Dr. Conrad Murray Judge Made an 'Error' By Not Sequestering Jury

Conrad Murray thinks Judge Michael Pastor made a mistake when he ruled against sequestering the jury in the upcoming Michael Jackson manslaughter trial ... but he said he's doing the best he can and that God will see him through this.

God ... and a jury of his peers.

Dr. Conrad Murray Prosecution Wants to Exclude Molestation Evidence in Manslaughter Trial

Prosecutors in the Dr. Conrad Murray manslaughter case want to block all testimony related to allegations that Michael Jackson molested children.

According to court docs obtained by TMZ ... prosecutors want Judge Michael Pastor to bar Steve Robel -- a key Santa Barbara County Sheriff's investigator in the 2005 MJ molestation trial -- from testifying in Murray's defense. Robel is on the defense witness list.

In fact, prosecutors want all references to alleged molestation barred from Murray's trial, on grounds it has nothing to do with MJ's death and would merely inflame the jury.

And, prosecutors have also asked the judge to block the testimony of a number of doctors who treated Michael Jackson but were not involved in caring for MJ on the day of his death.

This is a huge motion that could have a profound impact on the case. As TMZ first reported, the defense will argue that dozens of doctors had addicted MJ to prescription meds -- including Propofol -- and they are largely responsible for the condition Michael was in the day he died.

Judge Pastor has not ruled on the motions.

Dr. Conrad Murray Michael Jackson Jury Will NOT Be Sequestered

The Dr. Conrad Murray jury will NOT be sequestered, because the judge does not want jurors to feel like inmates.

Judge Michael Pastor just ruled ... even though Michael Jackson's death was incredibly high profile, he feels confident sufficient measures will be in place to make sure the jury is not contaminated or harassed.

To ensure protection, jurors will each get meals and snacks in the jury room -- not in surrounding lunch areas open to the media and public.

Murray's legal team had filed docs earlier this month asking to sequester the jury -- because they were worried the jury would be tainted by large-scale "character assassinations" ... specifically by TV pundits like Nancy Grace.

Judge Pastor said money is not the issue, even though sequestration is expensive.

Dr. Conrad Murray Protect Me From Nancy Grace! Seeks Jury Sequestration

Dr. Conrad Murray's legal team filed legal papers claiming sequestering the jury during the Michael Jackson manslaughter trial is the only way to protect him and the system from Nancy Grace type "character assassinations."

In legal papers obtained by TMZ, Dr. Murray's lawyers argue the only reason the Anthony jurors were untainted was because they were sequestered. According to the docs, the networks, and in particular Nancy Grace, were well aware of the ratings boost from the trial, and Grace and others engaged in "nonstop on-air abuse of not only the defendant, but the jurors and defense attorneys involved."

The legal docs claim, "There is reasonable expectation that Dr. Murray's trial will be the most publicized in history," and that of the several hundred jurors who were polled during jury selection, only one claimed not to have heard of the Murray case, and she didn't speak English.

Judge Michael Pastor said last month he would consider sequestering the jury, although he felt it was unnecessary and too expensive.

Big Blow to Defense In MJ Manslaughter Trial

The judge in the Michael Jackson manslaughter trial just undercut a big part of the defense, by ruling 16 hours of rehearsal footage for the "This Is It" tour doesn't show MJ to be in poor health.

Dr. Conrad Murray's lawyers wanted the outtakes to prove Jackson was very ill in the days before his death. The argument goes -- he was already dying, so Dr. Murray can't be held responsible for his death.

But Judge Michael Pastor ruled ... the outtakes were valuable to Sony Pictures -- which objected to turning over the footage -- and the video did not show MJ in poor health.

If the hours of video show a healthy Michael, it undercuts a major line of defense for Murray.

Murray Trial Jury Shouldn't Watch Nancy Grace

Lawyers for Conrad Murray told the trial judge they don't want Nancy Grace to pull a "Casey Anthony" on the jury -- so they asked the judge to prohibit jurors from watching her.

Attorney Michael Flanagan argued that it was impractical to tell jurors they can't watch TV - because they simply will. So Flanagan asked Judge Michael Pastor to sequester the jury, O.J. style. The judge told Flanagan to file a motion and he'd consider it, although the judge did say he thought sequestering was both unnecessary and too expensive.

Flanagan pressed his claim for outtakes from the "This Is It" rehearsals -- something Sony doesn't want to cough up. Sources tell us ... Flanagan wants the outtakes to show there were periods where Michael Jackson appeared to be on drugs.

In a telling comment, Judge Pastor said, "This case is going to focus on the charge, not personal lifestyle."

Dr. Murray Will NEVER Cop a Plea in MJ Death

Sources directly connected to Dr. Conrad Murray tell TMZ ... the Doc will not accept any plea bargain from the L.A. County District Attorney in the Michael Jackson manslaughter case.

We're told Dr. Murray feels so strongly about his innocence, even a plea with no jail time would be out of the question.

Fact is ... Dr. Murray shouldn't hold his breath, because no plea bargain has been offered and sources tell us the D.A. will not offer one.

As for Murray's defense ... we're told the centerpiece revolves around the fact that only two people were in the room around the time MJ died, and Murray insists he did not administer the fatal dose of Propofol.

The operating theory of Murray's lawyers -- when the Doc left to go to the bathroom, a frustrated MJ woke up and administered the fatal dose himself in a desperate attempt to get some sleep.

Top Secret MJ Videos Protected by Armed Guards!

The last videos of Michael Jackson were so top secret, they were transported in an unmarked truck, accompanied by armed guards in the dead of the night ... this according to new docs filed in the Conrad Murray manslaughter case.

You ask what Conrad Murray has to do with MJ videos? Well, Dr. Murray wants to see ALL of the rehearsal videos shot for the doomed "This is It" tour. Murray's lawyers believe it could show Michael was in such a frail condition ... there were many reasons for his death other than Propofol.

Murray's lawyers subpoenaed the tapes, but now Sony Pictures -- which has possession of the videos -- is objecting for several reasons. Sony claims there are more than 20 boxes of videos and it would cost $200,000 to log and reproduce all of them.

But in the docs, Sony describes how top secret the videos were to the studio. Sony lawyers say, "When they were transported to the Sony lot in Culver City, the transport in an unmarked truck was accompanied by armed guards in the dead of the night."

When the tapes were in an editing bay, security guards were posted outside the door and no Internet access was allowed in the room.

And a Sony honcho also submitted a declaration which says the videos "have a high monetary value inherent in their potential for future uses. Those uses include one or more 'anniversary editions.'"

Conrad Murray Goes Dumbo

With his manslaughter trial pushed to September, Dr. Conrad Murray enjoyed some downtime at the happiest place on Earth and rode a Dumbo ride at Disneyland yesterday.

He's living the life.

Dr. Who Gave MJ Propofol Forced to Testify for Murray

A doctor who repeatedly administered Propofol to Michael Jackson has been ordered against his will to testify on behalf of Dr. Conrad Murray ... TMZ has learned.

Dr. David Adams -- a Las Vegas anesthesiologist -- put Michael under with Propofol on 4 separate occasions in 2008.

Dr. Murray's lawyers want him to testify in the manslaughter case about MJs "behavior and reactions while under the drug and also how he responded to the administration of the drug."

Dr. Adams vehemently objected to being subpoenaed, claiming he's a "low-key individual" and he's already lost business because of getting dragged into the case.

Nonetheless, TMZ has obtained a court order from a Las Vegas judge that forces Adams to testify.

The People vs. Dr. Murray -- Whose Side Are You On?

On TMZ Live ... Harvey Levin took on BOTH sides in Dr. Conrad Murray's manslaughter trial -- offering closing arguments for the prosecution and the defense. So whose case is stronger?

After watching both arguments, it's up to YOU, the TMZ jury to decide ... should Dr. Conrad Murray be convicted in the death of Michael Jackson?

Murray's MJ Manslaughter Trial Pushed to September

Dr. Conrad Murray can chill til September -- his trial for Michael Jackson's death just got pushed back.

Judge Michael Pastor announced the postponement this morning in the manslaughter trial -- opening statements were set to begin next week.

Murray's attorneys asked for the delay so they could prepare for new witnesses the prosecution plans to call.

Dr. Murray's Lawyer Goes Hog Wild

Dr. Conrad Murray's lawyers want to use a piglet to prove that Propofol can be ingested.

During today's court hearing, Judge Michael Pastor referenced attorney Michael Flanagan's suggestion to introduce evidence of a pig ingesting Propofol. Flanagan said he intended to use a vet as an expert witness -- presumably to discuss the ingestion of Propofol.

One of the defense's theories is that Michael Jackson fatally ingested Propofol while Dr. Murray was out of the bedroom.

The defense is also floating a theory -- that Michael may have fatally injected himself while Murray stepped out.

Murray Wants MJ Rehearsals To Show Warning Signs

Dr. Conrad Murray's lawyers have subpoenaed Sony for the raw footage from the "This Is It" rehearsals to show the jury ... Michael Jackson was a physical and mental mess before he died ... TMZ has learned.

We've learned Murray's lawyers want the tapes to show Jackson was slow, lethargic and weak in the days prior to his death. Although some of the video shows an alert MJ, other portions, we're told, clearly show something is wrong with the singer.

Murray's lawyers want to show jurors in the manslaughter case ... Michael was ill or even dying before the fateful morning ... so it wasn't really the June 25 Propofol injections that killed MJ.

MJ's Alleged Gay Lover -- I Stand By My Story!

The man who claims he was Michael Jackson's gay lover says Dr. Arnie Klein is trying to sabotage his credibility because Klein is afraid the man will incriminate him during the Conrad Murray trial.

Jason Pfeiffer -- who once worked as Klein's office manager -- tells TMZ he's sticking to his story -- that he had a sexual relationship with the King of Pop -- despite Dr. Klein's recent Facebook post, calling MJ's gay affair a lie.

Jason insists, "The story is true. We had a relationship with sexual aspects, but I'm not going to make it into some grand love affair."

As we previously reported -- Klein himself had told TMZ that Michael Jackson had a gay relationship with Jason ... even calling Jason "the love of [Michael's] life."

But the good doc has since changed his story, writing on Facebook recently, "Allegations about ... Jason being Michael Jackson's lover are ridiculous. That story was made up ... "

Now, Jason claims Dr. Klein has a secret agenda to publicly discredit him -- in case Jason's possible testimony could paint Klein in an unflattering light.

Jason adds, "Klein was the one that pushed for me to release the story in the first place."

MJ Autopsy Photos ALLOWED In Dr. Murray Trial

The judge in the Conrad Murray involuntary manslaughter case has allowed prosecutors to present TWO photos taken at Michael Jackson's autopsy to be used as evidence at trial.

TMZ has learned ... one of the photos shows the pop star clothed -- while laid out on a gurney.

The other photo shows Jackson's naked body -- but the judge explained "certain parts" will be "blocked out." He didn't explain which parts.

The judge ruled the photos are relevant under the evidence code -- and are "not gruesome, graphic or inflammatory."
