Jon Rahm Withdraws From U.S. Open ... Unbearable Infected Sore On Foot

Jon Rahm will have to wait at least one more year to try to become a two-time U.S. Open champion ... the golf star just withdrew from this weekend's major -- because of a gnarly sore on his foot.

The 29-year-old showed up to Pinehurst this week and tried to play through the pain after a cut in between his toes developed an infection ... but on Tuesday, he told his fans he simply couldn't perform on the course with it.

Rahm had been walking around the venue with a flip flop and a bandage to try to expedite his recovery ... although he said on X that after consulting with doctors, he'll now head home to get better instead of attempting to tee it up this weekend.

Scottie Scheffler Arrest Mocked By Amateur Golfer ... Hilarious Parody!!!

An amateur golfer poked some fun at Scottie Scheffler's recent arrest by creating a parody of it at a local tournament ... and it was downright hilarious!!

According to one social media user, it happened this week at Wildwood Country Club in Louisville ... a few miles away from Valhalla Golf Club, where Scheffler was placed into custody back on May 17 for allegedly dragging an officer with his car.

Video shows that as guests were gearing up to hit the Wildwood CC course for a competition ... one of the members rolled up with a dummy dressed as a policeman strapped to his car.

The USGA is helping keep Grayson Murray's memory alive ... the golf org. just honored the late star with a tribute inside the locker room at Pinehurst, the site of this week's U.S. Open.

The silver plaque salute was placed right on the front of what would have been Murray's locker, and it was touching. It read, "The USGA remembers Grayson and pays tribute to the playing accomplishments that merited his place in the 124th U.S. Open Championship."

At the bottom, it added, "Be kind to one another."

Scottie Scheffler New Police Photos ... Show Arresting Officer's Wounds, Torn Pants

The police officer who claimed he was injured during an encounter with Scottie Scheffler last month took photos of his alleged wounds ... and in the pics, you can see the cop did appear to be left bloodied following their run-in.

TMZ Sports just obtained the images from the Louisville Metro Police Department on Friday ... a little over a week after the criminal case against the world's best golfer was dropped.

Check them out ... in one, you can see just above the officer's watch, he had a penny-sized scrape on his wrist. In another, there seems to be a bit of blood leaking from the policeman's left knee area.

Scottie Scheffler Charges Dropped

11:34 AM PT -- Scottie Scheffler is speaking out following the dropped charges ... saying he has no ill will toward the officer and will look to move past the incident.

"Police officers have a difficult job and I hold them in high regard," Scheffler said. "This was a severe miscommunication in a chaotic situation."

"I appreciate the support during the past two weeks and want to again encourage everyone to remember the real tragedy of May 17. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with John Mills and his family, and I hope to personally offer my condolences now that the case is over. May John rest in peace."

Scottie Scheffler can breathe easy once more ... the criminal charges he was facing in his assault case have just been dropped.

Jefferson County prosecutors filed a motion in court Wednesday afternoon to dismiss the case against the world's best golfer -- and a judge granted it without issue.

In explaining why they wanted to move on from the case, officials said they simply did not have enough evidence to go forward. In fact, they said Scheffler's characterization of the incident as a huge misunderstanding was actually "corroborated" by the evidence they had collected.

Pro Golfer Grayson Murray Died By Suicide, Parents Say

Grayson Murray's parents have released a statement about the death of their 30-year-old son ... revealing the PGA Tour golfer died by suicide.

Murray's parents, Eric and Terry, gave the update on Sunday ... a day after Grayson died following his abrupt withdrawal from the second round of the Charles Schwab Challenge. At the time, he cited sudden illness as the cause.

"We have spent the last 24 hours trying to come to terms with the fact that our son is gone," his parents said on Sunday.

Golf star Grayson Murray has died at 30 years old, the PGA Tour announced on Saturday ... just hours after withdrawing from a tournament with an illness.

Murray was in Fort Worth, Texas, where he was competing in the Charles Schwab Challenge ... but he pulled himself from the tourney during Friday's second round, citing an illness. No further information was given at the time.

Saturday morning, the Tour announced the young, talented golfer had passed away.

Cops have just released video from the scene of Scottie Scheffler's arrest last week ... and in the footage, you can see at least one officer pushed the golfer against a car -- before placing him in handcuffs.

The images were captured by a camera affixed to a street pole located just a few feet away from Valhalla Golf Club -- the site of this month's PGA Championship.

Due to its proximity to the arrest ... it did not capture the 27-year-old's initial interaction with authorities -- however, you can see it did record the moments after Louisville Metro Police were able to stop him as he tried to make his way into the course.

The man who arrested Scottie Scheffler outside the PGA Championship in Kentucky last week violated policy during his encounter with the golfer, officials announced Thursday.

At a news conference packed with media members, Louisville Metro Police Department chief Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel said Bryan Gillis did not turn on his body-worn camera as he had his run-in with Scheffler on May 17 -- a huge no-no.

She stated Gillis has been reprimanded for the act. The city's mayor, Craig Greenberg, also admonished the officer at the newser for his actions.
