'Narcos' Producers War with Pablo's Bro ... This Is OUR Turf!

"Narcos" producers are warning Pablo Escobar's brother to back the hell off trying to cash in on the popular Netflix show's name and fame ... according to docs.

Lawyers for "Narcos" fired off a cease and desist letter to Roberto Escobar's company telling him he's got no business filing trademark applications for "Narcos" and "Cartel Wars" because both terms are very clearly already attached to the show. "Narcos: Cartel Wars" is a popular video game.

In the letter, obtained by TMZ, the producers say Pablo's older bro is making some outlandish claims in his applications. For instance, they say he claimed to use "NARCOS" in connection with a website in 1986 -- but they're calling BS because the internet barely existed back then.

A rep for Escobar's company tells us their attorney is in discussions with "Narcos" to settle.

Discussions. What could go wrong?

Netflix's 'Narcos' Location Scout Shot & Killed On the Job in Mexico

A location scout for Netflix's hit show "Narcos" was shot and killed this week while working in Mexico ... this as the upcoming season shifts its focus to Mexican drug cartels.

Carlos Muñoz Portal was found shot to death Monday in central Mexico during location scouting for season 4 of "Narcos." He was reportedly found riddled with bullets in his car in a remote area near Hidalgo, which is known to have one of the highest murder rates in Mexico.

Netflix issued a statement saying ... "We are aware of the passing of Carlos Muñoz Portal, a well-respected location scout, and send our condolences to his family." Police are currently investigating the circumstances of Portal's death.

The new season of Narcos is expected to focus on the origins of the Juarez cartel in Mexico, and filming was supposed to go down there as opposed to Colombia where past seasons were shot.

Unclear if Portal's death will derail production.

Shonda Rhimes Goodbye, ABC ... Hello, Netflix!

Shonda Rhimes is down with Netflix and chill ... the megaproducer is leaving ABC and taking her talents to the streaming service in a blockbuster deal.

Shonda -- the creator of "Grey's Anatomy," "Scandal" and "How to Get Away with Murder" -- will take her ShondaLand production team to Netflix in a multi-year deal. It's unclear how much Netflix paid to swoop her away from the Disney-owned company, but she'll be getting more than she got at ABC.

While 'Grey's' and her other shows will remain airing on ABC, Shonda will develop new projects exclusively for Netflix, as first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

Shonda's the latest producer to bail from broadcast TV to Netflix. Chuck Lorre, the brainchild behind "Two and a Half Men" and "Big Bang Theory," is there as well. Jenji Kohan, the creator of "Orange is the New Black" and "Weeds" also jumped ship.

Teen Actor Griffin Gluck High School's Great But ... I'm Making HUGE TV Money!!!

Actor Griffin Gluck is growing up and cashing checks ... scoring a sweet contract to play a high schooler on Netflix's new true crime satire, "American Vandal."

Griffin -- known for playing family son roles on movies like "Just Go With It" and "Why Him?" and the TV show "Private Practice" -- landed the series regular role of Sam on the upcoming mockumentary ... at a rate of $7,500 per episode.

Gluck's in all 8 eps ... so that comes out to $60k. Not bad for a 16-year-old.

It gets better -- if 'American Vandal' gets picked up for a second season, he gets a pay hike -- $10k an ep ... and $12,500 if there's a season 3.

You go, Griff.

The show premieres September 15.
