Demi Lovato I Haven't Overcome My Addiction ... Rehab Almost Certain
Demi Lovato has broken her silence on her near-fatal overdose almost two weeks ago, saying she hasn't beaten her addiction ... and wants to focus on sobriety and almost certainly rehab.
The "Sorry Not Sorry" singer posted an open letter on social media Sunday saying ... "I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I've learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet."
She goes on to thank God for keeping her alive through the ordeal, her fans for their love and support, and the staff at Cedars-Sinai for working diligently to nurse her back to relative health.
She finishes by saying ... "I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery. The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side. I will keep fighting."
As we reported, Demi agreed to enter a rehab facility immediately after her release from the hospital. And her message is clear ... she's going to follow through.
We broke the story ... Demi was rushed to the hospital late last month after suffering an overdose at her Hollywood Hills home. She was revived with Narcan, but did not disclose which drug she'd been using.

Demi Lovato Assistant Screamed, 'She's Dead!!!' ... Bodyguard May Have Saved Her Life
Demi Lovato was in such dire condition when she OD'd her assistant thought she was dead, and one of her bodyguards may have saved her life ... TMZ has learned.
Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ, the bodyguard somehow knew there was an emergency at Demi's home a week ago Tuesday morning, and when he entered the home Demi's assistant was screaming, "She's dead, she's dead!"
We're told the bodyguard rushed to Demi's side and it appeared she was not breathing. Our sources say there was blood on her pillow ... an ominous sign, because it's evidence of hemorrhaging. It appears there was also vomit and her airways may have been clogged.
Our sources say the bodyguard administered some sort of first aid to keep Demi alive before paramedics arrived. Based on what we're told it appears the bodyguard propped Demi up and tried clearing her airway which allowed her to breathe.
As we reported ... when paramedics arrived they administered Narcan, which reverses the effects of an opioid OD.
Our sources say the bodyguard, the assistant and others on Demi's team were aware she had fallen off the wagon months before. As early as Coachella in April, we're told Demi was "way out of it" at French Montana's house party.

Demi Lovato has agreed to go to rehab, and plans have already been made with the facility ... TMZ has learned.
Sources with direct knowledge tell us, Demi's family has squarely raised the issue of rehab with her ... something they delayed for days because of the many complications resulting from the OD. Demi was very sick and her family did not want to upset her with something that might trigger conflict.
We're told she's still at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, but one source says, "She's getting out any day now." Our sources say there will be no transition ... it's right from Cedars to a live-in rehab facility.
We do not know which facility Demi will enter and whether it's in California or another state.
As we reported, the situation is so dire, at least one member of her team said they would quit if Demi rejected rehab.

Demi Lovato Leaving Hospital This Week ... Now It's Rehab, or Else
Demi Lovato is doing a lot better and the plan is for her to get out of the hospital this week, but she's now faced with a decision ... go to rehab, or lose a lot of the people close to her.
Sources with firsthand knowledge tell TMZ, Demi has stabilized from her overdose -- an OD that was so bad she was in danger of dying -- and her team is making plans to send her to rehab. The decision is ultimately Demi's, and we're told the people closest to her, along with some of the people who work for her, are going to draw a line in the sand -- either go to a facility for help, or lose our number.
At least one key person who works for Demi tells TMZ, they will quit if she doesn't check herself in. As the source said, "She could die if she doesn't, and that's not going to be on my watch that we did nothing."
Our sources say Demi fell off the wagon months ago and refused help, so everyone around her is nervous. They believe, however, that the OD and the subsequent complications in the hospital have sufficiently scared her that she'll go to a live-in facility for extended treatment.

As we reported, she is still very ill, suffering from extreme nausea and a high fever, among other things.
We're told doctors are not even predicting when she might get out of the hospital, so there's still time to discuss. Multiple people who have had contact with Demi tell us they have no idea how she will receive the message that she desperately needs rehab. As one source said, "We just don't know where her head is at."
Demi can't be forced to go to rehab ... it will have to be her decision. Demi Lovato Still Hospitalized 'Complications' 6 Days After OD
Demi Lovato is still at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center ... where she's been since OD'ing on drugs last Tuesday. As for why, we're told Demi is very, very sick.
Sources with firsthand knowledge tell TMZ, she is suffering extreme nausea and a high fever, among other things. We're told these are among the "complications" related to the overdose.
As we reported, Demi's OD was so severe her life was in jeopardy. She was unconscious when paramedics arrived at her house and had to be revived with Narcan -- an antidote to an opioid OD.
Demi would not tell EMTs what drug or drugs she had taken, but it appeared to be some sort of opioid.
Doctors have not decided when Demi can be released from the hospital, but one source said, "She is under the care of medical experts and is expected to make a full recovery."
What we don't know ... whether she's inclined to enter a rehab facility when she's released. We know the people around her want her to go -- she's been on a downhill slide for months -- but ultimately it's Demi's decision.
Demi Lovato OD Was Life and Death
Demi Lovato could have died Tuesday from her overdose -- it was that serious -- sources connected to the singer tell TMZ.
We're told the 911 call did not come a minute too soon, because Demi was in dire straits. "She could have died," said a source with firsthand knowledge. Demi was unconscious when she was discovered at around 11:30 AM and the 911 call was placed.
TMZ broke the story ... Demi received Narcan to counter the effects of opioids. As we reported, Demi and those who were at the house refused to disclose the drug or drugs that caused her to OD.
TMZ obtained the 911 call ... in which the person at Demi's home asked the dispatcher if the emergency vehicles could come without sirens -- presumably because they wanted to keep the OD on the down-low. The dispatcher informed the caller the sirens would stay on.
Demi remains hospitalized. We're told those around her want her to enter a rehab facility when she's released, but ultimately the decision is squarely hers.

Macklemore on Demi Lovato 'Addiction Ties Us Addicts Together' Dedicates 'Otherside' to Her
Macklemore offered Demi Lovato some strong words of encouragement because -- as the rapper said at his concert while dedicating a track to her -- he's been there before.
Macklemore was performing at Xfinity Center in Massachusetts Tuesday night when he dedicated "Otherside" to Demi following news she'd been hospitalized for an overdose. The 2009 track touches on drug addiction and what it's like to fall into a seemingly hopeless downward spiral.
Macklemore -- who went to rehab at 25 -- called addiction a disease "that ties us addicts together." He called Demi his "sister in recovery" and added he knows what it's like to slip. The Seattle rapper not only dedicated the track to Demi, but to anyone else struggling with addiction.
TMZ broke the story ... paramedics found Demi unconscious after she OD'd at her Hollywood Hills home Tuesday. Demi had been struggling with drugs for weeks before she OD'd.

Luann de Lesseps Boozy Partying, Pissed Off Kids Sparked Rehab Decision
Luann de Lesseps going back into rehab might have shocked fans, but the people closest to her knew she was only pretending to be sober for weeks now ... TMZ has learned.
Sources close to the 'Real Housewives' star tell us she fell off the wagon at least 2 weeks before Bethenny Frankel announced her 'RHONY' pal was reentering a rehab facility -- the second time in less than year.
We're told friends point to a July 2 pic Luann posted with her ex-husband, declaring she'd been sober for 6 months -- no small feat for someone in recovery.
However, the very next day things fell apart rather publicly at a charity event in the Hamptons. Our sources say Luann made a late and noisy entrance -- disrupting a piano performance -- then was seen hitting up the bar, and hitting on several guys in a very touchy-feely way.
We're told friends think there are a number of reasons she slipped. One being her Christmas Eve arrest in Florida, but more recently she was sued by her 2 adult children for allegedly screwing them out of a trust.
Sources say the family divide weighed heavily on Luann. We've reached out to her camp, but no word back, yet.

Demi Lovato Sings 'Not Sober Anymore' ... Apologizes to Fans
It appears Demi Lovato has relapsed after 6 years of sobriety ... at least based on the lyrics in her new single.
The singer -- who struggled with bouts of cocaine addiction -- dropped the surprise track, "Sober" Thursday and sings, "Momma I'm so sorry. I'm not sober anymore. And daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor. To the ones who never left me, we've been down this road before. I'm so sorry, I'm not sober anymore."
Demi also seems to apologize to fans with the lyrics, "I wanna be a role model, but I'm only human." She also assures her fans there's no quit in her, and she will seek the help she needs.
It is possible she's singing about a past time in her life. We've reached out to her reps to get clarification, but haven't heard back yet.
On "Sober" she also sings, "I'm sorry that I'm here again. I promise I'll get help. It wasn't my intention. I'm sorry to myself."

Tommy Lee Takes Ugly Shot at Son ... I Dropped $130k on Your Rehab!!!
9:32 PM PT -- Brandon just responded to his dad's post ... "I thank my Dad for paying for my treatment. It's the best thing he has ever done for me. Today I am almost two years sober. Every day that goes by I feel ever more grateful. My clear mind has allowed me to do a lot with this time. So much so that I would like to offer to pay for his treatment."
Tommy Lee is taking the most disgusting shot yet in the war with his son, Brandon Lee -- bitching about all the money he's spent on raising him ... including the tab for rehab.
The Motley Crue drummer says he spent $130k to get Brandon treatment, another $40k on his 21st birthday ... and $10k on his own medical bills after Brandon knocked him out earlier this year. Tommy's finishing touch -- "Son acting like a victim on social media on father's day: Priceless."
Dad's clearly still fuming over the fact Brandon posted video on Father's Day showing Tommy out cold after their fight back in March -- but Dad's tweet takes it to a really ugly level.
Brandon's never gone public with any substance abuse issues, so IF it's true ... his own father just outed him. Not to mention the whole people in glass houses thing -- Tommy's battled addiction in the past, and even gone to rehab himself.
He might have locked up Dad of the Year, though, with the last braggadocious line of his angry tweet. Mic drop? Nice touch.

The Estate of Matthew Mellon, the heir to the banking dynasty who died last month on his way to rehab, wants to sell one of his big assets before it crashes and burns -- cryptocurrency.
The Estate -- estimated worth $100 million -- consists almost entirely of cryptocurrency. According to legal docs, the Estate is deeply concerned about the volatility of the digital money, noting since Matthew's death it's fluctuated by up to 30% of its value.
The Estate wants to unload the currency STAT ... faster than the normal course of action in probate court.

He has a vast art collection, including a Warhol ... and it looks like there may be a dogfight over who gets it.
