Golden Globes 2024 All Smiles & High Fashion ... W/ Stars Behind the Scenes

The Golden Globes are underway, and while you're seeing what CBS wants to show you on TV ... there's a heck of a lot going on behind the scenes, which you can see right here.

All the stars are cheesin' and posing together for very happy pics at their tables as they mingle around the ballroom at the Beverly Hilton -- and by the looks of it everybody's pretty freaking happy, with celebs grinning from ear to ear.

Some of the stars who are smiling bright on the floor ... Taylor Swift, Allison Hsu, Matty Matheson, Simu Liu, Thierry Frémaux, Harrison Ford, Lee Sung Jin and Steven Yeun -- to name a few.

More pearly whites on display came from Florence Pugh and Margot Robbie ... who were kinda twinning with their pink/red dresses.

Hailee Steinfeld kept things chic with a classic ball gown ... and Andrew Scott, Raul Domingo, Colman Domingo, Bryn Mooser and Natasha Lyonne were palling around down there too.

Safe to say, it's a feel-good night and the awards are just gonna keep coming.

They're coming to a close here pretty soon ... soak in the joy while you can!

Golden Globes 2024 Stars Arrive Dressed to Impress New Year, New Network!!!

It's awards season again, and that means the Golden Globes are back to kick off the campaign -- only this time it's on a new network ... but still drawing all the big names.

The stars are just now arriving at the Beverly Hilton in L.A., and they're doing their usual thing -- walking up the carpet, stopping in front of cameras and showing their fancy duds ahead of the broadcast itself. And yes, it's a who's-who of talent in 2024.

Some of the splashiest names are taking their sweet time, but there's still a crap ton of celebs who've shown up so far -- including ... Helen Mirren, Heidi Klum, Wilmer Valderama, Jo Koy (who's playing host) Jeannie Mai, Selena Gomez, Tyler James Williams and others.

Of course, other stars expected to show face ... Robert Downey Jr., Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio, Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Natalie Portman, Jeffrey Wright, Matt Damon, Colman Domingo, Carey Mulligan, Fantasia Barrino, Joaquin Phoenix, Nicolas Cage, Timothee Chalamet, Emily Blunt, Rosamund Pike, Jodie Foster and more.

Oh, and Taylor Swift is expected to touch down as well at some point -- like we said, anyone who's anyone is gonna be there tonight ... and they're doing it on none other than CBS.

NBC dropped the Globes after last year's show -- this following a lot of controversy about diversity (or a lack thereof) in the years prior from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association ... which, BTW, was completely disbanded and disassociated with this year's award show.

Now, the Globes are being handled by Dick Clark Productions and another holdings company -- and they're hoping to start fresh with a new look, new vibe ... but the same old celebs.

The seating arrangement's been set, so we already have a sense of who'll be where.

Er'body's looking real good so far -- and it's just about show time ... here we go!!!

'Saltburn' 'Murder on the Dancefloor' Charts Thanks to Raunchy Scene!!!

Barry Keoghan's new movie got a song that came out over 20 years ago back on the charts -- and it's all thanks to a neat little dance he did at the end where he's butt-ass naked.

Of course, we're talking about "Saltburn" and the end scene where the main character successfully snuffs out an uber-rich family in the UK to inherit their wealth and estate. To celebrate he does an intricate number through the house in his birthday suit ... with Sophie Ellis-Bextor's 2001 song "Murder on the Dancefloor" blaring in the background.

In the context of the film, the track makes sense ... and it's very fitting for what's going on. But it seems folks are rediscovering this oldie-but-goodie anew ... 'cause it's back at #8 on the Official UK Singles Chart -- not to mention surging on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales Chart, where it sits 3rd behind songs from Cher and Dua Lipa.

Elsewhere, Ellis-Bextor's memorable is charting on different trending lists, on Spotify, etc.

"Saltburn" is obviously stuck in people's minds -- because audiences left the theater and went searching for 'Murder,' driving the song across all these different platforms/streamers.

SEB's grateful for the attention -- and extra money lining her pocket, we're sure -- telling the BBC ... "It's extraordinary. It's a song I've been singing for over 20 years, I still love singing it. I love the way people react when I do it live."

She adds, "For new people to be discovering it, for it to be making new memories with people is kind of beautiful," noting she hasn't really processed all the newfound attention.

Mind you, the all-nude dance throughout the castle is perhaps one of the least shocking moments of the film ... there's a lot of others, including a sex-with-a-grave scene, a semen-slurping bathtub highlight, etc. Yeah, it's that kind of movie -- totally freaking out there.

With all that said, dropping dead on the dancefloor and dropping trou on-screen is clearly a winning combination. Congrats to Sophie ... and to Barry Keoghan fans too, we suppose.

Judd Apatow on 'Barbie' Deserves Best OG Screenplay Nod ... Not 'Adapted' from Squat!!!

"Barbie" is expected to be a big player at this year's Oscars ceremony -- but one category where it might get stiffed relates to its script ... and Judd Apatow thinks it's BS.

Here's the deal ... as the 96th Academy Awards approach, the potential nominations are taking shape BTS -- and on the issue of screenplay, Margot Robbie and co. got kinda screwed because of what bucket they'll land in for consideration by voting members.

Last week, Variety reported that "Barbie" was going to be relegated to the Best Adapted Screenplay category as opposed to Best Original ... since the characters already "existed."

Film snobs thought that was a bad call, seeing how the plot of "Barbie" is, in fact, pretty original -- in the sense that it isn't a rework of another existing "Barbie" story out there ... and Judd is among those who are outraged on behalf of the scribes who came up with it.

He writes, "It’s insulting to the writers to say they were working off of existing material. There was no existing material or story. There was a clear box." Frankly, many agree.

The reason folks are bummed that "Barbie got thrown into Adapted as opposed to Original -- despite campaigning for the latter -- is 'cause there's tougher competition in Adapted ... including "Oppenheimer," "Killers of the Flower Moon," etc. Oscar shoe-ins, basically.

Considering how packed that category is, the movie buffs feel like "Barbie" will have a harder chance at actually winning ... and seeing how big of a cultural impact it had this year, a lot of people want to see it get some shine in as many ways as possible this year.

Fact is, "Barbie" checked all the boxes -- and lines like "I don't control the railways or the flow of commerce" most certainly warrant some recognition somewhere along the way.

We'll see what the Academy heads end up casting their ballots on come voting time.

Jodie Foster Ay, Real Talk Though ... Gen Z High-Key Sucks, Bruh!!!

Jodie Foster's crapping on Gen Z, but more specifically how they operate on the job -- which begs the obvious question of ... who the hell is she talking about exactly??? 👀

The 2-time Oscar-winning actress did an interview with The Guardian where she candidly shared her thoughts on these young'ns out here ... and she took aim at the early-20-somethings and teens that she appears to have crossed paths with on movie/TV sets.

JF started on this train of thought by first praising 20-year-old actress Bella Ramsey -- saying she asked her to intro her at an event, noting how she embodies a modern type of womanhood in her appearance/fashion choices, etc. Bella identifies as nonbinary, BTW.

In the same breath, though, Jodie went on to slam other Gen Z'ers at large -- including, apparently, old coworkers of hers, with JF griping ... "They’re really annoying, especially in the workplace. They’re like, ‘Nah, I’m not feeling it today, I’m gonna come in at 10.30am.’"

She continues, "Or, like, in emails, I’ll tell them this is all grammatically incorrect, did you not check your spelling? And they’re like, ‘Why would I do that, isn’t that kind of limiting?’"

GEN ZZZ
TMZ.com

The irony, of course, is that she started out in showbiz at a very young age too. In fact, she was just 12 years old while acting in Martin Scorsese's "Taxi Driver." Perhaps she's using that experience and how she handled herself in ripping on this new, hip generation!

Now, Jodie could just be speaking about Gen Z office/work culture generally or anecdotally -- but it does kinda sound like she might be referring to Gen Z'ers she's crossed with professionally herself ... and if that's the case, there's only a select handful that fit the bill.

We ain't gonna name any names here since she didn't, but to the youthful actors out there ... get your act together. Ms. Foster ain't having it with your tomfoolery and malarkey on set!

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Estamos impacientes.

Ariana Grande You've Been MIA, Love ... 'Yes, And?'

Ariana Grande has been out of the music scene for a good long while now -- but that's all coming to an end later this week ... so says the Princess of Pop herself.

The singer announced Sunday that she'd be dropping a brand new solo single -- her first in nearly 3 years -- this upcoming Friday ... and she's back to using commas in her song titles. The track is called 'Yes, And?' and AG teased with a blurry close-up shot of her mug.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Ari's posting a ton of promo in her IG Story too ... including lots of links for fans to pre-order the single. She also seems to be using her official "Sweetener" account to hype it up as well.

Of course, her loyal base is beyond excited about the news ... as many feel like she seriously fell off the radar for a bit too long since dropping her "Positions" album way back in the Fall 2020. After that, she's been a pretty MIA ... both in music and in public life.

That all changed last year when she divorced her now ex-husband Dalton Gomez and started dating her "Wicked" costar Ethan Slater (the 'SpongeBob' guy). The swap in her love life caused a lot of headlines ... as did her professional split from mega manager Scooter Braun.

While a lot of folks feel like Ariana fell off lately, the truth of the matter is ... she's been busy shooting this musical out in the UK, and obviously dealing with a lot in her inner circle.

Yes, she hasn't put out original music of her own in a bit -- but she has recently dipped her toe back into performing onstage in front of a crowd ... and for the holidays, it was a big hit.

Now, she's back ... we'll see what she has to say about all that's gone with her. Can't wait!

Halle Bailey Welcomes First Child With DDG ... Son's Name is Angelic!!!

2024 has only just begun – but Halle Bailey already has a lot to be thankful for with the birth of her first child, Halo!

The Grammy-nominated singer and her rapper boyfriend, DDG, posted photos on their Instagram pages Saturday night, showing their hands gently holding Halo's fingers with his name etched in a gold bracelet around his little wrist.

In her caption, Halle wrote, "Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo 🥰👼🏽 ✨the world is desperate to know you 😉🤣♥️."

DDG also commented under his IG pic, "my biggest blessing by far 👶🏽❤️ son son.. never been so in love 🥹 baby halo."

As you may recall, the couple became an item in March 2022 when DDG posted a message on Halle's IG account for her birthday. Since then, they've kept their private lives out of the spotlight ... that was until last night.

Congrats, you two!!!

A MAGICAL EVENING
BACKGRID

Gypsy Rose Blanchard decided to take in some high culture Saturday night, going to a Broadway show ... one with a special personal meaning.

The controversial ex-con hit the Big Apple with her husband Ryan Scott Anderson, and the two hustled to make curtain for "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child."

If you recall ... her mother, Dee Dee, yanked her out of school when she was very young, and she repeatedly read the 'Harry Potter' series to learn to read.

Waiting for your permission to load TikTok Post.

Gypsy took to TikTok minutes before the curtain went up to share her 'Harry Potter' love, and snaps of her seats, with her exploding social media audience.

The couple's fun night out sits in stark opposition to the harrowing details emerging in her new Lifetime docuseries.

Gypsy recently revealed she'd been violent toward her mother before she and her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn plotted her murder.

The 32-year-old says, after her mother caught her trying to run away when she was 19, Dee Dee chained her to the bed and beat her severely.

She said Dee Dee also bought a gun and one day, while arguing, Gypsy grabbed it off the table and fired multiple shots at her mother.

It turned out to only be a BB gun, but Gypsy said she was shocked to find she'd pulled the trigger at all, having made the snap decision without thinking.

Dee Dee's medical records show she was treated for a pellet gun injury ... but she said a man robbed and shot her in a Walmart parking lot.

Of course, a few years later, Gypsy did plan and successfully stab her mother to death ... a crime for which she served seven years.

Waiting for your permission to load TikTok Post.

'PRINCESS DIARIES' SAN FRANCISCO VILLA USED IN MOVIE FINDS BUYER

Mia Thermopolis' high school from "The Princess Diaries" has found a buyer ... after nearly 3 months on the market ... TMZ has learned.

According to real estate records ... the owners of the eye-watering $6.5 million sprawling Mediterranean-style abode in San Francisco ... which doubled as the exterior of the high school in the 2001 comedy starring Anne Hathaway ... accepted an offer on the home last Friday.

The 4-bed, 4-bath 12-room villa with 4,554 square feet of living space is undoubtedly fit for royalty ... boasting a media room, elevator, a lower-level gym, and a one-car garage with a laundry closet.

On the outside, there's a roof garden with an outdoor kitchen and firepit ... with majestic views over the San Fran Bay, city views to the north and east and forest views to the west.

Of course, the best selling point of the property is that it's featured as the fictional Grove High School in "The Princess Diaries" ... which Anne's character Mia attended before learning she was Princess of Genovia.

Only the exterior shots of the home were used as the school ... scenes inside the school were filmed at Alverno High School in Sierra Madre, near Pasadena.

The home was owned by the former CEO of Just Desserts and his wife ... undergoing plenty of renovations over the last 2 decades.

Steven Mavromihalis and John C. Fitzgerald of Compass held the listing.

'Caddyshack' & 'Tron' Star Cindy Morgan Dead at 69 ... Roommate Called Cops

update

3:49 PM PST -- The Palm Beach Sheriff's Office tells TMZ ... Cindy's roommate called cops to their Lake Worth Beach home on Dec. 30, 2023 -- saying she returned home from a holiday trip, knocked on Cindy's door in their residence ... but got no response.

The roommate told officers she smelled a strong odor emanating from inside and called 911, noting the last she'd seen CM alive was on Dec. 19. Cops went in and found Cindy dead in her room ... with no foul play suspected. An investigation is underway.

3:22 PM PST -- A county rep confirms to TMZ that Cindy died of "natural causes."

Cindy Morgan -- famous for her role in "Caddyshack" -- has died ... TMZ has learned.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office confirmed the actress' passing in the area, but no further details about when she died or under what circumstances were immediately available. We've also confirmed her body is currently at a local funeral home there in Florida.

Morgan will likely best be remembered for playing Lacey Underall in the famous 1980 comedy opposite Chevy Chase, Bill Murray and Rodney Dangerfield -- portraying the country club owner's hot niece who captures the attention of pretty much every male character.

She had quite a few scenes in there ... and was memorable as the key temptress in the flick. There's one notable scene she shared with Chevy, where she tried seducing him at a party.

While she was great in "Caddyshack," Cindy had actually starred in several other big films throughout her career ... specifically, in "Tron" -- where she played 2 big roles, Lora and Yori. In addition to this, she also starred in "Galaxis," "Silent Fury," "Up Yours" and other movies.

Her TV resume was even more impressive ... CM had roles on hit shows like "The Love Boat," "CHiPs," "Bring 'Em Back Alive," "The Fall Guy," "Falcon Crest," "Matlock," "Hunter," "The Highwayman," "Manusco, FBI," "The Larry Sanders Show," "Under Suspicion" and more.

Cindy's resume included 37 acting credits, and it looks like she'd been active as recently as 2022 with a voice role in an indie flick. We've tried reaching out to her team ... but haven't had any luck in tracking down someone who currently reps her.

She was 69.

RIP
