He's still got another month on the bench, but fighters are already trying to book a fight with Jon Jones -- starting with UFC star Alexander Gustafsson!

Some history ... Gustafsson had a title shot with Jones back in 2013 at UFC 165 -- and the fight was AWESOME!!!

AG lost in a unanimous decision -- but Jones was sent to the hospital for injuries after the fight and later called it the toughest fight of his career.

Both guys got a Fight of the Night bonus for the spectacular brawl.

Now, with Jones expected to be reinstated to fight again as early as October -- Alexander is making his pitch for a rematch!

"Congratulations [Jon Jones]," the #1 ranked lightweight contender wrote on social media ... "I'm really glad u are back!"

"[Daniel Cormier] is aiming for [Brock Lesnar] ... so let’s give the fans another legendary fight for the belt."

Gustafsson made sure to tag the UFC and Dana White.

As we previously reported, Jones is currently serving a suspension after testing positive for PEDs surrounding the Cormier fight at UFC 214.

Samantha Ronson probably wishes Eminem turned his metaphorical gun on himself and not at Machine Gun Kelly ... 'cause she's tearing the rapper to pieces for "Killshot" and thinks the diss track is absolute trash!!!

We got the DJ at LAX, and she wasted no time ripping Eminem a new one, saying his song is misogynistic, homophobic, lazy and something a 4-year-old would write. There was more, and you gotta see just how nuclear she went on Em.

The DJ says Marshall is a "f***ing old man" who has no business dragging Rihanna's name through the mud ... and the 2 rappers should take their feud and ugly hairstyles to the groomers.

What's got Sam so heated? Em opens "Killshot" with the line, "Rihanna just hit me on a text. Last night I left hickeys on her neck."

The line seems oddly out of place. You could ask, what the hell does RiRi have to do with MGK? Sam sees at as straight-up misogyny.

Machine Gun Kelly dodged danger during his concert in North Carolina when a fan got in his face -- but we're calling BS.

MGK was in Greensboro Tuesday night for his tour with Fall Out Boy, and at one point he got down to crowd level and stopped in front of this huge dude who started losing his s*** ... but stopped short of touching Kelly. The altercation looked totally staged.

You see the guy screaming at Kelly, and he even pretends to swing at his junk. Kelly never flinches, and his security on the ground with him doesn't seem too concerned.

Katt Williams had some explaining to do about Tiffany Haddish and a gun that was supposedly pulled on him and, while he finally cleared the air ... it wasn't without difficulty.

We got the comedian Monday night strolling the streets of L.A. after the Emmys -- with his own in hand -- and asked him to elaborate on Atlanta radio host Wanda Smith's husband allegedly pointing a gun at his face and chasing him to a supermarket across the street.

Katt plays more than coy here ... he's just downright speaking in riddles with us. But, he does make one thing clear -- the sitch would've been far more dire if a gun was involved.

Our camera guy also asks about the apparent hatchet burying that happened when he saw Tiffany at the award show. She posted photos of him kneeling before her in what looked like pure contrition.

We got Tiffany at LAX Tuesday morning who echoed Katt's stance here ... no beef to see here. In fact, she's even open to working with the comedian in the future.

Katt does apologize though, saying he's sorry for bringing her up in a disparaging way ... and giving a shout-out to another comedian who apparently set him straight.

John McCain's wife gracefully shut down Senator Lindsey Graham's assertion McCain would have grown to like Donald Trump if the two had spent more time together.

We caught up with Cindy McCain Monday at Reagan National Airport ... and she politely disagreed with Graham that her husband and the Prez could have mended fences.

Graham raised eyebrows in D.C. when he told the AP, "I regret that (McCain) didn't have more time with President Trump. Who knows what would have happened over time?"

Lindsey felt if John was able to forgive his captors in the Vietnam War, he could patch things up with Trump.

Cindy's not buying it. She says John is at peace with his actions.

You'll recall ... McCain took a parting shot at Trump before he died, and made clear the President was not welcome at his funeral.

Katt Williams didn't want any real smoke with Tiffany Haddish after dissing her badly on a radio show last week ... 'cause he was kneeling for the comedy queen at the Emmys.

Tiffany posted a series of photos Monday at the award show which show Katt taking a knee before her in deference ... and then the two of them posing together happily.

It appears the two comedians are good now after Katt questioned Tiffany's comedy chops this past Friday. You'll recall ... he said Tiffany hadn't proven herself as a touring comedian ... and insinuated that she only blew up after saying she wanted to sleep with Brad Pitt. Harsh stuff, but that all seems to be water under a bridge now.

Tiffany said she couldn't wait to see Katt at the Emmys, where they each picked up their respective awards. In a tweet, she elaborated by saying she just "to shower (him) with REAL Love cause you need it, and I Love you."

Gabriel "G-Rod" Rodriguez, the actor who stepped in the middle of Machine Gun Kelly's beef with Eminem ... is absolutely dying to step into the Octagon for a one-on-one fight with MGK.

G-Rod was already training in the gym Monday morning when he reiterated there's no need for lawyers to seek retribution for Kelly's crew beating the crap out of him ... he just wants to settle the score with his fists!

G-Rod explains his reasons for confronting MGK Friday at an Atlanta restaurant ... and why Kelly's diss track pissed him off in the first place.

G-Rod clearly knows his way around a punching bag ... and says he's even willing to drop weight classes to get on Kelly's level. So far, Kelly's not responding.

Machine Gun Kelly thinks Eminem needs some target practice ... 'cause Em "missed" when he fired back at MGK in their escalating feud.

MGK mocked Eminem onstage Sunday night, wearing a shirt with the logo from Marshall's extremely homophobic diss track, "Killshot."

Kelly made sure the crowd at the Amway Center in Orlando knew exactly how he feels about Eminem, screaming "F**k Marshall Mathers" as he opened the set with his own song aimed at Em.

MGK takes a shot at Em's age (he's 45), yelling, "The real Slim Shady can't stand up."

Apparently, Orlando is siding with Kelly ... 'cause the crowd goes nuts.

Smart move by MGK's tour manager ... there's no stop scheduled for Detroit.

An actor named G-Rod did Em's bidding Friday night. He called MGK a "p***y" for his shot at Em's daughter. Two hours later, Kelly's crew beat the crap out of G-Rod.

Machine Gun Kelly's bodyguards beat the bloody hell out of an actor who called out the rapper over the blood feud with Eminem ... TMZ has learned.

The violence started late Friday night in Atlanta ... cops say MGK and his crew were in a restaurant bar when the actor named Gabriel "G-Rod" Rodriguez walked up to him with his phone out and started recording. In the video, obtained by TMZ, you see G-Rod point at MGK and say, "I'm gonna say it because it has to be said, you're a pussy for going for family!" G-Rod tells us he was especially upset because he's a husband and father of 3 kids.

G-Rod was pissed at Kelly for his beef with Eminem -- which started when Kelly said Em's then-teenaged daughter, Hailie, is hot.

In the video, MGK appears to shove G-Rod and turn the phone away. The video stops there, but G-Rod says that's when 5 of MGK's bodyguards swooped in and, as he puts it, MGK suddenly got tough and started challenging him. G-Rod claims Kelly shoved him. He says the bar manager immediately sided with the celebrity ... and kicked out G-Rod.

G-Rod says 2 hours later he was walking toward a Hampton Inn -- across the street from the bar -- when he noticed MGK and his crew hanging outside their tour bus. When they started barking at each other an Atlanta PD officer stepped in to cool things down, but G-Rod says MGK went off ... calling the cop a "pussy" and "pig."

G-Rod says the officer did nothing in response -- which pissed of G-Rod. He told us if a black or Latino person had said that to a cop ... they'd immediately be tased or worse.

G-Rod says he went into the hotel lobby and MGK continued jawing at him ... with all his bodyguards standing around him. G-Rod, who's a pretty big dude, says he told them he'd fight each of them -- one at a time -- if they wanted a fight. Instead, he says the bodyguards all jumped him at once.

According to cops, who've seen surveillance video, one guard body slammed G-Rod and then 3 others started punching and kicking him in the face. G-Rod -- who's had roles in "Ozark," "Power" and "NCIS: New Orleans" -- says MGK wasn't involved at that point, he just let his bodyguards get physical.

G-Rod tells TMZ he's already hired a lawyer and intends to file a lawsuit against MGK, however, he adds, "I will drop the lawsuit if we both sign waivers and meet in an octagon and go man-to-man without goons or weapons."

Police are investigating, and G-Rod is at an ER getting treatment for severe facial injuries.

Oscar De La Hoya says some people were so PISSED at him after the first Canelo/GGG fight ended in a draw that they THREATENED HIS LIFE because they thought ODLH rigged the outcome.

The first fight was hotly contested, but most ringside observers thought GGG pulled it out. Couple that with a historically bad scorecard from judge Adalaide Byrd, and rumors of chicanery were afoot.

Oscar says he's hoping for a Canelo KO this time ... because it would be best for boxing -- AND HIS PERSONAL SAFETY -- for there to be no doubt about the outcome.

"You have no idea how many threats that I received because it was a draw ... People thought that I fixed it, as the promoter."

GGG and Canelo run it back Saturday night on HBO PPV ... and for his part, Oscar says he's as nervous for the fight as he's ever been for any of the times he stepped in the ring himself.

Hulk Hogan is weighing in on the Gennady Golvkin vs. Canelo Alvarez fight -- telling TMZ Sports his guy GGG is gonna beat on Canelo so badly, he'll turn him into "Canary" Alvarez.

"His feathers are gonna be flyin' and he's gonna be looking for some bird seed to try to get back on his feet, brother!"

We played the clip for Gennady -- and he loved it ... calling Hulk a legend and hoping he can turn Hogan's prediction into a reality.

The two finally get in the ring on Saturday night in Las Vegas. Gennady's camp is adamant Canelo is a cheater who purposely took a performance-enhancing drug.

In fact, GGG's trainer, Abel Sanchez, says Canelo's excuse that he unknowingly consumed tainted Mexican beef (and that's why he tested positive for Clenbuterol) is complete B.S.

Abel told us ... Canelo's nickname should be CCC -- "Canelo Con Carne."

LeBron James finally unblocked his new Lakers teammate, JaVale McGee, on Instagram this week ... so, when we saw JM at LAX, we had to ask ... WHY!?

Turns out, the whole thing dates back 5 years ... but JaVale tells TMZ Sports he's not sure if there's a specific incident that caused Bron to cut off access.

So, where was JaVale in 2013? He was playing for the Nuggets, and we can't seem to find any reports of an incident between the 2 guys.

The good news ... the unblocking seems to be an olive branch and JaVale says he and LeBron are getting along great now.

In fact, JaVale says he's confident the team has a real shot at an NBA title -- but notes, "Not gonna be easy of course. Hard work."

Everyone wants to know ... did Michael Irvin and Steve Smith throw fists after their heated smack talk session on "NFL Network" Thursday night???

Michael tells TMZ Sports ... when the cameras shut off, it was definitely more love than war -- but their dispute ain't over yet.

The whole thing started during the TNF pregame show -- Smith was offended when Michael said the Ravens haven't had a solid go-to WR since Anquan Boldin.

Smith shot back saying his stats (and his route running!!) dominated Irvin's -- and at one point, it seemed like the two might come to blows!!!

So, what happened after the show? Irvin says the two made peace ... sorta.

"Steve and I are great. I love Steve," Michael tells TMZ Sports ... "He's a competitor."

"He's a good friend but [being on the NFL Network pregame show] is also like a locker room."

Irvin also made it clear Smith's allegation that he wasn't a master route runner is B.S.

"I was pure route runner ... I ran routes that ended up in championships! That's all I keep telling people."

"Don't talk about how many receptions everybody had. Tell me about how many championships because that's all we're playing the game for."

"I understand you got those many receptions," Irvin said referencing Smith's impressive career stats ... "but I got the ring-a-ring-a-ring!!!"

Eminem just unleashed on Machine Gun Kelly in an extremely homophobic diss track that hit everything from MGK's career to his own daughter.

Em dropped "Killshot" Friday in response to MGK's diss track, "Rap Devil," that he dropped last week. In it, MGK took shots at Eminem's age, his beard and his miserable attitude. Fans weren't expecting Em to sit quiet, and he delivered. Some lyrics ...

"Die motherf**ker like the last motherf**ker saying Hailie in vain."

"You would suck a dick to be more for a second."

"My biggest flops are your greatest hits."

"You're a molehill ... I'll make a whole mountain out of you."

He also took aim at Tupac's death and accused Diddy of putting out the hit -- "The day you put out a hit is the day Diddy admits he put out the hit that got Pac killed" -- though at the end of the song, Em addresses Diddy, and says he's only kidding.

His last shot at MGK ... "Leave my dick in your mouth and take my daughter out of it."

So, we gotta ask ...

Canelo Alvarez says he doesn't want his rematch with Gennady Golovkin to go to the judges -- he wants to take matters into his own hands and knock the dude out in the 1ST ROUND.

TMZ Sports spoke with Canelo (via translator) about his upcoming fight with GGG -- and he made it clear, he wants to stop the killer from Kazakhstan by putting him on the canvas.

"Without a doubt, I’ll be going in there to knock him out, that’s what I’ve worked for," Canelo says ... "I’m gonna work from the first round to complete my objective which is to knock him out."

Canelo also responded to GGG's trainer Abel Sanchez -- who labeled the boxer a liar and a cheater for blaming tainted Mexican cow beef for that positive PED test.

"What he says brings me more desire to win," Canelo says ... "At this point, I don’t know whether to laugh or get mad at what he’s saying. But, at the end of the day, he’s not gonna be the one getting in the ring."

"I’m gonna demonstrate my victory with facts and by getting in the ring with his fighter on Saturday."

Sad about Drake and Meek Mill squashing their beef? Don't worry ... Frank Ocean and Travis Scott have you covered, 'cause they're at each other's throats over a track on "Astroworld."

Sources close to the singer and rapper tell TMZ ... Frank and Travis started beefing in the weeks leading up to the August release of Travis' "Astroworld" album, which immediately shot up to No. 1 on Billboard. The beef's about "Carousel" featuring Frank.

We're told Frank's PISSED because his vocals -- featured in the chorus and third verse -- were changed. It's unclear what changes were made. Frank's voice includes Auto-Tune ... and his pitch is noticeably higher in the third verse than in the chorus, but we just don't know what's got Frank so upset.

Here's what we do know -- Frank's rage has been so real he's been demanding Travis remove his part in the track, but to no avail. Our sources say lawyers are now involved. We're told Frank's legal team fired off a cease and desist to Travis' team to remove him from "Carousel" ... OR ELSE!

For his part, Travis hasn't flinched. We're told the rapper has ZERO plans to remove Frank from the track ... which has received critical acclaim from just about everyone.
