NBA's Jaxson Hayes Police Union Blasts District Attorney ... You Put A Target On Cops' Backs
-
Exclusive

A huge LAPD police union is going scorched earth on the Los Angeles District Attorney after he decided NOT to charge Jaxson Hayes with a felony, following the arrest of the New Orleans Pelicans star in July.
"George Gascon's latest criminal's first airball puts a target on the back of every police officer in Los Angeles," the Los Angeles Police Protective League tells TMZ Sports.
The LAPPL -- which reps over 9,000 cops in L.A. -- continued, "Gascon's refusal to prosecute Jaxson Hayes for violently attacking and injuring an officer during his n-word laced tirade is nothing more than a declaration that it's open season to attack cops and it's shameful."
The union is livid that Gascon's office decided against charging Hayes with any felonies ... despite the fact he seemingly pushed an officer on video.
FYI, Gascon is a polarizing figure. His critics have accused him of being soft on crime ... and failing to protect law enforcement officers.
Still, Hayes isn't totally out of the water criminally ... it's still possible the city attorney could levy a misdemeanor charge(s) against Jaxson.
We broke the story, 21-year-old Hayes -- the 8th overall pick in the 2018 draft -- was arrested for battery on a law enforcement officer after Jaxson got physical with a cop who was investigating a domestic violence call after Hayes' GF allegedly said she was scared her hooper BF was going to physically harm her.
Police released body camera footage ... and it seems Hayes pushed an officer, injuring him in the process, according to LAPD.
What happened next has caused some controversy.
Cops eventually got Hayes to the floor, but the struggle continued. An officer deployed his taser at least once. At one point during the arrest, Hayes said he couldn't breathe.
As a result, LAPD launched an investigation to determine if excessive force was used. That investigation is still ongoing.
As for the LAPPL, they weren't done ... they also went in on the NBA for failing to discipline Hayes, or condemn his actions.
"As for the NBA, their silence is deafening when it comes to one of their players assaulting an officer and thwarting a domestic violence investigation. Apparently, their policy on preventing domestic violence was created more for SportsCenter than it is to actually hold its players accountable. Real classy."
We reached out to the DA's office ... but they declined comment.
We also reached out to the NBA. So far, no word back.

The man who allegedly pulled a knife on Ariana Grande's security and got arrested at her home has been a menace for months, and now we know how ominous it was, because the guy threatened to kill her.
Ariana filed legal docs to get a restraining order, and in it she explains Aharon Brown has terrorized her for 7 months. Things escalated to a crisis level on the evening of Sept. 9, when Ariana was at home. Brown showed up again and this time allegedly brandishing a large hunting knife. When security asked him to leave, he became combative and screamed, "I'll f**king kill you and her."
Police were called and Brown fled on foot. He was ordered to stop multiple times but failed to do so. He was eventually taken into custody.
A law enforcement officer also filed a declaration saying he feared the alleged stalker would be released from jail and therefore the restraining order was essential. We checked, and he's still in custody, charged with 2 felony counts of making criminal threats.
Ariana says flatly in her declaration, "I am fearful for my safety and the safety of my family. I fear that absent a restraining order, Mr. Brown will continue to come to my home and attempt to physically harm or murder me or members of my family."

-
Exclusive

Jason "Mayhem" Miller has officially been hit with felony domestic violence and resisting arrest charges, TMZ Sports has learned ... stemming from an incident where he allegedly roughed up his GF, and barricaded himself in a bathroom.
We broke the story ... Miller was arrested early in the morning last Friday, when cops received a call from a woman who was screaming for help. They rushed to the scene -- a home in L.A.'s San Fernando Valley -- and ultimately arrested Mayhem after cops say they found the woman with visible marks on her face and neck.
The L.A. County District Attorney filed criminal charges this week -- corporal injury to a spouse -- saying the MMA fighter "willfully inflicted corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition" on his girlfriend.
Because he has multiple prior convictions for violent crimes, if convicted, Miller could face a lengthier prison sentence.
He was also charged with felony resisting arrest.
And now we're learning more about what allegedly happened during the incident.
Our law enforcement sources tell us Mayhem locked himself in a bathroom and refused to come out ... so cops were forced to knock down the door, in order to contact him.
We're also told the alleged female victim hopped out of a window to escape Miller.
For the two felony charges, Miller is facing years in prison.
The former UFC fighter is also currently being investigated for an alleged bar fight where he's been accused of breaking another man's ribs ... an incident that allegedly went down only days before his arrest for domestic violence.
Miller has not been arrested or charged with a crime stemming from that alleged incident.

Rapper Mo Fayne's going to spend a long, long time behind bars, but if he expects a sigh of relief after his release he better think twice ... 'cause it won't be easy sailing once he's out.
According to legal docs, obtained by TMZ, the "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" star will be on a tight leash when he's done serving his 17.5-year prison sentence for his role in a PPP loan fraud case.
Pretty much everything in Mo's life will be under scrutiny during his 5 years of supervised release after he gets out of prison. One of the conditions is that Mo will have to participate in a mental health treatment program.
He'll also have to take part in a substance abuse treatment program and submit to testing to determine if he has used a prohibited substance. But, that's not all.
The rapper must also make full and complete disclosure of his finances and submit to an audit of his financial docs at the request of his probation officer. And, things will be a little complicated if he wants to get a new credit card because Mo needs the approval of his probation officer to incur new credit charges or open additional lines of credit.
As we first reported ... the 38-year-old was sentenced to 210 months in prison after he pled guilty to 6 counts, including bank and wire fraud. He's also been ordered to pay a huge restitution bill ... totaling a cool $4,465,865.55.
Prosecutors, of course, alleged Mo funded a lavish lifestyle during the pandemic with money from the Paycheck Protection Program. The money was intended to help employees and small businesses hit hard by COVID.

Robert Durst Guilty!!! Of Murdering Susan Berman
-

Robert Durst has just been found guilty in the murder of his best friend Susan Berman.
The jury found 78-year-old Durst guilty of first-degree murder Friday in L.A.
Durst arguably confessed to murdering his wife, Kathy Durst and Berman on an open mic during filming of the HBO documentary, "The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst." In the doc, you hear him muttering, "You're caught ... What the hell did I do? Killed them all, of course." Durst had said he was high on meth when he made that confession.
As we've previously reported ... Kathy disappeared in 1982 and it was widely suspected Durst killed her. He was never charged for the murder, but that didn't stop Kathy's family from filing a wrongful death lawsuit against him, though Durst scored a victory in that suit.
L.A. County prosecutors set out to prove Durst killed Berman because she knew something about Kathy's mysterious death. Her body was found on Christmas Eve in 2000. Two days later, LAPD cops received a letter from someone telling them where Susan's body could be found.
Cops had said they linked the letter to durst but the case went cold ... until it was reopened following the HBO doc.

Jason London Dazed, Confused and Arrested ... For Public Intoxication

Jason London is harkening back to his most popular movie role, but in the worst way possible -- cops say he was so drunk he swerved off a road and crashed his car ... multiple times.
According to a police report, obtained by TMZ, the "Dazed and Confused" star was arrested late Tuesday around 11:30 PM in Ocean Springs, Mississippi when cops found him behind the wheel of a 2010 Nissan Maxima that was on fire and stuck in a ditch.
Cops say London's passenger was standing near the car -- which had sustained heavy damage on the passenger side -- and London claimed someone had sideswiped them and run them off the road.
According to cops, London -- who played football star Randall "Pink" Floyd in the 1993 Matthew McConaughey film -- reeked of booze, could barely keep his balance and had slurred speech.
Cops investigated the scene and believe he swerved off the road, mowed down a sign, got back on the road, and then hit a concrete object before driving into a ditch.
London was booked for public intoxication and leaving the scene of an accident. When they got him to jail in Jackson County, cops say he was so drunk and out of it they couldn't fingerprint him.
As for why they didn't hit him with a DUI -- an Ocean Springs PD spokesperson tells us the officer used his discretion, and instead decided to arrest him on the other charges. We're guessing the thought process was he hadn't observed London driving.

Actor Eddie Deezen's restaurant problems have escalated, because he just got arrested for assault after cops say he refused to leave one -- and unloaded on officers on his way out.
According to a police report, Eddie -- best known for playing nerdy Eugene Felsnic in the original 'Grease' movies -- was causing a scene at a restaurant in LaVale, Maryland around lunchtime Thursday and refusing to leave, so cops were called.
Law enforcement says when deputies arrived, Eddie ran to hide behind a woman in a booth and refused multiple orders from cops to exit, so he had to be forcibly removed.
According to the report, Deezen threw numerous items at deputies during the incident -- including plates, bowls and food and actually struck one of the deputies.
Eddie was eventually removed -- shirtless, as you can see -- and hauled off to jail, where he's been charged with second-degree assault, disorderly conduct and trespassing.
You may recall ... Deezen was involved in a bizarre situation earlier this year where a Maryland waitress accused him of being a creep and harassing her, but then he went on social media and accused her of cyberbullying.
It's unclear if this incident has anything to do with that story ... we're working on it.

Capitol Police Arrest Man w/ Bayonet, Machete Near DNC Headquarters
A California man is in Capitol Police custody after cops found several weapons in his truck -- including a freakin' bayonet -- and Nazi swastikas all over on his ride ... as he camped out near the Democratic party's HQ.
44-year-old Donald Craighead was arrested early Monday morning in D.C. -- where cops say one of their officers noticed him lurking in his pickup outside the DNC headquarters. To the cop, he seemed suspicious ... having no visible license plate, and baring painted-on swastikas on the vehicle.
The cop approached to see what was up, and USCP says their guy saw a bayonet and a machete inside, plus a ton of other white supremacist symbols. Craighead -- who had come all the way from Oceanside, CA -- was booked for possession of prohibited weapons.
As for what the heck he was doing there in the first place, Capitol Police say Craighead told them he was on "patrol" ... and that he started spewing hate-filled rhetoric.
Cops posted pics of the weapons allegedly found during the bust, and it's a pretty eerie scene ... especially the swastikas.
The symbols are scribbled on the inside of his door, on his steering wheel ... and the side-view mirrors.

R. Kelly Prosecutors 'Step in the Name of Love' ... Fan Trolls 'Em at Court

R. Kelly's getting loud support outside his sex crimes trial, and federal prosecutors look like they're getting ready for a dance routine ... thanks to one obnoxious fan with great timing.
This video, shot Friday morning outside the federal courthouse in Brooklyn, is classic. Normally, a team of Assistant U.S. Attorneys arriving to wrap up the 4th week of Kelly's trial would be super boring. But, throw a little "Step in the Name of Love" over it and, well ... check it out.
No, prosecutors didn't bring their own entrance music -- there was a fan by the front door of the courthouse blaring Kelly's tunes off his phone. And yes, the prank is probably in poor taste, considering the charges the disgraced singer's facing.
Still, the timing of the attorneys is uncanny ... they really do seem to be stepping on the beat, almost as if a lawyer flash mob's about to break out.
Eventually, we're told a U.S. Marshall came outside and asked the fan to turn it down, but the prosecutors had already gone inside to do their day jobs.
Kelly's charged with 22 federal counts, including sex crimes, human trafficking, racketeering, obstruction of justice and kidnapping.

Officers at the Davie Police Dept. in Florida, according to docs obtained by TMZ Sports, say the incident all went down at around 11:44 PM on Monday night.
Cops in the docs say a woman claiming to be Young's ex-GF said the former baseball player showed up to her home and began banging on her door and ordering her to come outside.
The woman, cops say, then claimed when she stepped outside of her apartment, Young confronted her and got violent with her.
Cops say the woman told them Young punched her in the chest, and then shoved her to the ground as she attempted to flee and call 911.
In the docs, police say surveillance video captured the whole incident ... saying the footage revealed Young did hit the woman. Cops say the video also showed the woman "screeching in pain."
In the docs, cops note Young is 6 feet 2" and approximately 280 pounds ... while the woman is 5 feet 5", 130 pounds.
Cops claim in the docs Young ultimately fled the scene in a white SUV Maserati ... and say the 35-year-old blew through a stop sign and then hit 90 MPH in a 45 MPH zone.
Young was eventually arrested and booked on 4 charges ... including domestic violence. Jail records show he's still behind bars.
This is far from Young's first brush with the law -- the ex-Tampa Bay Rays outfielder has been arrested multiple times before, including in 2016 when he was accused of roughing up a hotel valet.
Young played in the MLB from 2006 through 2015 ... piling up 109 home runs and a career batting average of .283.

Mally Mall got the judge's message loud and clear ... TMZ has learned he's already surrendered to the feds after his last-ditch effort to delay his prison sentence was shot down in court.
According to legal docs, obtained by TMZ, a judge said the hip-hop producer failed to articulate any reason why his health condition couldn't be adequately treated while he's behind bars.
The judge said Mally failed to show he couldn't get a CT scan or biopsy from the prison's Health Services Division. Remember, he says he discovered a mass on his thigh that could potentially be cancerous.
In her response to Mally's request to postpone, the judge said she wouldn't "entertain any further meritless delay tactics." Translation -- if ya need it, get it while you're doing time.
So, Mally turned himself in to the Federal Correctional Institution in Sheridan, Oregon. His release date is currently slated for December 15, 2023. Mally pled guilty in late 2019 to running an illegal prostitution service for more than 12 years.
The feds say he owned, operated and managed several of these sorts of businesses in Clark County, Nevada.
The producer's lawyer, Steve Sadow, tells TMZ ... "Mally Mall over the last several years had dedicated his life to music and helping people. He has fully recognized the error in his ways and has gone out of his way to try to make amends. He intends to take full advantage of each and every program offered by the Federal Bureau of Prisons."
