Chris Brown Ordered Dragged and Shackled To D.C. for Assault Trial
Chris Brown may be yanked out of L.A. County Jail next month, shackled and put on Con Air bound for Washington D.C. ... where he will stand trial for allegedly assaulting a man.
The judge in the D.C. assault case has signed an order -- obtained by TMZ -- commanding the honchos at L.A. County Jail to release Chris to the U.S. Marshal.
The Rihanna judge has already ordered Chris to stay in the slammer until his April 17 D.C. assault trial, but the judge never determined how he would get there.
Even though the D.C. judge imposed the order Wednesday ... it's not a done deal. The Rihanna judge must sign off before the U.S. Marshal is able to grab the singer.
Chris' lawyer, Mark Geragos, opposes the order and says Chris is more than willing to voluntarily fly to D.C.

Chris Brown Jail Is Terrible I Feel Like a 'Caged Animal'
Chris Brown says he's finally been scared straight -- because he learned pretty quickly ... jail sucks.
You'd think the photos of Rihanna's battered face would have left an impression ... on him. But apparently it took a few days in solitary to shake Chris to the core.
One source -- who recently spoke with Brown on the phone -- tells us, Chris says he feels like "a caged animal," calling it "the worst experience of my life."
We're told Chris has been spending his time behind bars working out and writing music. He's telling people on the phone, "I'll never f*** up again."
Not particularly convincing.
Lucky for Chris ... he's rich enough to buy his way out of jail -- as we reported, he's negotiating to pay off his alleged assault victim in D.C. so the case goes away and the judge in the Rihanna case lets him loose ... to roam freely again.

Chris Brown I Can Get Out of Jail For the Right Price
It sure seemed Chris Brown was checkmated -- sitting in jail as the clock ticks for his D.C. assault trial that could trigger a probation violation in the Rihanna case that could land him in prison for 4 years .... but TMZ has learned his lawyer has found a way out of the hole ... by paying LOTS OF MONEY.
Sources connected with the D.C. assault case tell TMZ ... Chris' lawyer, Mark Geragos, has contacted the lawyer for the man who claims Chris assaulted him in D.C., breaking his nose, and offered him a BIG FAT CHECK.
We're told Geragos is gunning for a civil settlement ... which could very well mean the broken nose guy would tell prosecutors he no longer has an interest in pursuing the criminal case. And our sources say prosecutors are aware of the civil settlement negotiations.
We're told Geragos may have already sealed the deal but if not ... it should be done in a day or 2.
So here's the likely resolution. The alleged victim gets a ton of money (our educated guess is several hundred thousand dollars), D.C. prosecutors drop the criminal assault case and the Rihanna judge then lets Chris out of jail either late this week or early next.
Smart move.

Chris Brown Jailed for a Month He Can't Stay Out of Trouble
Chris Brown will stay in jail until April 23 ... he was SHUT DOWN in court Monday afternoon in his bid to win release.
Chris was arrested after getting booted from rehab Friday. The judge had ordered him to stay in rehab while he decided whether Brown violated his probation in the Rihanna case. The judge had Chris arrested almost immediately after the rehab facility kicked him out.
The judge said Chris had an "inability to stay out of trouble." Hizzoner was especially concerned at a statement Chris made at the rehab joint, "I am good at using guns and knives."
So Chris will sit in jail until April 23. The judge wants Chris in the slammer until a D.C. jury decides if Chris committed criminal assault in an unrelated case. That trial is set for April 17 and should only last a few days. It's unclear if the judge will let Chris back to attend the trial.
The L.A. judge will hold a probation violation hearing on April 23, and if Chris is convicted in D.C. he's in big trouble. Worst case scenario ... he could be sentenced to 4 years in prison for violating probation in the Rihanna case. One of the conditions -- obey all laws.
TMZ broke the story, Chris was booted from rehab Friday for violating three internal rules at the facility -- most significantly ... violating a rule specifically for Chris -- stay at least 2 feet away from every woman in the facility. He was seen touching a woman's elbow and hands.
He also violated the rule requiring him to submit to a random drug test. He belatedly had a change of heart and came up clean, but the initial refusal was a violation.
And Chris talked smack about rehab during a group therapy session.
Chris was arrested immediately after he got kicked out ... staying in rehab was a requirement of the judge pending his trial in D.C. next month for assault.

Brown was in court for a progress hearing. The judge felt the criminal complaint in D.C. is enough proof that Chris did NOT obey all laws ... which he's required to do while on probation
The judge did not remand Chris into custody, because hizzoner was impressed by Chris' progress in his anger management rehab. The judge will hold a hearing on the matter in February, and it's possible he could sentence Chris to time in the pokey.
