Dave Grohl Foo Fighters Emmy Diss ... You Can't Cut Our Songs Short
Now we know why Dave Grohl was so pissed about the Foo Fighters getting yanked from the Emmy Awards stage -- and it's all about size. Yes, it matters ... especially at award shows.
A rep for Grohl tells TMZ ... the band was all set to perform, and would have been the first ever rock band to play the Emmys. But the rep says, "FOX then refused to allow the band to play a full song from the Emmy-winning Sonic Highways."
According to our sources, the network wanted the band to play half of their winning song and then play part of their hit song "Learn to Fly" ... but the band wasn't having it.
We're told the directive came straight from the network and not the television academy, who was on board with the band's plan to play what they wanted to.
FF won 2 Emmys for its HBO docuseries, but you can tell from his reaction last night ... Dave wanted to play, but obviously ... he wanted it his way.
We have a call in to FOX and the Emmys for their side of the story.

Terrence Howard Bring On the Ex-Wife
Terrence Howard was weirdly in an armlock at the Emmys with one of his divorced wives, and they were both wearing wedding bling.
Mira Pak was clutching Terrence's arm as they mugged for the camera.
Terrence and Mira were married on October 2013, but she filed for divorce this March. She gave birth to their son 2 months later. The divorce became final in July.
So it's surprising that not only are they together, they're wearing rings.

Dave Grohl Claims Emmys Pulled Plug on Foo Fighters
Dave Grohl is annoyed at the very least and more likely pissed the Emmys booked the Foo Fighters to perform and then cancelled.
The group actually won 2 Creative Arts Emmys earlier this month for their HBO docuseries "Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways." Dave was a no-show for Sunday night's ceremony, and it's apparent why.
Dave says some research will reveal the reason behind their cancellation, but we couldn't find anything.

George R. R. Martin Burn Them All ... And Blow them Out!!!
George R. R. Martin got a big surprise -- or 2 -- on his 67th birthday.
Martin, whose birthday was Sunday, hit up the HBO Emmys after-party last night at the Pacific Design Center, where around the stroke of midnight his wife surprised him with a birthday cake, which we believe is an awesome berry cake from Sweet Lady Jane.
George already got his big gift earlier in the evening ... he won his first Emmy for "Game of Thrones" -- he's been nominated 5 times for the series as a co-executive producer for Outstanding Drama Series.
They say when you play the game of thrones, you win or you die ... and George is definitely winning.

Tracy Morgan Makes Triumphant Return at the Emmys
Tracy Morgan made his first big public appearance since his accident in June 2014 ... presenting the award for Best Drama Series at Sunday night's Emmy Awards.
Morgan spoke from the heart -- thanking his family and doctors -- and even cracked a few jokes as only he can.
The "30 Rock" star was in a coma for eight days following a car accident on June 7, 2014 when his vehicle was struck by a trailer operated by Walmart.
Since his recovery, Morgan has settled his lawsuit against Walmart, got married, and will host "Saturday Night Live" next month.
Olivia Culpo Too Hot For Emmys Red Carpet ... Nearly Faints
Olivia Culpo was so hot on the Emmy Awards red carpet she nearly passed out.
Nick Jonas' ex was doing pre-Emmys coverage with Giuliana Rancic, and when the cameras cut back the Miss USA 2012 was down on the ground. Medics tended to her shortly after.
Culpo blamed it on the weather, saying “OMG it is SO HOT out here. Literally just almost passed out.” Temperatures nearly reached 100 degrees Sunday in downtown LA.
Bad day to be wearing evening gowns and tuxes.

Christina Hendricks & Jerry O'Connell Hollywood's Pullin' For Hamm At Emmy Awards
Christina Hendricks and Jerry O'Connell, like most of Hollywood, are on team Hamm and the two think Jon Hamm will finally break his Emmy curse this Sunday.
Hamm has been nominated for an Emmy 16 times total, this will be his 8th nomination for "Mad Men" ... but he has never taken home the prize. However, history doesn't seem to matter with O'Connell who told our photog Hamm will break the streak.
Jon will have three chances to win on Sunday, he's nominated for lead actor in a drama series, guest actor on "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" and he could win as a producer for "Mad Men."

Karrueche Tran After One Near-Emmy Nom ... I Wanna Be The Next Halle Berry
Gotta hand it to Karrueche Tran ... girl dreams big -- on the heels of getting a tiny taste of Hollywood's award season she's already eyeing an Oscar-winning career.
Karrueche was leaving a party for "The Bay" -- the online soap opera she's on, which just got a Daytime Emmy nomination -- and we asked where she saw her career going.
KT replied, "I wanna be like Halle Berry."
Mind you, Karrueche did NOT get an Emmy nomination, only the show did -- still that's not stopping her from aiming high. And this is weird ... but Karrueche's not even sure Halle's her fave actress.
Check out who's in the running.
Bryan Cranston Neighbors Are the Ones Who Knock To Say Congrats on Emmy
Bryan Cranston is beloved by all his neighbors for playing a horrifying villain, and they let him know it by decorating the front of his house after his Emmy win.
After Bryan won for Best Actor ... the "Breaking Bad" star returned home to find balloons tied to his fencing and a handwritten note congratulating him.
But the thing is ... the note looks like it was written by neighborhood kids -- and we all know ... "Breaking Bad" is NOT fun family viewing.
Maybe they're just "Malcolm in the Middle" fans.
Chris Bosh Photobombs McConaughey On Emmys Red Carpet
Chris Bosh has struck again.
For some reason (we're still trying to figure this out) the Heat star decided to attend the Emmys with his wife last night ... and decided to amuse himself by photobombing one of the most famous actors in the world, Matt McConaughey.
Of course, Bosh is somewhat of a photobombing pro ... the guy targeted teammates during post-game interviews almost every week last season.
But don't worry, Bosh showed off his fancy side too -- showing off his white jacket (with a white Rolls to match) before the awards.
Ballin'.

Paula Patton Now Accepting Applications
A freshly single Paula Patton re-emerged back out on the scene Monday night, hitting up Craig's in West Hollywood for a post-Emmys bash ... the first time she's been seen out since her break-up from Robin Thicke.
Don't get it twisted, just because she's single ... it doesn't mean you have a chance.

Sarah Silverman Yeah, I Got High AFTER the Emmys
Sarah Silverman brought weed with her to the Emmys, but that doesn't mean she was high during the show. Now LATER in the evening is a whole other story ...
On her way into the big event, Sarah showed off her pot vapor pen and when she won an award ... people thought her speech was a little all over the place.
But after the show, Sarah told our photog she didn't smoke before or during the show ... but planned on celebrating with it later on.
Cause that's what winners do.

Jimmy Fallon Kanyes Colbert's Emmy Speech
Jimmy Fallon just hijacked Stephen Colbert's Emmy awards acceptance speech -- and it was either the first shot in a new late night war ... or a totally planned bit.
Colbert's crew won for 'Outstanding Writing in a Variety Series' ... and after Gwen Stefani butchered Colbert's name, Fallon ran up on stage trying to deliver his own acceptance speech.
Colbert's reaction is pretty funny -- especially considering he's taking over for David Letterman on CBS when he retires ... and he'll be battling Fallon for ratings.
Of course it might have all been scripted.
Aaron Paul After 'Breaking Bad' ... My Career's Over, Bitch!
Aaron Paul told us the biggest casualty of the "Breaking Bad" finale, could be -- no spoiler alert necessary -- his career!
Last night we asked Aaron -- who's won 2 Emmys for playing Jesse Pinkman -- if he was concerned about getting typecast ... or if he'd ever have another role as good as this one, and he said ... "My career is downhill from here. We all know it!"
Hard to tell if he's joking ... or if he's just grown comfortable with the possibility his career really is ruined.
Still, we gotta ask ...
FYI, Dreamworks just released the trailer for Aaron's new movie "Need for Speed."
'House of Cards' Star 'Nobody Cares' About the Emmys
Corey Stoll from "House of Cards" deserves a trophy for saying what most of Hollywood probably thinks, but is too afraid to say -- Emmys are nothing more than giant paper weights.
Corey was brutally honest -- outside an Emmy party last night -- when we asked if he was pissed he didn't even get a nomination for his role as coke and hooker loving Congressman Peter Russo.
His reply ... "Oh, no. Nobody cares about that stuff."
So, if Corey's telling the truth about the Emmys -- gotta respect his honesty.
Still, we gotta ask ...
