Margot Robbie is the go-to gal for toy-inspired movies after "Barbie" ... this time passing go and collecting laughs with the movie adaptation of the classic board game, "Monopoly."
The actress and her production company, LuckyChap, are teaming up with toy giant Hasbro Entertainment and Lionsgate to take a trip around the board and bring it to life for the big screen ... news that just came out Wednesday at CinemaCon.
The "Monopoly" movie concept has been brewing for a while now, with actor Kevin Hart and director Tim Story reportedly attached to the project back in 2019.

LeVar Burton is officially in on the game ... 'cause after lengthy contract negotiations he's sealed the deal on his gig with "Trivial Pursuit," TMZ has learned.
Network sources tell us LeVar has officially locked in the deal to host and executive produce the revived version of the game show for The CW -- this after he and his team had been in negotiations with the network since last fall.
We're told LB will be in New York Thursday at the Nexstar/CW upfronts where the news will become official to the world.

An open letter -- initiated by Susan Wokoma and Somalia Nonyé Seaton -- was signed by almost 900 performers and published Wednesday in The Guardian ... where they praised Francesca as a rising star in London's West End theater district.
However, the note also addressed the racially charged abuse Francesca faced after being revealed as the romantic lead in the new production of the Shakespeare classic.

The casting director of "Tulsa King" claims she quit after Sylvester Stallone insulted the extras on the set, but the director tells TMZ no such insults were hurled and she quit because she was called out for not doing her job.
Casting Supervisor Rose Locke reportedly claimed Sly and the director called the extras "ugly, "tub of lard" and referred to one actor as a "fat guy with cane." A Facebook page for the Atlanta-based actors claims the man with the cane said the comment "hurt his soul."
According to a Facebook post, Locke also claimed Sly said, "Bring in pretty young girls to be around me."

Jonathan Majors' punishment for the guilty verdict in his assault and harassment trial is in ... and he's avoided jail time.
The actor went into court Monday in NYC with his attorney and his girlfriend, Meagan Good, by his side. He looked solemn and serious, and didn't stop for questions. A judge sentenced him to a one-year intervention program that'll be completed in L.A.
As part of his program, he'll have to do 12 months of counseling ... one session per week over the course of 52 weeks. The D.A.'s office says if he doesn't comply with the conditions set here, he could face time behind bars.
