Here's your tearjerker moment of the week -- Alfred Molina is talking about his dad, who didn't approve of him being an actor ... even though he kept tabs on his boy in private.

The veteran thespian sat down for an interview with Vanity Fair, and he recounted this heartbreaking story about how his father completely rebuffed his dream to pursue acting and to get into showbiz ... something that created a years-long divide between them.

AM says he actually gave us a higher-paying job in his youth to dive into his craft -- which was his passion -- and when he broke this news to his dad ... he got the cold shoulder.

12:29 PM PT -- Harvey Weinstein's rep, Juda Engelmayer, tells TMZ ... their legal team is curious to see if prosecutors can whip up the right witnesses to do this again. He says he believes one of the original complainants perjured herself already ... so they don't think the D.A. has a case.

If they do wanna run it back, though, Engelmayer says Weinstein is up for the challenge ... despite his health issues. He says HW has a renewed glimmer of hope and restored vigor.

Harvey Weinstein is going to be put through the wringer again in criminal court out in New York -- because prosecutors say they're retrying him ... which will happen later this year.

Daniel Radcliffe isn't folding to J.K. Rowling's ongoing crusade on speaking out about transgender issues -- instead, he's standing pat with the LGBTQ+ community.

The 'Harry Potter' star was asked about the saga in a new interview with The Atlantic -- and he says the whole thing with J.K., who created 'Potter,' makes him really sad.

He adds, "I do look at the person that I met, the times that we met, and the books that she wrote, and the world that she created, and all of that is to me so deeply empathic." DR goes on to say that when he pushed back against J.K. a few years ago, he felt he needed to.

The drama between Melissa McCarthy and Barbra Streisand over an Ozempic question ain't over yet ... 'cause Richard Simmons is now weighing on the matter.

In a Facebook post Tuesday night, the legendary exercise guru threw his full support behind Melissa while calling out Barbra for asking the slimmed-down McCarthy if she was taking the weight loss drug.

Richard started by writing, "I love Melissa McCarthy…. I have seen every one of her movies."

The Rock got into a tiff with Ryan Reynolds while they were working on a movie together years ago -- and while it wasn't a blowup fight as has been suggested, it was a real thing.

Barbra Streisand is catching a lot of heat on social media after questioning whether Melissa McCarthy used Ozempic to achieve her recent look.

It all started Sunday ... Melissa – who has long struggled with weight issues – posted a photo of her slimmer self with friend and film director, Adam Shankman, as they attended the Centre Theatre Group Gala in L.A.

As you can see, Melissa looked terrific in her light green dress with a matching blazer alongside the stylish Shankman. She captioned the image with a combined message of going to the event with Shankman and getting closer to her dream of dancing onstage.
