Met Gala

Kate Hudson moves fast ... one minute she's with Nick Jonas and the next bolting out of the Met Gala with DJ Diplo.

They clearly had plans ... last we saw them they were at an after-party.

Justin Verlander put a ring on it ... a MASSIVE ring ... and Kate Upton was all about showing it off at the Met Gala in NYC.

Upton hit the red carpet at the event Monday night sporting the boulder on her finger ... and essentially stole the show from all the other huge stars at the event.

Don't worry, Justin can afford it ... he signed a $180 MILLION contract in 2013.

FYI, Upton started dating the Detroit Tigers pitcher roughly 3 years ago ... and they've been inseparable ever since. Upton has said it helps that she's a big baseball fan.

Rachel Roy is taking a stand against Beyonce's fan base who have accused her of causing big time issues between the singer and Jay Z.

Beyonce released her new album "Lemonade" Saturday and there's a subtle lyric fans say targets Roy as the reason behind the infamous 2014 elevator fight. Beyonce's Beyhive took to Roy's social media accounts to blast her ... and Rachel's had enough,

Roy just took to Twitter saying, "I respect love, marriages, families and strength. What shouldn't be tolerated by anyone, no matter what, is bullying, of any kind."

It's interesting -- she doesn't deny any involvement -- but the fact she says she respects marriages is pretty telling.

Justin Bieber just can't shake his feelings for Selena Gomez ... at least that's what a recent post indicates.

Bieber posted a throwback pic of him and Gomez locking lips on his Instagram account Saturday ... it's not the first time he's hinted at missing his former gf. You might remember, he gushed over Selena's look at last year's met gala a few months after the two called it quits.

If Dwyane Wade looked like a million bucks at the Met Gala and the Met Gala after-party ... it's because that's roughly how much his outfits were worth at his big night out ... TMZ Sports has learned.

It would be tough to punch and kick your brother-in-law when you're wearing ... whatever the hell Solange Knowles wore Monday night to the Met Gala.

Hard to believe -- but it's been a year since Beyonce's sister famously went ballistic and attacked Jay Z in an elevator ... during an after party for last year's gala.

Meanwhile, Bey stole the whole damn night when she showed up in a ridiculous sheer nude-colored dress.

Damned if she was gonna let Solange steal the headlines this year.

Traditional ... or edgy?

Safe ... or risky?

White shirt, black tie ... or crazy red stripe and a white tie?!

That was the fashion dichotomy between Derek Jeter and Dwyane Wade in NYC Monday night ... with one star pushing the envelope and the other one ... well, not.

The Met Gala is where the biggest names in celebrity combine with the biggest names in fashion ... but it's also where Kim Kardashian's famous ass meets Jennifer Lopez's legendary backside.

KK acknowledged the moment by posting this homage to their posteriors ... snapped by none other than Kanye West.

There's no wrong answer, yet we have to ask ...

Jay Z was ferociously assaulted by Beyonce's sister Solange  ... who was wildly kicking and swinging at him inside an elevator ... and the attack was captured on surveillance video ... obtained by TMZ.

According to our sources, it all went down at a Met Gala after party last week at the Standard Hotel in NYC.  In the video ... Jay Z, Beyonce and Solange step into the elevator ... and then Solange goes crazy, screaming at Jay before unleashing a violent attack.

A large man -- who appears to be a bodyguard -- attempts to hold Solange back, but she manages to connect at least 3 times.  At one point Solange throws a kick and Jay grabs her foot, but never attempts to strike her.  Beyonce stands by without getting physically involved.

And this is interesting.  When you look closely, you see the bodyguard hit the emergency stop switch on the 12th floor -- mid fight -- presumably to keep the fight private.

At one point, Solange smacks Jay with her purse ... spilling the contents all over the floor of the elevator.

Eventually the group exits the elevator ... but not before Solange takes a few last shots.

All three walked out of the building together -- Solange looks pissed -- but while Bey and Solange get in one car ... security walks Jay to a different one.

It's unclear what triggered the fight.

Lily Allen was rushed to a London hospital Thursday morning after a bout of "projectile vomiting" ... but the singer insists she's fine.

Lily just posted the photo of herself on a hospital bed, plugged up with needles and tubes, along with the caption, "I'm fine though guys, just need some fluids cause I can't keep anything down."

Before she was hospitalized, Lily tweeted she couldn't stop "projectile vomiting" and felt extremely dehydrated. She had just appeared on British comedy show "Chatty Man" before falling ill.

Whatever it is, the sickness definitely appears sudden -- on Monday night, Allen was seen leaving the Met Gala in NYC scarfing pizza and looking healthy.

You're not the only one who can't pronounce Cara Delevingne's name -- Reese Witherspoon can't either, neither can Kate Upton or Zooey Deschanel ... and they all proved it during a hilarious drunk elevator ride earlier this week.

Cara posted the footage to her Instagram account after an evening at the Met Gala Monday night -- showing the hottest group of women ever to assemble in an elevator, and they're all joking about how to pronounce Cara's (Cah-ra's?) name.

The video is hilarious -- but the award goes to Reese for her attempt ... "Delevig-ny."

Cara has since deleted the footage -- but here they are again in all their glory.

Former Vogue honcho Andre Leon Talley is definitely our pick of the week.

Talley dug deep during his interview with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West during Monday night's Met Gala ... and then touched the golden couple with his fool's gold.

It's unclear how much time passes before the dig and the touch, but Talley is clearly seen touching Kim's shoulder as he kisses her goodbye ... before using the same hand to shake Kanye's.

A man dropped his trench coat and ran through the streets wearing nothing but a hot pink mankini and a gold chain at the biggest celeb event in NYC Monday Night.

But he wasn’t the only one who showed his ass! Check out what Rihanna wore!

Madonna's not ACTUALLY a slutty attention whore who planned to expose her nipples at the fanciest event in the world -- literally dressed like Leeloo from "The Fifth Element" -- at least that's what she's saying now ... claiming the photo she posted online Monday was a joke.

Sources close to the singer tell TMZ, she was just kidding when she posted the photo with the caption, "What i wanted to wear to Met Ball but Anna [Wintour] said Not this year! So I'm gonna work on music instead?"

Our sources say Madonna didn't even have plans to go to the Gala ... she was in the studio Monday night during the event and will stay there all week.

This just in: Madonna is 55 years old.

The 2014 Met Gala was a fantastic event, but it wasn't the most original.
