X GON' GIVE IT TO YA
Apple

Apple unveiled the much-hyped iPhone X -- and it's both pretty awesome and pretty damn expensive!!!

The announcement came Tuesday morning at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple's new HQ in Cupertino, CA ... where the final item introduced was the iPhone X. The new phone has a radical new design -- no more home button, edge-to-edge display and a bunch of other cool features:

-- Animoji tracks 50 facial muscle movements to create your own emojis

-- Wireless charging

-- And, of course, Face ID to unlock the iPhone X

It unlocks after recognizing your face and only when you look directly at it. It won't unlock if you're facing away. There was a hiccup when the X wouldn't unlock but a backup phone solved the issue.

For those concerned about safety ... facial recognition data is stored on a chip in the X and NOT sent to an Apple or third-party server, per Apple, which added there's a 1 in 1,000,000 chance that a random person can unlock your iPhone X.

The iPhone X starts at $999 and pre-orders start October 27. They ship November 3. Apple also unveiled the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, new AppleWatch and AppleTV. The company next year plans to unveil AirPower, a charging station for multiple Apple products.

Miss America Trump Screwed Us On Climate, Charlottesville

NOT HERE FOR IT

The new Miss America says President Trump missed the boat on climate change -- and her fellow contestants went after POTUS too during the Sunday night competition in Atlantic City.

Cara Mund, Miss North Dakota, went directly after Trump when she was asked about the U.S. pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord -- saying it was wrong to take us out of the negotiations ... especially because there's evidence of climate change.

Unlike other beauty pageant contestants in recent years -- it was a remarkably succinct and informed response. Likewise, Margana Wood, Miss Texas, took a jab at the Prez over Charlottesville.

The Miss America crown is just the first step for Cara ... who says she wants to be the first female Governor of North Dakota.

No swimsuit competition for that race.

As for the new season of "This Is Us" ... Chrissy's also got some prep ideas ahead of the second season's Sept. 26 premiere.

Hemingway House The Kitties Are OK Irma Spares Key West

The cats who call the Hemingway House in Key West home are all safe and accounted for after the bulk of Hurricane Irma spared the island city ... TMZ has learned.

Staff members that work at the Hemingway House tell us all 55 cats -- and the people who stayed behind to care for them -- are a-okay at the property ... which itself is still standing and suffered no major structural damage.

We're told all 10 Hemingway occupants, including manager Jacque Sands, lucked out big time since Irma left significantly less destruction than in the other Keys. Sources tell us while there are a few trees down on the estate, everything else at the house appears to be fine.

The Hemingway House also avoided major flooding. A source at the National Weather Service tells us Key West only saw a water surge of about 3 feet as opposed to the 15-20 feet anticipated throughout the Keys as Irma approached. We're told Key West was in the eye wall -- the strongest part of the hurricane -- for 2 hours. Water has begun to recede as Irma moves north.

As a result, those at the house are not currently inundated by water unlike Miami -- but are staying inside until winds die down.

As for those 6-toed cats ... talk about nine lives, huh?

Hurricane Irma Miami Quickly Becoming Atlantis ... Streets Flow Like Rivers

Miami is starting to look like a city that's underwater due to massive flooding from Hurricane Irma ... and some of the footage of the city is insane.

Streets in downtown Miami are literally becoming rivers, and even shops and storefronts are getting buried in water. This video shows store owners looking at rising currents right outside their own window.

Sources at the National Weather Service tell us the surge of water in Miami has gotten as high as 6 feet.

The city is flooded beyond recognition, and is even starting to cause damage to some structures. A piece of American Airlines Arena has been torn down from the high velocity winds. Two cranes at the top of a high-rise in DT have snapped off as well ... but luckily didn't plunge down below.

And as you might imagine, trees are falling over left and right in Miami and surrounding areas.

Irma is expected to rip into the rest of Florida through Sunday.

Richard Branson Necker Island Devastated by Irma

Richard Branson's private Caribbean island was virtually decimated by Hurricane Irma ... and TMZ has learned there were some animal casualties.

TMZ obtained these photos, which vividly show the power of the storm on Necker Island. The main house was all but destroyed and some of the surrounding structures are gone.

As we reported, Branson and his crew weathered the storm from a basement and they all survived.

Branson had an awesome menagerie of exotic animals on the property and we're told a number of them didn't make it through the hurricane ... but many did. We're told 250 flamingos are going strong, as are 60 lemurs.

We're told all of the parrots and toucans also survived. Our Necker Island sources say Branson converted his wine cellar into an animal hospital and shelter for the injured, weak and scared.

Branson shared some photos and video of the wreckage himself Sunday, and it only confirms the damage to his home.

He says he's now mobilizing aid efforts in Puerto Rico.

STAYIN' PUT!
TMZ.com

Rapper Jim Jones is riding out Hurricane Irma, but he won't be going hungry because his Miami crib is stocked to the brim with a 2-year supply of his favorite cereals!

We spoke with the rapper who told us mostly what we've been hearing about getting out of South Florida before the storm hits ... gas is gone, the flights are booked and traffic to get to Orlando is so bad the ride's taking 12 hours.

Jim says he had no alternative but to stay -- even after trying the private jet route -- and doesn't sound like he's in a panic over the 185 mph winds hurling his way ... thanks to his bunker stash of cereal.

Bill Nye Cataclysmic Hurricanes The New Normal

GET USED TO IT!
TMZ.com

Bill Nye can't say definitively Hurricane Harvey or Hurricane Irma are connected to climate change, but he's quick to add if you play the game, Connect the Dots ... it's a no-brainer.

We got The Science Guy Friday at Burbank Airport and he has no doubt the mass destruction we've been seeing is proof positive we're in big trouble. The scariest part, though -- he says we just gotta get used to it.

Bill also takes a shot at President Trump without saying his name.

Demi Lovato Volunteers In Houston With Kevin Hart & Chris Paul

Demi Lovato's on a mission to help with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, and while volunteering at the Houston Food Bank she ran into Kevin Hart and NBA superstar Chris Paul.

We're told Demi donated 50,000 bottles of water to the food bank after hearing about price-gouging in the area -- and she set up a fundraising initiative with the food bank after donating $50k of her own dough.

Chris and Kevin were helping unload trucks and serve food. We're told the trio randomly bumped into each other and snapped a quick pic.

Other celebs like Justin Bieber, Drake, Reese Witherspoon, Jaimie Foxx, Blake Shelton and more are also set to lend their support with relief efforts during Tuesday night's telethon.

Mariel Hemingway Tells Manager of Hemingway House Get the Hell Out!!!

PLEASE LEAVE!!!
TMZ.com

Mariel Hemingway is pleading for the 72-year-old manager of her grandfather's Key West home to evacuate before Hurricane Irma hits ... just take the cats and get out of Dodge.

The Oscar-nominated actress and granddaughter of Ernest Hemingway tells TMZ ... she thinks it's noble Hemingway Home's manager, Jacqui Sands, plans to stay put to hold down the fort and take care of its kitties -- but it's just not worth it.

Mariel offers Jacqui another option -- pack up the cats and GTFO.

As we reported ... the 1850's home -- where Hemingway wrote "A Farewell to Arms" and "The Snows of Kilimanjaro" -- is almost certainly going to be an Irma casualty, and cops say they won't be able to help Sands if she stays.

Mariel admires the manager's courage ... but fears she might be taking one of Ernest's famous quotes a little too far.

LOCK 'EM UP
TMZ.com

Dog the Bounty Hunter's got ZERO sympathy for fugitives seeking shelter as Hurricane Irma heads to Florida. He says throw 'em in the pokey ... however, there's a huge BUT.

We got Dog with his wife, Beth, leaving Craig's Thursday night in WeHo and we asked him for his take on a Florida sheriff warning fugitives they'll be jailed if they seek shelter as Irma levels its way to FLA.

For those who don't know what the Polk County Sheriff's Office said ... "If you go to a shelter for Irma and you have a warrant, we'll gladly escort you to the safe and secure shelter called the Polk County Jail."

Dog agrees ... but only to a point.
