Trevor Lawrence suffered a brutal late hit during the game Sunday ... and, his teammates quickly leapt to his defense -- brawling with the other team mid-game.

With four minutes left in the second quarter of the Jacksonville Jaguars game against the Houston Texans, Trevor Lawrence scrambled out of the pocket and made his way toward the first down marker.

As he approached the line to gain, TL went into a slide ... but, linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair didn't slow his momentum enough -- smashing through the QB.

The Ohio State vs. Michigan football game ended in a brawl Saturday ... all because Michigan wanted to play conquering hero on OSU's field.

Here's the deal ... Michigan -- an unranked 6-5 team -- defeated their hated rival, ranked #2 in the country, in a dramatic 13-10 victory.

At the game's end, several Michigan players took a flag emblazoned with the yellow Michigan "M" and attempted to plant it in the center of the big crimson "O" at the 50-yard line ... a controversial gesture to say the least.

Kai Asakura is fighting for the flyweight title in the main event of UFC 310 -- his first-ever bout in the United States -- and the Japanese MMA star says there's one special person he'd love to see Octagon-side ... Shohei Ohtani!

TMZ Sports recently chopped it up with 31-year-old Asakura before his UFC debut -- a title bout vs. Alexandre Pantoja going down December 10 in Las Vegas -- and the 21-4 fighter hopes the newly minted World Series champ can squeeze in a trip to Sin City.

9:03 AM PT -- A Maricopa County jail official tells us ... Sean Daley was taken into custody on Monday at 12:15 PM and released several hours later. He was officially booked on three separate charges, including two felonies and one misdemeanor.

8:55 AM PT -- Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Sports ... 29-year-old Sean Daley was booked for felony assault in connection with the Sunday night fight.

Former Arizona Coyotes player Paul Bissonnette was assaulted at a Scottsdale-area bar Saturday night ... after BizNasty stepped in and stopped a group of drunk golfers who were causing issues!

The NHL vet and current TNT hockey analyst and podcaster went to social media after FOX 10 Phoenix broke the story ... where he explained what led to the melee.

"There was a bit of a ruckus going on in the bar," Bissonette said. "It was a bunch of drunk golfers. Things obviously continue to escalate. They ask one guy to leave, and one guy kept getting in the manager's face and put his hands on him."

Fury was asked about his nemesis during a press event for his upcoming bout against former UFC fighter Darren Till ... when he revealed there's unfinished business with Paul.
