Cash App Founder Alleged Killer Arrested Before ... For Illegal Knife & More
8:26 AM PT -- According to charging docs, Momeni had a 5 1/4" butterfly knife in the center console of his car. He told cops it belonged to him.
The man charged with fatally stabbing Cash App founder Bob Lee has a history of brushes with the law, and was once arrested for illegal possession of a knife, according to court docs obtained by TMZ.
Nima Momeni was busted Thursday for the April 4 murder of Lee, which cops say happened after they got into a heated argument while driving in Momeni’s car in San Francisco. Cops say the men knew each other, although no motive's been disclosed yet.
Momeni, the owner of a Tech start-up company called ExpandIT, was previously arrested in 2011 for allegedly carrying a switchblade, again while driving in his car.
Momeni ended up pleading no contest to driving on a suspended license in exchange for a dismissal of the knife charge.
In a separate incident from 2004, Momeni was arrested for DUI.
In the less violent/criminal department ... Momeni's also, apparently, a liar.
On his LinkedIn page, he claims he attended UC Berkeley, but a University spokesperson denies that, asserting the alleged killer never attended the prestigious school.
Momeni is scheduled to be arraigned Friday afternoon for Lee's murder.

Phillies' Matt Strahm Extended Beer Sales Are A Problem ... Putting Fans At Risk!!!
Fans might be happy, but Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Matt Strahm is pissed off at MLB teams for extending beer sales into the 8th inning ... saying it's a decision that's not in their best interest.
Some baseball clubs have elected to forgo their usual 7th-inning cutoff in light of the quicker games this season ... with many serving up booze until the final 6 outs to help increase revenue.
Strahm thinks those teams went in the wrong direction ... saying they should actually stop serving earlier in the game so fans have enough time to get the alcohol out of their system before going behind the wheel.
"The reason we stopped in the seventh before was to give our fans time to sober up and drive home safe, correct?" the pitcher asked on the "Baseball Isn't Boring" podcast.
"So now, with a faster-pace game -- and me just being a man of common sense -- if the game is going to finish quicker, would we not move the beer sales back to the sixth inning to give our fans time to sober up and drive home?"
"Instead, we're going to the eighth, and now you're putting our fans and our family at risk driving home with people who have just drank beers 22 minutes ago."
Strahm says he's not surprised by the move, though ... because at the end of the day -- it's all about money.
"My thing is, when you're looking at the safety of your fans, that's probably not the smartest decision to extend it into the eighth."
"But, just using common sense -- we stopped it in the seventh for the safety of fans and people getting home. Like, it just, it makes no sense to me that you're going to allow it to the eighth inning."
For what it's worth, the Phillies are not one of the teams to extend alcohol sales just yet -- but the team appears to have more of a food problem as of late.

Pablo Escobar 'Cocaine Hippo' Killed by Car ... After Crash in Colombia
An offspring of Pablo Escobar's famed "cocaine hippos" from the 1980s was killed in Colombia ... after getting struck by a car.
The accident went down Tuesday on a highway near Medellín -- not too far from the late drug lord's massive estate, which has since been turned into a tourist hot spot, complete with a zoo and other attractions ... and from where this animal presumably escaped.
Based on reports, it sounds like the driver was cruising along at night, and ran smack dab into the massive beast. The hippo's dead body was laid out on the street in the aftermath ... it's no easy task to remove an animal that size. Amazingly, the driver was unharmed.
Here's a little history for you to help make sense of this. For starters, hippos are not native to South America, but because Pablo smuggled 4 hippos into the country way back when ... they can actually be found on the continent now, especially in Colombia.
The OG hippos (one male and 3 females) have since died, but their many children and grandchildren live on -- apparently, there are now about 150 hippos in and around that area, all courtesy of Pablo's decision.
With so many of them now in the area, these freak accidents are actually somewhat of a regular occurrence in Colombia. There was another crash in December, and the hippo roadkill is creating a national conversation about what the hell to do with the carcasses.
Wild times, indeed.

Major League Baseball Shorter Games = Less Beer Sales ... Teams Extending Deadline To Sell
Major League Baseball games have been a half-hour shorter under the sport's new rules, and it's awesome ... but there's one unintended consequence teams are dealing with -- lost money from missed beer sales!
And, because businesses don't like losing money, several teams around the league have extended the traditional 7th-inning beer sale cutoff time, allowing suds to be sold into the 8th inning.
Of course, MLB instituted a pitch clock this season, representing the largest rule change in decades (it's been a smash hit), producing games 31 minutes shorter than last season. Naturally, shorter games mean less time to sell concessions like beer, and sales are down.
The Milwaukee Brewers were the first organization to make a move (it makes sense) ... now allowing fans to purchase cold ones through the end of the 8th inning.
Brewers president of operations Rick Schlesinger recently vowed to go back to the old policy if the new rules caused any safety issues, saying ... “If it turns out that this is causing an issue or we feel that it might cause an issue, then we’ll revert to what we have done previously.”
Since the Brewers tweaked their policy, other teams have followed, including the Texas Rangers, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Minnesota Twins. All three squads are allowing beer sales through the 8th.
Now, other teams are also considering making a similar move.
Beer sales, and when they occur, aren't something MLB regulates. Years ago, most teams adopted the 7th inning cutoff as a way to reduce the likelihood of drunk people driving home after the game.
However, with the extension, and the games already being shorter, it's possible fans could be served a beer, and be behind the wheel of a car just a short time later.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) also weighed in, saying their concern is no one drive impaired.
“If it cuts off sales in the seventh inning, the eighth inning or the ninth inning, that really doesn’t affect our stance because regardless, we just don’t want people to drink alcohol and then drive home from the game,” a MADD executive said.
The season's only two weeks old, but it's clear organizations aren't too keen on losing money. Stay tuned.

Brittney Griner is ready to open up about her harrowing time spent in captivity inside a Russian penal colony.
The 32-year-old, 8x WNBA All-Star has inked a deal with publisher Alfred A. Knopf to write a still-untitled memoir which they say will take a deep dive into Griner's nearly one-year stay in a Moscow-area penal colony.
"For the first time Griner recounts the tumultuous events of 2022 that both reshaped her life and captured the world’s attention: Griner’s arrest at the Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow on February 17, followed by her detention, trial, and imprisonment in Russia," Knopf says about the book, slated to be released mid-next year.
Of course, Griner, arrested and charged for bringing vape cartridges into the country, was ultimately found guilty on the drug charge, and sentenced to 9 years behind bars. But, after months of negotiation, the U.S. agreed to a prisoner exchange, sending back notorious arms dealer Viktor Bout for BG's release.
Knopf, publisher behind Andre Agassi's bio, Open, says Griner will discuss everything from being arrested to going on trial "in vivid detail." She will also write about her "surreal time living in a foreign prison and the terrifying aspects of day-to-day life in a women’s penal colony."
“I arrived in Moscow to rejoin the UMMC Ekaterinburg basketball team and was immediately detained at the airport. That day was the beginning of an unfathomable period in my life which only now am I ready to share,” Griner says of the project.
Brittney continued ... “After an incredibly challenging 10 months in detainment, I am grateful to have been rescued and to be home. Readers will hear my story and understand why I’m so thankful for the outpouring of support from people across the world."

Since December, Griner's been acclimating back to life at home ... the WNBA champ recently signed a deal with her old squad, the Phoenix Mercury. The new season starts next month, and Brittney will take the floor for the first time since 2021.

Roger Clemens' 34-year-old son, Kory, has been arrested again for DWI, TMZ Sports has learned ... and the allegations against the MLB legend's kid are scary.
According to court documents, Kory was busted by the Houston Police Dept. in Texas at 2:22 AM on April 7 following a car accident.
In the docs, prosecutors allege Clemens struck another vehicle, which caused "heavy" front-end damage. They also say Kory was throwing up at the scene and was "unsteady on his feet." They added in the documents that he reeked of booze, had bloodshot eyes and slurred his speech ... and stumbled when he walked.
Court documents show he was booked into a Harris County jail ... before he was released after posting bond.
It's the second time in the last four years that Kory has been accused of DWI -- back in May 2019, he was also arrested in Houston after cops said he showed signs of intoxication during a traffic stop at 2:05 AM. The case was ultimately dismissed in 2020 after he entered into a pretrial diversion program.
Kory is one of four of Clemens' sons, who all have names starting with the letter "K" ... as a nod to the former Houston Astros pitcher's propensity to rack up strikeouts while on the mound.
Kory is due in court for a hearing in his latest case on Friday morning.

The widow of Dwayne Haskins is claiming the ex-NFL star was drugged in the hours before his death ... alleging the former Steelers and Commanders quarterback was the target of a blackmail and robbery plot.
Kalabrya Haskins spelled out the allegations in a new lawsuit, obtained by TMZ Sports, that was filed in Florida fewer than three weeks before the one-year anniversary of the former football player's tragic death.
In the documents, Kalabrya claims that on April 8 and the early morning hours of April 9, 2022, Dwayne visited four establishments in the Miami area ... and was drugged by a group of people planning to blackmail and rob him.
Kalabrya says Joey Smith, Meriem Yassine, Wissal Yassine and Karlee Peyton drugged the 26-year-old old at some point while he spent time at the Wyndham Hotel, a Drive Shack, a restaurant called the Blue Anchor Pub, and E11EVEN nightclub.
According to a statement released by Kalabrya's attorney, Rick Ellsley, on Monday morning, Ellsley alleges that Dwayne's "highly-expensive watch was stolen from him shortly before his death" ... although he doesn't specify who he thinks took it.
Kalabrya is suing the four for battery ... while also going after the four establishments for negligence, claiming they allowed "patrons to use drugs and to drug other patrons, including [Dwayne]."
As we reported, Dwayne died on April 9, 2022 ... after authorities say he was struck by a dump truck on a Florida highway. According to a Broward County Medical Examiner's Office investigation report, Dwayne had been on foot on the roadway after his rental car had ran out of gas.
Authorities said in the docs the QB "drank heavily" and ingested ketamine in the hours leading up to his passing. They said he had a blood alcohol level of .24 at the time of the accident.
Kalabrya is also going after several other people in her suit ... among them, the dump truck driver who hit Dwayne, the rental car company that Dwayne obtained his vehicle from, and the Florida Department of Transportation -- alleging they all share some blame for the quarterback's untimely death.
Dwayne was just 24 years old.

Insane Plane Video Cops Give Adult Passenger The Boot Childlike Tantrum Ensues

But things then took a turn for the worse when the passenger accused one of the officers of stealing his phone. Not a good idea.
The cops then grabbed the guy and dragged him out of his seat. As they hauled him off the plane, the passenger started crying and whining like a child.
It's not clear what happened after that. We're trying to gather more details to get a full picture.
But one thing's for sure ... think twice about asking for a preflight cocktail.

Aldon Smith has just been ordered to spend the next 12 months in jail ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Prosecutors tell us the ex-Dallas Cowboys pass rusher was remanded into custody after the hearing ... and will begin his year-long sentence right away.
Smith was also given five years of supervised probation, prosecutors say.
The 33-year-old football player, who was last with the Seahawks prior to the '21 season, was initially arrested in the case on Dec. 6, 2021 ... after authorities claim he rear-ended a truck that was stopped at a stop sign on a freeway off-ramp.
Cops say when they arrived on the scene to investigate the accident, Smith appeared intoxicated. They also claim he had marijuana in his pocket, and empty bottles of rum and vodka in his car.
Aldon Smith DUI Arrest, Prosecutors Say He Had Weed In Pocket & Empty Booze Bottles
Authorities say the person he hit suffered injuries to their back, wrist, knee, leg and foot in the crash.
Smith was eventually charged with one felony count of drunk driving causing injury -- but he cut a deal with prosecutors on Jan. 19 to close out the case. He had been facing a sentence of up to 16 months in prison following his plea agreement.
The sentence now likely ends any hope that Smith had of making an NFL comeback -- by this time next year he'll be 34 ... and three full seasons removed from playing a meaningful down in the league.
