Bill Gates' ex-wife is breaking away from their longtime self-titled foundation -- of which she's been a central part since its founding ... and it's the nail in the coffin to their relationship.

Melinda Gates made the announcement Monday, writing ... "After careful thought and reflection, I have decided to resign from my role as co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. My last day of work at the foundation will be June 7th."

She adds, "This is not a decision I came to lightly. I am immensely proud of the work the foundation that Bill and I built together and of the extraordinary work it is doing to address inequities around the world. I care deeply about the foundation team, our partners around the world, and everyone who is touch by its work."

Bob Dylan didn't just do iconic music in his heyday -- he was painting crap too ... and one of his artwork pieces could be yours ... 'cause it's up for grabs, TMZ has learned.

A painting Bob did in 1968 -- from a previously unseen collection of work from Dylan's Woodstock years -- is on the auction block, and it features an abstract design of a bull ... as well as music notes, bow ties, animals, and other notable imagery.

The painted canvas was given to Woodstock-area resident Sandy LePanto in exchange for an astrology chart ... with the painting remaining with the LePanto family until recently, as it was rediscovered by Anthony LePanto's estate.

The apes are taking over the box office ... 'cause "The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" is pulling big money on opening weekend -- headed for $50m+.

According to The Hollywood Reporter ... 'KOTPOTA' made just north of $22 million Friday, and the outlet's projecting the film to make between $52M and 56M domestically by Monday.

The DJ officially parted ways with the 6-bedroom Encino estate, with the sale going through on Thursday for $17,125,000 ... which means he's pocketed a fair amount in the sale, 'cause he bought for quite a bit less a few years ago.

While this is over a million less than his original asking price of $18,999,000 ... Zedd is still walking away in the black, as he nabbed the property from Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner in 2021 for $15.2 million.

No more flying with the normies for the WNBA -- the league just announced it will provide full-time charter flights for all 12 teams starting this season.

The news comes weeks after WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert revealed the league was on the verge of launching a program so players could travel more privately and comfortably.

Shohei Ohtani's ex-translator and best friend, Ippei Mizuhara, will plead guilty to multiple federal charges -- after admitting to taking nearly $17 million from the Dodgers superstar -- and now faces up to 3+ decades in prison!

On Wednesday, The United States Justice Department announced that 39-year-old Mizuhara would soon face the music after agreeing to plead guilty to one count of bank fraud and one count of filing a false tax return for the extensive, multi-year fraud.

"The extent of this defendant’s deception and theft is massive,” United States Attorney Martin Estrada said of Ippei's actions.

50 Cent's through trolling his ex, now he's brought lawyers into it, and he's suing Daphne Joy for publicly accusing him of rape and physical abuse.

In docs filed Monday, and obtained by TMZ, 50 blasts Daphne for her Instagram post from March 28, where she made the allegation behind his lawsuit -- and he says she only did it because it came out that he was going to seek sole custody of their son, Sire.

50 says he only made that decision about Sire after Daphne was labeled a "sex worker" in the Rodney Jones lawsuit against Diddy -- and he claims she retaliated with the open letter to him, posted on IG.

Take a look ... Zeldin says prosecutors for this case want the jury to believe Stormy is credible -- and the only way to do that is to lay bare everything she says she knows. In other words, it's all about believability ... and her spilling the alleged tea will help in doing that.
