John Travolta -- Globes Were 'More Like a Roast'

John Travolta -- who was the implied butt of a controversial joke from Ricky Gervais during the Golden Globes -- seemed to acknowledge the situation last night when he told our photog the event was "more like a roast" than an awards show.

John was all smiles leaving an event at the Hollywood Palladium last night as dozens of fans asked for autographs and congratulated him on his new baby. But he was stone cold silent when we asked him if he had any words for Gervais.

Sometimes saying nothing truly says it all.

Ricky Gervais -- I Will NOT Host the 'Globes' Again

Ricky Gervais doesn't care if he's ever asked back to host the Golden Globes"" ... because he's "not gonna do it again anyway."

A smiling Gervais was weathering the storm in New York this morning -- following his super-controversial statements at the awards show -- when Ricky told us, "I think twice is enough."

After the photog mentioned that Ricky's fellow comics seem to be standing by the performance -- Gervais replied, "Well, it's nice to be loved by your peers ... they stick by you."

HBO Star DENIED from Awards Party -- TOO DRUNK

One of the stars from "Boardwalk Empire" was so HAMMERED after the "Golden Globes" last night ... she was rejected from a "GG" afterparty -- and then FELL DOWN as she tried to stumble to her car.

Paz de la Huerta -- who plays Lucy Danziger on the HBO show -- was wearing her "Globes" dress and an "I'm SLOSHED" look on her face when she tried to get into a party at the Chateau Marmont.

Once the doorman told her she was too drunk to enter, Paz (and a guy who was basically propping her up) began to walk away ... when they both collapsed under the weight of her booziness -- leaving a serious RIP in the back of her dress.

Think she's hungover this morning?

Ricky Gervais and De Niro 'Golden' Controversies

Ricky Gervais and Robert De Niro both talked their way into a firestorm at the "Golden Globes" last night ... after each attempted risky jokes that some consider downright offensive.

Gervais' dig came while commenting on the movie, "I Love You Phillip Morris" -- when he said, "Two heterosexual actors pretending to be gay – which is the exact opposite of some famous Scientologists ... probably." Gervais added, "My lawyers helped me with the wording of that joke."

A short time later, De Niro left jaws hanging while thanking the Hollywood Foreign Press for his lifetime achievement award ... saying, "I'm sorry more members of the foreign press aren't with us tonight, but many were deported right before the show along with most of the waiters. And Javier Bardem."

So we gotta ask ...

Sandra Bullock I'm NOT Dating Ryan Reynolds

Sandra Bullock went rumor-killing at the "Golden Globes" last night -- telling "Today" that she's saying she and Ryan Reynolds have NOT engaged in any boot-knocking ... ever.

Bullock told Al Roker, "He's not my lover, he's just an amazing friend I've had for ten years ... I don't get his lovin' after dark."

... and millions of people rejoiced.

Ricky Gervais -- If You've Seen One Fascist ...

Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais told Conan O'Brien earlier this week his Mel Gibson/Nazi joke was shot down by the show's producers, so our camera guy suggested he dress up as a different dictator instead.

Golden Globes 2010 -- A Look Back

With this year's Golden Globes just hours away, let's take a look back at the best and worst from last year's red carpet.

Globes to PR Firm -- We Got Your Fraud Right Here

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is firing back at the PR firm that claims they were lied to and screwed out of millions of dollars -- saying it was some "troubling allegations that came to light" that led to them getting the heave-ho.

As TMZ first reported, the Michael Russell Group sued the folks that put on the Golden Globe Awards for breach of contract after the PR firm's contract was not renewed -- claiming the HFPA promised they would.

Reps for the HFPA tell TMZ the reason they didn't renew their deal with MRG was that some "troubling allegations of impropriety" came to their attention. According to a lawsuit filed in federal court in 2009, the PR firm was sued for fraud, among other things, over a supposed charity gig where they allegedly misrepresented the involvement of several key sponsors and partnerships.

In the end, according to the reps, "the HFPA chose not to renew their contract."
