Cleveland Browns Police Threaten to Pull Protection Over Player's Dead Cop Post
Cleveland Browns player Isaiah Crowell's apology for a tasteless social media attack on cops is falling on deaf ears -- and in fact, police tell TMZ Sports ... they'll pull out of the Browns' stadium in protest.
Crowell got blasted for posting an illustration last week of a cop getting his throat slashed by a masked person. He posted it on Wednesday -- after Alton Sterling and Philando Castile's deaths, but the day before 5 Dallas officers were shot and killed.
The running back deleted the post and the Browns demanded he publicly apologize, which he did.
Chad Johnson Nabs NFL Coaching Gig

Johnson says he asked his former Bengals, and current Browns head coach, Hue Jackson, for a coaching job ... and to Chad's surprise, H.J. said yes.
Chad says he will be in Cleveland on July 28th, ready to coach. We're told the gig is just for training camp ... as of now.
However, it sounds like Chad has bigger plans ... telling us, "I'm not leaving!"
FYI -- Johnson played 11 seasons in the NFL ... but hasn't been involved in the league since 2011.

In fact, the jersey is #12 ... his good friend Josh Gordon -- who not only picked up Manziel after a Hollywood car crash back in April, but also partied with Johnny at Coachella.
It's a pretty ballsy move for JFB to don the Browns gear considering how Cleveland feels about him -- which begs the question ... sympathy play or laundry day?
Judge for yourself.

Johnny Manziel CUT
The Cleveland Browns have officially cut socialite and occasional football player Johnny Manziel ... announcing the move Friday via the team's Twitter account.
It wasn't unexpected ... most league insiders thought the Browns had grown weary of Manziel's antics -- including a grand jury investigation into an incident with his ex-GF -- and new head coach Hue Jackson had been publicly lukewarm on the idea of keeping Johnny around.
As for Manziel ... he's seemed completely unaffected by the career uncertainty, hitting up hot spots in Miami, Vegas, and L.A. all in the last month and partying with the likes of Scott Disick.
It's been reported up to three teams are still interested in subsidizing Manziel's club hopping ... and he told TMZ Sports he's completely dedicated to football ... so we're guessing this isn't the last we've heard of him.

When asked about the police report which says he allegedly threatened to kill himself during the dispute, Johnny denied that too ... adding, "I'm completely stable. I'm safe and secure."
It's interesting ... according to the police reports, as cops interviewed Colleen at her home she became irritated with the officer's questions and became "increasingly uncooperative." She also refused to allow cops to photograph her alleged injuries.
Johnny added, "I have great things coming ahead" ... though he didn't expand on what those things are.
"I know I've been having fun but I just need to get my body right."
"I'm 100% committed to playing football."

Similarly, Fort Worth PD's Sgt. Enright tells TMZ Sports there's no investigation there either ... because "no criminal offense was reported to have occurred within our jurisdiction." Colleen lives in Fort Worth ... so police there took the initial report. But the alleged hitting would have happened in Dallas.
It's pretty clear ... the cops have problems with Crowley's version of events.
Johnny Manziel's girlfriend Colleen Crowley told police the NFL star struck her "several times" during a dispute on January 30th ... this according to the police report obtained by TMZ Sports.

Jim Brown I Still Like Manziel Hope We Don't Trade Him
Johnny Manziel still has one strong supporter in Cleveland ... the greatest Browns player of all time, Jim Brown ... who says he wants his team to KEEP Johnny Football ... no matter what.
"To be honest, I don't want to see him traded or anything like that," Brown said at the 16th Annual Greater Cleveland Sports Awards.
"I just never feel that's the answer to anything. But that's my opinion and I don't expect you to feel that way. I like Johnny."
"I don't think that Johnny is a bad guy," Brown said (as reported by Cleveland.com).
"But I think he needs someone to deal with him, give him an opportunity to be the nice Johnny, the intelligent Johnny. From all I hear, he should know what is right and wrong, etc. But we never know what is in the background of any of these youngsters."
"I like Johnny and I know a lot of kids that if you don't know how to deal with them, you lose them."
"They don't come ready made, but on the other hand the argument is he's a man. He should know how to conduct himself. He has an opportunity and we've got all of that, but I like him and I hope they are able to relate and if they are able to relate then he will respect the coach."
