The CEO of CBS is being accused of sexual misconduct ... and the network says it's investigating and the allegations are being taken seriously.

Les Moonves is being accused of unwanted kissing and touching 20 years ago in an article -- written by Ronan Farrow -- set to be published Friday in the New Yorker, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

CBS says its Independent Directors teams is looking into the claim and "Upon the conclusion of that investigation ... the Board will promptly review the findings and take appropriate action."

Meanwhile, CBS stock has plummeted in wake of the news ... losing about 7 percent of its value.

Roseanne Barr took a crack at an on-air apology to Valerie Jarrett for posting a racist tweet about her, but it didn't go too well ... especially at the very end.

Roseanne was speaking on Sean Hannity's show Thursday night about her notorious tweet and the fallout that came after, when Hannity gave her a chance to look at the camera and say sorry to Jarrett.

Barr used the opportunity to drop a sort of half-apology, but even that was better than how she decided to wrap it up -- by insulting Valerie's haircut.

Roseanne's TV appearance comes after she's been hard at work with her son to create her own content, with the mission being -- ironically -- to get her unfiltered and true story out there -- not the media's.

As you know ... Roseanne's hit ABC show was canned after she compared Valerie to an ape on Twitter. She's tried to excuse it away -- first by blaming Ambien, then by claiming she thought "the bitch was white" -- while also alleging ABC really fired her because she's a Donald Trump supporter.

ABC has since revived "Roseanne" with a reboot/spin-off centered around the Conner family ... but without Roseanne, of course.

Nancy Grace ain't shedding any tears for convicted sexual predator Larry Nassar -- essentially saying the fact he was attacked in prison is nothing short of karma.

"Oh, boo hoo!! Nassar is having to be bullied and attacked by people bigger than him? I wonder how that feels ... maybe he should ask some of his victims!"

Grace says she's NOT happy to hear about the prison attack on Nassar -- but she doesn't feel bad about it either.

"I absolutely believe we should do more to stop assaults behind bars," Grace told us at LAX on Wednesday ... "I'm not happy about it."

As we previously reported, Nassar's attorney filed court docs saying he was assaulted in the general population section of a federal prison in Tucson back in May.

Nassar blames the judge from his criminal case -- claiming she encouraged other inmates to target him.

Sarah Palin thinks President Trump might be on to something good with his idea to invite Vladimir Putin to the White House ... because world leaders gotta work together.

We got Sarah at LAX Friday and asked her about Trump's questionable and surprising invite ... and in fact, she tells us it's "really wise" to get the Russian Prez to America so he can understand what we're all about.

As for whether she's worried the move could go sour, the former Governor of Alaska says we won't know 'til we try, and we can't just go off what the media wants us to believe ... so it's worth a shot.

Speaking of Alaska ... we all know it's America's closest Russian neighbor, but Sarah says her home state has nothing to fear with this Putin situation either -- at least not on her watch.

Elon Musk has fallen on the sword after lashing out in anger ... calling one of the Thailand rescuers a pedo.

Musk says he made the comment in anger, after British diver Vern Unsworth said Musk was guilty of a "PR stunt" by bringing a mini-submarine to Thailand to rescue the soccer players and their coach. Unsworth said the sub would have been useless in the rescue effort.

That's when Musk went on Twitter and called him a "pedo."

Musk now says, "My words were spoken in anger after Mr. Unsworth said several untruths ... Nonetheless, his actions against me do not justify my actions against him, and for that I apologize to Mr. Unsworth and to the companies I represent as a leader. The fault is mine and mine alone."

Although Musk deleted the "pedo" tweet, Tesla stock fell 3% Monday, although it more than recovered Tuesday.

Kim Basinger held a photo of dead dogs skinned and hanging on hooks to protest the dog meat trade in Korea, but Priscilla Presley took it a step further ... by holding an actual dead canine.

We talked to Kim at the protest, which went down in L.A. Tuesday at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea, and she says the demonstration is about speaking out against what's wrong ... and killing dogs is definitely wrong.

She admits the dog meat trade has been part of Korean culture, especially with the older generation in S. Korea ... but she thinks it's time for a change.

The protest itself got very graphic. Basinger and many others from the group Last Chance for Animals held signs with disturbing images reading "Stop Dog Meat" ... while Presley and a few other women looked to be holding dead animals.

Other celebs at the protest included Donna D'Errico and EG Daily and Basinger's boyfriend, Mitch Stone. There were also 2 more protests in D.C. and Seoul.

The poor dead dogs were reportedly recently euthanized and provided by a local L.A. vet for "shock factor."

Donald Trump's doing something a tad out of the ordinary for him -- taking back a comment he made ... but only after saying his message SHOULD have been obvious.

The Prez just issued a clarification after siding with Vladimir Putin over the U.S. intelligence community, claiming it was all a big misunderstanding because he flubbed a single word ... by saying "would" when he really meant "wouldn't."

We've all been there ... right?

Trump wants to make it clear now -- he fully supports the intelligence community's conclusion that Russia meddled in the 2016 election ... though he still believes it had no influence on the result, and suggests maybe they weren't alone.

The woman in this photo is the only person in the world who might give an honest assessment of what went down in the private, 2-hour meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.

Her name is Marina Gross. She works for the State Department as an interpreter. Gross has worked for the State Dept. for years. We know back in 2008 she accompanied then First Lady Laura Bush to Sochi.

Gross also served as a translator for then Secretary of State Rex Tillerson back in April 2017 in Moscow.

There have been calls to subpoena Gross before Congress to testify about what went down in the meeting between the 2 leaders. If a subpoena is issued, it would almost certainly meet with resistance from the White House.

Vladimir Putin was asked straight-up why so many of his political rivals end up dead ... and his response shows he has plenty of knowledge about what's going on in America. Maybe too much.

The Putin grilling came NOT courtesy of President Trump -- as some hoped it would -- but instead from FOX News correspondent Chris Wallace. The Russian President's answer covered a lot of ground ... including calling out the U.S. for the assassinations of JFK and MLK.

Most interestingly ... he pointed out the battles of "several ethnic groups" in the U.S. with police -- making it clear he's plugged into societal issues here.

Christian Slater's throwing a jab at President Trump for the summit with Vladimir Putin, but not for his words ... this one's all about spending $300k on the summit.

D.L. Hughley's joining the ranks of some other celebs and athletes to say good riddance to John Schnatter, and says he isn't surprised 'Papa John' used a racial slur ... because he's a "horrible dude."

We got the comedian at LAX Saturday and asked if he was done with Papa John's pizza ... he tells us he has been for a while now, for the same reason ex-NFL star Thomas Jones told us -- it's s***ty.

D.L. has some other reasons, too -- saying Schnatter's completely disrespectful -- and jokes that maybe he took the same Ambien as Roseanne Barr.

Hughly also suggests the Papa John's founder is simply racist, and says if he wants to use the n-word like Colonel Sanders did he can ... but nowadays -- it'll cost ya big time.

As we reported ... Schnatter resigned from the University if Louisville's Board of Trustees and stepped down as chairman of Papa John's International this week after huge backlash over his comments made on a company conference call in May.

Surveillance video shows George Clooney on his scooter smashing head-on into a sedan, and how terrifyingly high he was launched into the air.

TMZ broke the story ... George was doing 60 mph when the Mercedes-Benz cut him off, but this video -- recorded by a nearby surveillance cam -- shows the Oscar winner was thrown nearly 20 feet straight up above the Benz.

You can see Clooney come smashing back down to the ground after the collision. He landed just inches from the front of a truck waiting at the intersection. The video shows something else that's new -- a second scooter. Someone riding next to George narrowly dodged the car, just milliseconds before he wrecked.

As we reported, George was briefly hospitalized for bruising on his arm, leg and pelvis.

Dan Rather says he can handle a little Hollywood interference to make a Thailand cave rescue movie, because the story is just that great.

We got the CBS News legend Tuesday in NYC hours after it was announced that all 12 boys from a youth soccer team and their coach were successfully saved from a flooded cave after being trapped for more than 2 weeks. Dan had 1 word for it this AM ... any guesses?

Our camera guy also asks what he makes of Hollywood types rushing to crank out a movie about the rescue, which Dan acknowledges is definitely going on and seems to frown upon.

THEY'RE ALL OUT!!!

The Thai Navy SEALs have safely rescued all 12 boys and their soccer coach from a flooded cave in Northern Thailand where they've been trapped since June 23.

Thai officials made the announcement Tuesday -- confirming the final group of 4 boys and the coach were freed on day 3 of the rescue mission.

However, officials say at least 3 Navy SEAL divers and a doctor are still inside the cave. Officials are asking people to "send your support to them."

All of the boys who have been rescued -- members of a youth soccer team age 11 to 16 -- will be hospitalized for at least a week, according to officials ... but, right now, they're in good spirits.

A few of the boys have already been reunited with their families -- and friends of the players are excited to shower the kids in gifts and food.

Two of the boys are being treated for potential lung infections -- but they're expected to make a full recovery.

One Navy SEAL -- Sgt. Major Saman Gunan -- died during the rescue operation last week while trying to forge the escape path for the boys.

Kim Kardashian West met one-on-one with several prisoners to discuss what it's like being locked up ... and their concerns about going back into the real world.

Sources close to the situation tell TMZ ... Kim arrived at the California Institution for Women in Corona Friday afternoon with a few bodyguards and first toured the grounds and living quarters.

Then, she met with 15 women to get a picture of what their day-to-day lives are like behind bars, how they feel about it ... and what their hopes, plans and anxieties are once they are released.

We're told Kim was there for several hours, and her trip is part of her mission to create a program for women to help them adjust to real life once they get out of prison.
