Donald Trump Back to the States Back to Ripping 'Fake News' Media

Donald Trump is back in the U.S.A., and one of his first orders of business was addressing the American people ... about the "Fake News" media ... on Twitter, no less.

Trump went on an early morning Twitter rant Sunday to dump his latest thoughts after returning from his first foreign trip in Europe and the Mid East. Perhaps unsurprisingly, he ripped what he calls the "Fake News" media.

In a series of tweets, the Prez told his 30.8 million followers if they see the words "sources say" without mentioning names, it's possible the news story is fake. He also said Fake News is the "enemy."

Our sources say Live Nation will produce the event. All proceeds will go to the victims and their families.

The cop who cited Greg Gianforte for allegedly body slamming a reporter ... has also supported the candidate's run for Congress.

Gallatin County Sheriff Brian Gootkin admitted making a donation to Gianforte's campaign during a Thursday news conference. The Sheriff also said he's interacted with Gianforte socially, however he insisted it would not be relevant to how his department handled the case.

As we reported, Gianforte was charged with misdemeanor assault after reporter Ben Jacobs accused him of the Wednesday body slam. Gianforte's gone radio silent, but through a rep he's put the blame on Jacobs.

Gootkin's news conference came smack dab in the middle of election day. Polls close at 8 PM in Montana.

Montana Politician Greg Gianforte Body Slams Reporter

9:50 PM PT -- Greg Gianforte has been cited for misdemeanor assault by local authorities. Cops found that the nature of Jacobs' injuries did not meet the statutory elements of felony assault. Gianforte has between now and June 7 to appear in Gallatin County court.

6:20 PM PT -- Jacobs called cops after Gianforte's alleged attack to report an assault, and is reportedly getting X-rays on his elbow at a local hospital.

Gianforte's camp just released a statement ... they claim Jacobs entered the office without permission and began aggressively asking questions, and when Greg tried to grab the phone pushed in his face, Jacobs "grabbed Greg's wrist, and spun away from Greg, pushing them both to the ground."

A Montana politician running for congressional office body slammed a reporter ... and the sounds of the scuffle were caught on audio tape.

Greg Gianforte -- who's gunning for a House seat in Congress in a special 2017 election -- slammed Guardian reporter, Ben Jacobs, Wednesday in Bozeman, Montana during an event ... around local TV crews, at that. He then yelled to "Get the hell out of here!"

Jacobs tweeted about the incident, saying Gianforte "broke my glasses."

The reporter's question about the GOP healthcare bill seemed to spark the attack, but it's unclear if Gianforte faced any repercussions. Jacobs was quick to get the audio to the Guardian, which posted it soon after.

Jacobs also shared a photo of his broken glasses ... as he was being taken away in an ambulance.

Manchester Bombing Screws, Backpack and Acid Battery Photos Surface

Pics of what appear to be the remnants of the backpack bomb that exploded in the foyer of Manchester Arena have surfaced ... and they show the nuts, screws and trigger used to kill 22 people and injure 59.

Manchester Bombing Social Media Tribute Flag Was Jacked But Artist Is Honored

The Manchester tribute flag you're seeing all over the Internet was created by an artist who never signed off on his work being used by millions of people ... for free, mind you -- and yet he's not pissed.

Mark E. Tisdale, who's American, tells TMZ he created the original art back in 2013. He was surprised to see it become such a uniting symbol for the Manchester tragedy ... posted by tons of people, including David Beckham.

Mark says, obviously, he didn't design the flag years ago with tragedy in mind. However, in light of the bombing ... he's glad it's being used to help bring people together on social media.

And while his art's mostly being spread without crediting him ... he says he has gotten a lot more traffic on his website where he sells his digital art.

Mark's planning to donate any dough he makes off the Manchester flag to relief efforts.
