Washington State Football Bryce Beekman Dead At 22 ... Cops Investigating

Police are actively looking into the death of a 22-year-old Washington State football player after he was found dead Tuesday in his apartment, TMZ Sports has learned.

Bryce Beekman -- who started all 13 games at safety in 2019 -- was one of top players on the WSU defense. He was 5th on the team in tackles last season.

But, cops in Pullman, Washington received a call to Beekman's apartment around 5:44 PM on Tuesday for a person with "breathing problems" ... and when they arrived, it was too late.

No official cause of death has been released but a spokesperson for the Pullman Police Dept. tells TMZ Sports there is an active investigation into the situation, as with all death cases.

Beekman was well-liked by his teammates and coaches -- several of whom have already commented on social media.

WR Renard Bell wrote, "Fly high. Forever my dawg." Offensive lineman Liam Ryan added, "Cherish your loved ones. Every second matters."

WSU Athletic Director Pat Chun made a statement Wednesday morning, "Bryce was a tremendous young man, great teammate and will be missed by all."

"We send our deepest condolences and prayers to the Beekman family and his many friends."

Beekman -- from Baton Rouge -- transferred to the Cougars last January from Arizona Western Junior College and wore #26 as a tribute to the late great NFL safety Sean Taylor.

Unfortunately, the WSU football program knows what it's like to suddenly lose a player -- back in 2018, quarterback Tyler Hilinski took his own life in an apartment near campus.

THE COMEBACK KID

The 2020 NFL Draft just got a whole lot more interesting ...

Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa -- who suffered a devastating hip dislocation injury just 4 months ago -- looked impressive as hell in a new workout vid ... and it's got us all wondering, could he now be the #1 overall pick???

Tua nearly lost his football career on Nov. 16 in a game against Miss. St. ... when the 22-year-old was sacked and gruesomely injured.

You can see in footage of the tackle, he landed awkwardly on his hip ... fracturing a bone in the area -- while also breaking his nose and suffering a concussion.

The injuries were considered career-threatening ... but Tua underwent surgery just days later -- and as you can see in a new workout vid he posted Monday night, he's clearly making an epic comeback.

Tua was cutting in both directions, and his arm seemed as lively as ever.

"Practicing social distancing with the long ball today," Tua said. "Feels good to spin it again.🤙🏾 #Process"

Of course, most NFL draft pundits have the Cincinnati Bengals taking Joe Burrow at #1 in the next month's draft ... but could this video have them rethinking things??

LSU Frat Bros Arrested for Tearing Up Football Field ... Late Night Dumbassery

Golfcart Joyride LSU
STRAP IN

WORST CRIMINALS EVER???

Two LSU frat bros and a female companion were arrested this week after cops say they broke into Tiger Stadium and whipped a suped-up golf cart all over the football field, causing a ton of damage!

And, the worst part ... they probably would've gotten away with it -- but cops say one of the guys returned to the field a few weeks later AND DID IT AGAIN!!!

The main suspect is 19-year-old Clayton Fleetwood -- who allegedly snuck into the stadium with a buddy just after midnight on January 21 and got behind the wheel of a red Kawasaki Mule, a fast-moving utility vehicle.

Officials say Fleetwood and his pal, Thomas English, proceeded to drive the Mule all over the grass -- causing at least $8,000 in damage to the grounds, which had just been upgraded with a new drainage system.

Cops say they shot footage of the joy ride, which eventually made its way to social media. NOT SMART!

They eventually left the stadium ... but cops say Fleetwood returned on Feb. 8 with another pal -- 20-year-old Catherine Nowery -- and once again, Fleetwood grabbed a Mule and tore up the field.

Officials say surveillance video shows the two "talking, kissing, and drinking what appear to be alcoholic beverages."

Cops received anonymous tips about the suspects and officials were able to track all 3 perps down ... matching school ID photos to the surveillance video.

Also, the President of Delta Chi called school officials and confirmed the two men in the viral video were members of his frat.

Eventually, all 3 people were arrested and hit with a bunch of criminal charges.

Fleetwood is facing felony burglary, misdemeanor trespass and felony unauthorized use of a vehicle. Jackson is facing felony burglary and felony unauthorized use of a vehicle. Nowery is facing misdemeanor criminal trespass and felony unauthorized use of a vehicle.

LSU ... never a dull moment!

LSU's Justin Jefferson I Took OBJ's Money & Paid It Forward ... To My Church!!!

Remember when Odell Beckham was handing out wads of cash to LSU players after winning the national championship??

Turns out, that act of kindness just helped a good cause ... because Justin Jefferson says he donated the moolah to his local church!!

Of course, giving money to college players is the biggest NCAA violation of them all ... and JJ says he had to meet with the org.'s compliance department to get the situation sorted out.

Jefferson spoke about the infamous incident at the Combine on Tuesday ... saying, "We knew he shouldn't have done it," according to Philadelphia Inquirer reporter, Les Bowen. "It was in the heat of the moment."

The money created a HUGE headache for LSU -- a school rep initially claimed the dough was fake. And then, superstar QB Joe Burrow blew that theory out of the water when he told Barstool Sports the cash was as real as it gets.

LSU self-reported the incident to the NCAA -- and the players involved are not expected to be hit with serious punishment.

But, pro tip ... maybe keep the cash in your pocket next time, Odell?!

Ohio State Football 2 Ex-Players Face Up To 33 Yrs In Prison ... In Rape Case

The two Ohio State football players who were kicked off the team last week after they were accused of rape and kidnapping are now facing up to 33 YEARS behind bars ... TMZ Sports has learned.

As we previously reported ... a woman claims she was forcibly raped on Feb. 4 in the Columbus, Ohio area by two Buckeye players, senior corner Amir Riep and senior safety Jahsen Wint.

According to court docs ... the woman claims she went over to Riep and Wint's apartment to watch a movie, but was later restrained by both men and forced to have vaginal and oral sex.

Now, we've learned the two football players -- who were booted from the OSU team just hours after they were arrested -- are facing DECADES in prison over the allegations.

According to the indictment Friday, the two men were hit with 3 felony charges apiece -- two counts of rape and one count of kidnapping.

"If convicted on these charges, both men face a maximum consecutive term of 33 years of incarceration as well as registration of sex offenders," Franklin County District Attorney Ron O'Brien said.

The two men are due back in court for a hearing on the case next month.

For Ohio State's part, head coach Ryan Day said after he kicked the two off his team ... "I am not making any statement on the criminal charges, but it is clear they did not live up to our standards and my expectations."

BALL BUSTER

WORST POLE VAULTING INJURY EVER?!!?! Maybe ...

"I could see right into my scrotum."

That's probably the last thing you wanna say after a pole vault training sesh ... but it's exactly how BYU athlete Zach McWhorter is describing his pole vs. balls injury.

The 21-year-old was having a pretty typical training session at the BYU track -- recording it to post on TikTok -- when disaster struck.

At first, it seemed like a standard jump ... but McWhorter's pole didn't fall the way it supposed to and essentially impaled his scrotum.

YOWWWCH.

McWhorter told BuzzFeed he was immediately rushed to the hospital by his dad/coach/urologist ... where he needed 18 STITCHES to get patched up.

Luckily, the dude says he only has a scar from the incident. As for any permanent damage, McWhorter says "One day, we'll find out if they function or not."

Ice up, Zach. And, maybe wear a cup from now on??
