The Menendez brothers case is set to take a dramatic turn -- with fresh evidence uncovered, a major decision's just around the corner ... and it could even mean a shot at their freedom.

L.A. County D.A. George Gascón told CNN Tuesday that by the end of the week he’ll have a decision on whether Erik and Lyle Menendez -- who are currently serving life sentences without parole for killing their parents José and Kitty Menendez in 1989 -- will be resentenced, or will get a new trial.

A new trial could result in the pair getting new sentences -- and one possible outcome is a downgrade of their convictions from first-degree murder to manslaughter, which could see them walk free with time served.

Patrick Mahomes Sr. Back In Jail ... Begins Sentence For DWI Conviction

Patrick Mahomes Sr. is back behind bars, but he has not been accused of further wrongdoing -- TMZ Sports has learned he's simply begun serving his sentence for his most recent DWI conviction.

A Smith County jail official tells us ... the father of NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes was booked on Tuesday afternoon at around 4:53 PM and took a new mug shot. He's now not expected to be released until Halloween.

Of course, the 10-day stint in the slammer was all planned ... as it was a condition of the plea agreement Mahomes Sr. reached with prosecutors stemming from his Feb. 3 arrest for drunk driving in Tyler, Texas.

Glen "Big Baby" Davis posted a farewell message to his fans on Tuesday just before he was thrown behind prison bars ... and the former NBA star was surprisingly in good spirits despite what's in store for him.

Check out footage that Davis posted to his Instagram page while he said he was on his way to FPC Duluth in Minnesota ... he had a big smile on his face -- even though he's now about serve the 40-month prison sentence he was hit with earlier this year for his role in a scheme that defrauded the NBA's Players' Health and Benefit Welfare Plan.

Davis held up a peace sign in the vid and told his followers he'll see them around.

The former reality TV star briefly addressed the retired NFL quarterback's legal troubles at the top of her 'Let's Be Honest' podcast this week ... explaining she recorded the episode prior to the "very public" news of Cutler's arrest -- and would not be commenting on what happened later on in the show.

"I do, of course, wish Jay nothing but the best and I do hope that he gets the help that he needs," Cavallari said during the intro. "But that's the only thing I will be saying about it publicly."

Legal docs obtained by TMZ reveal the adult film actress' case has been dismissed 2 months after her arrest in Montgomery County, Texas, for felony marijuana possession.

You'll remember, Kendra was caught with less than one gram of THC in Texas, where marijuana is still illegal. A cop reportedly saw a THC vape pen on Kendra's lap as she was sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle during an unrelated traffic stop. After her arrest, docs showed she was released on a $1,000 bond.

Harvey Weinstein's medical issues are getting even worse because he’s now been diagnosed with leukemia, TMZ has confirmed.

The disgraced Hollywood film producer has chronic myeloid leukemia, which is a type of cancer that starts in the blood-forming cells of the bone marrow, according to the American Cancer Society.

Weinstein's rep, Juda Engelmayer, and his attorney, Arthur Aidala, declined to talk about the new diagnosis, but they issued a joint statement ... "Craig Rothfeld, Mr. Weinstein’s authorized legal healthcare representative in New York State, expresses profound dismay at the speculation surrounding Mr. Weinstein’s medical condition."

Cops certainly knew who they were arresting when they threw the cuffs on Rajon Rondo earlier this year ... as police body cam footage, obtained by TMZ Sports, shows officers discussed his NBA career just after pulling him over.

The stop, as we previously reported, happened back on Jan. 28 in Jackson County, Indiana ... after authorities alleged Rondo's black Tesla didn't have a license plate properly secured to its rear.

The video shows that after initially speaking with Rondo and obtaining his information ... cops went back to their squad car -- and chatted for a few moments about the ex-Celtics guard's time on the hardwood.
