currently the member of any NBA team, but he's part of a different club of sorts these days ... and membership gets you a congratulatory handshake from Lance Bass.

We spotted Collins and Bass outside Boa in West Hollywood Friday night. Collins was there with his twin brother Jarron and Bass was there with a group of buds. Our photog asked Jason about his dating life ... but the bballer prefers to keep his personal life close to the vest.

With no signs of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez or the other guy, former *NSYNC boy banders Joey Fatone and Lance Bass -- along with LB's boyfriend Michael Turchin -- reunited to celebrate the last day of April with some lunch in Beverly Hills on Tuesday.

Here's 20-year-old pop sensation Miley Cyrus in NYC last week -- and former 'NSYNC member Lance Bass back in 1999.

One of them used to date "Boy Meets World" star Danielle Fishel.

JC Chasez was one of THREE members of *NSYNC who was NOT in attendance at Justin Timberlake's wedding this weekend ... but he watched two OTHER people say "I Do" ... TMZ has learned.

Just like Joey Fatone and Lance Bass ... JC didn't make the trip to Southern Italy to see his former boy-bandmate JT tie the knot to Jessica Biel.

Instead, JC had more important plans -- his brother was getting married in Orlando, FL.

We're told JC had planned to go to his bro's wedding for over a year -- and had previously informed Justin it was a top priority he just couldn't miss.

As we previously reported, Joey spent his weekend in L.A. (it's unclear if he was even invited) ... and Lance was at an event in San Diego.

Sporting his new wedding ring, Justin Timberlake was spotted out in Fasano, Italy this morning ... after tying the knot with Jessica Biel yesterday.

Some of the famous peeps in attendance reportedly included JT's pals Andy Samberg and Timbaland, as well as Jessica's former "7th Heaven" co-star Beverly Mitchell.

The couple had been engaged since December after splitting for a brief time in 2011.

Former N'Sync star Joey Fatone was partying it up in L.A. last night -- which means HE WAS NOT at Justin Timberlake and Jessica's Biel's magical Italian wedding on Friday (gasp!).

Our photogs caught up to Joey outside Xen Lounge in Hollywood and when we asked if he went to his boy JT's wedding ... his response was pretty obvious, stating, "I'm here, ain't I? Isn't it this week?" (Yes Joey, it was).

Might sound crazy, but it ain't no lie ... one of the guys from *NSYNC changed the lyrics from "Bye Bye Bye" to include a line about anal sex ... and no, it wasn't Lance Bass.

It all went down Monday night at O'Shucks Karaoke Bar in Orlando, FL ... when Chris Kirkpatrick (the one who had the dreads) took the stage and busted out the N'SYNC classic with one of his buddies.

But when it came time to bust out the chorus ... Chris raised his middle finger to the crowd and joked, "But it ain't no lie ... baby f**k her ass."

The crowd laughed and continued to booze as Chris proceeded to rock out the rest of the song.

Lance Bass celebrated his birthday a week early this year -- like a BOSS -- treating himself and several friends to a lavish, alcohol-fueled trip to the Caribbean ... and TMZ has learned Lance paid for the entire thing.

A rep for Lance tells TMZ, the former *NSYNC singer flew his boyfriend (above) and 10 friends to St. Martin from last Thursday to Sunday -- and stayed in a luxury villa at the island's La Samanna Resort & Hotel that ran $4,000-a-night.

Lance also sprung for a day of jet skiing at $100/hour ... got a private V.I.P. table Saturday night at Tantra nightclub.

We're told the final bill totaled $20,000 -- but the hotel stepped in and comped a bunch of stuff, including the hotel room. Still, Lance sprung to cover the balance ... which wasn't too shabby ... and his friends didn't have to pay a dime.

Hulk's story backs up the claim made by TMZ's Mike Walters -- that wrestlers will press a finger on the bottom end of an opponent in an effort to throw them off their game ... aka "Checking the Oil."

According to Hulk, who was at LAX yesterday, Andre would oil-check people "all the time" -- and the worst part about it ... HIS FINGERS WERE HUGE!!!

TMZ has learned the Fatone family is moving and EVERYTHING must go -- including Joey's Death Star replica, his personal Sword of Omens from Thundercats, arcade games, furniture, art, dishes, grill utensils ... all the way down to his clothes and shoes.

In fact ... since everything in the house is marked with price tags -- it looks like the only thing not included in the sale is the kitchen sink.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... Chasez was getting ready to leave his Hollywood Hills home Wednesday morning, when he noticed someone had taken $150 in cash and 2 pairs of designer sunglasses from his 2005 Mercedes SLS.

Chasez filed a police report -- and told cops he has surveillance cameras on his property that may have captured the incident.

It's the third time Chasez's had a brush with crime in the past 6 months -- back in November, Chasez scared off an intruder who was trying to break into his home. And days before that, someone successfully jacked thousands of dollars worth of music equipment from the property.

Fatone put a bunch of old stuff up for sale outside his home in Windermere, FL. There wasn't a lot of *NSYNC memorabilia up for sale, except for a few generic items. Our guy on the scene bought a puzzle (above bottom) for $5.00 and had Joey sign it for another $10.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Chasez reported a break-in within the last week -- claiming someone got into his place and took thousands of dollars worth of music equipment.

We're told Chasez was not home at the time of the break-in -- which he believes went down during the day -- but called authorities as soon as he realized things were missing.

As TMZ first reported, Chasez confronted an intruder who was trying to break-in to his home through a window earlier this week -- and scared him off. Police tried to track down the perp ... but were unable to locate him.
