THE TMZ LOWDOWN: Sources say the woman claiming to have met Charlie online was so excited when she picked up the phone and heard the actor's trademark voice that she couldn't keep it to herself. The source went on to say that Charlie's so-called Internet galpal looks "a lot like Denise Richards." The problem -- although the woman says it's Charlie, she's never met him face to face.

Charlie's rep Stan Rosenfield tells TMZ he "doesn't discuss Sheen's private life." He does add though, on the surface, this tale is completely bogus. Rosenfield has a theory: "Anyone who meets Charlie Sheen online and then talks about it around town, would NOT be someone Charlie would date."

For the moment, she's totally into acting. We're told she's in talks with 'Will & Grace's' Sean Hayes to develop a sitcom. Ultimately, however, Britney's agents, manager and others are pushing for a singing comeback (they're not stupid), and unless she scores with thunder as an actress, her default can keep her as part of pop culture for years.

On the Internet, there is no one bigger than Britney. She is bigger than 'American Idol' - and it's not because of her acting.

Boys aside, there was a widely reported incident at Lindsay's private afterparty for the MTV Movie Awards last June at the Standard Hotel. Lindsay reportedly instructed security to block the Simpson sisters from entering.

THE TMZ LOWDOWN: Jessica's publicist, Rob Shuter, tells TMZ that rumors of a feud "are a whole lot of nothing." Lindsay's publicist, Leslie Sloane, echoes the sentiment. They both acknowledged that Lindsay graciously sent Jessica a round of drinks last week, but did not say if Jessica thanked her for the gesture.

TMZ has an interesting theory. The two young starlets are not necessarily the ones at war. We're told their respective hairdressers, who accompanied them to The Dime last week, may be the ones who have issues with each other, which could explain the rumors of fireworks at the bar.

By the way, sources say Lindsay was not at all upset that Jessica was with Brett Ratner. That's because we're told she's not dating him and never did. Lindsay, sources say, has been seen with Jamie Dornan, the newest hot face of Calvin Klein. Dornan is rebounding from a long-standing relationship with Keira Knightley. Dornan was seen in the halls during run-throughs for Lindsay's stint on 'Saturday Night Live' last week.

HOW IT SPREAD: McConaughey -- who has been dating Cruz for the past two years after they met on the set of 'Sahara' -- was acting like a single guy at the Monkey Bar at Marshall University in West Virginia, where the film is being shot. He downed beers with cast and crew from the film and chatted and laughed with one shapely blonde who caught his eye. For the record, Cruz was nowhere in sight.

Tongues started wagging last January when Mathew and Penelope attended the Golden Globes separately. She posed alone on the red carpet and they didn't mingle with one and other the entire night.

THE TMZ LOWDOWN: The pair seemed like a perfect match after falling for one another back in 2004. Fresh from her failed romance with Tom Cruise, the Spanish actress seemed smitten with the athletic Texan and the pair even embarked on a road trip together across America in his Gulf Airstream.

All that time spent on the road seemed to bring the couple closer together. McConaughey, 37, whose previous celebrity conquests have included Sandra Bullock, told Oprah Winfrey that Cruz, 32, was "pure on the inside."

But things seemed to have cooled recently as the couple has spent more time apart. Cruz filmed Pedro Almodóvar's 'Volver' in Spain while her beau completed 'Failure to Launch' with Sarah Jessica Parker stateside.

As well as being one of the hottest guys in Hollywood, McConaughey has a rebellious side. He was infamously arrested at his home in Austin, Texas, in October, 1999, after police found him playing the bongo drums naked. He was given a $50 fine for noise violation. The free-spirited actor has said he doesn't know if he'll ever settle down.

Devout Catholic Cruz may not want to wait forever. She's just been tapped to shoot 'Passion India' in both India and Spain later this year. If absence doesn't make the heart grow fonder, then "Houston, we may have a problem."

But there's an even more telling sign that Aniston is bailing from Tinseltown. For a number of months, she's been actively looking for homes all over L.A. Unimpeachable sources tell TMZ that her search has abruptly come to a grinding halt. In addition, she was in the process of remodeling her Hollywood Hills home, but the work recently stopped.

Aniston and Pitt recently sold their Beverly Hills mansion. So aside from her Hollywood Hills home, her only real estate connection to So. Cal. is a Malibu home, which she rents.

Sources connected to Aniston say she is aggressively looking for a place in Chicago and is "fed up" with the Hollywood scene. It makes sense that she'll keep her Hollywood Hills home so she has a place to stay when she's in town, but that's it.

TMZ-TRUTH-O-METER: So, is Aniston quitting L.A. for Chicago?

THE TMZ LOWDOWN: The premise of these two questions is faulty. It assumes that Roberts was asked to perform in 'Ocean's 13.' She was not. Director Steven Soderbergh and producer Jerry Weintraub wanted to go in a "different" direction. Warner Bros., which distributes the film, called the decision "a script issue." Bottom line: It wasn't Julia's decision -- it was made for her and the two stars are still tight.

By the way, the new character in 'Ocean's 13' will be played by Ellen Barkin, who will seduce Matt Damon's geeky character, Linus Caldwell.
