Major League Baseball will go silent Wednesday night -- at least for a few moments -- as all thirty teams will hold a moment of silence following the death of one of the greatest players of all time, Willie Mays.

Mays, arguably the greatest player ever, died Tuesday at the age of 93.

TMZ Sports has learned MLB quickly put a plan together ... all 15 of today's games won't start before the tens of thousands in attendance have a moment to remember the 24x All-Star.

Willie Mays, one of the greatest baseball players to ever step foot on a baseball diamond, died at 93, Major League Baseball announced Tuesday evening.

Mays had been living in an assisted living facility in the Palo Alto, CA area, according to the Giants.

"The Say Hey Kid" was 24x MLB All-Star, 12x Gold Glove winner, Rookie of the Year, and 2x NL MVP who patrolled the massive Polo Grounds center field for the New York Giants before the team relocated to San Francisco in the late-50s.

Hiram Kasten -- a force on the New York City comedy scene in the 1970s and '80s who appeared on "Seinfeld" -- has died.

The actor-comedian passed away Sunday after battling various illnesses including prostate cancer ... according to an obituary posted to his official Facebook page.

In the obituary, Kasten's remembered as a hilarious comedian, charming guy and terrific family man who rose to fame during New York City's comedy boom of the 1980s.

Olivia Newton-John's Instagram account's under fire after posting a pic of the late star in support of Pride ... with commenters rushing to blast the post's intention.

The actress -- who passed away back in 2022 -- still has an active social media account, and the IG admin decided to share a snap of ONJ in a rainbow-covered sweater ... wishing all of the late actress' followers a Happy Pride Month.

While it seems a rather innocuous post, it started a firestorm among Newton-John's followers ... who flooded the comments section with a ton of homophobic comments.

Mama June always keeps her daughter close to her ... revealing she has Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell's ashes in a piece of jewelry she always wears.

The reality star revealed the news to People in an interview published Saturday ... saying she has a bracelet filled with Anna's ashes -- partially as her way of keeping Cardwell's memory alive.

MJ told the outlet she's always toting Anna around and talks about her daughter a lot -- so, it certainly seems the late 29-year-old is never far from her mom's mind.

Angela Bofill – the R&B vocalist best known for her songs, "I Try" and "Angel of the Night," has died.

Bofill passed away at her daughter's home in Vallejo, California. Her cause of death was not disclosed, but she had previous health issues.

In 2006 and 2007, Bofill suffered two strokes, causing paralysis on the left of her body.

The cause of death for ex-NBA player Darius Morris has just been revealed ...  heart disease is the killer, with drug and alcohol use playing a big role.

Darius' official cause of death is coronary artery disease ... according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

According to the ME's death investigation summary, obtained by TMZ Sports, drug and alcohol use was a significant factor in Darius' death ... specifically, the effects of cocaine, hydrocodone and ethanol.

Nick Mavar -- who was once a deckhand on the F/V Northwestern on "Deadliest Catch" -- has died ... TMZ has learned.

The Police Chief of Bristol Bay Borough Police Department in Alaska tells TMZ ... the ex-Discovery Channel star died Thursday afternoon in Naknek -- this after experiencing a medical emergency of some sort.

Antonia and Johanna Bennett just filed legal docs claiming their sibling, Danny Bennett, hasn't been straight with them over questions about the finances of the Bennett Family Trust -- which they say Danny has been running as trustee.

Per the docs, obtained by TMZ, Antonia and Johanna say they've grown suspicious of what exactly Danny has done with their father's fortune -- estimating that their dad brought in north of $100 million in live performances alone over the past 15 years of his active career.

Johnny Canales -- a Tejano TV legend credited with introducing Selena Quintanilla to mainstream audiences -- has died.

The longtime broadcaster's wife, Nora, announced his passing on social media Friday ... thanking fans for their love and support in a poignant Facebook post. She didn't get into the exact circumstances of his death, but did speak on his legacy.

Nora wrote ... "He was more than just a beloved husband, father, TV host, musician, and entertainer; he was a beacon of hope and joy for countless people. His infectious charisma and dedication to promoting Latino music and culture left a large mark on the world."

9:16 AM PT -- The NBA will hold a moment of silence in Jerry West's honor prior to Game 3 of the Dallas Mavericks vs. Boston Celtics Finals matchup on Wednesday, TMZ Sports is told.

The NBA world is mourning the passing of one of its legends, Jerry West ... with Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant's wife, Vanessa, among those expressing their grief shortly after the announcement.

"I am so deeply saddened at the news of Jerry's passing," Jordan said following the news on Wednesday.

NBA legend Jerry West -- the inspiration behind the league's iconic logo -- has sadly died.

The Los Angeles Clippers said in a statement the Hall of Famer passed away on Wednesday morning with his wife, Karen, by his side.

No further details surrounding his death were released.

Enchanting -- the Texas-born female rapper who was once positioned to be the First Lady of Gucci Mane's 1017 Records -- died suddenly this week ... leaving him completely gutted.

On his IG, Gucci posted a pic of Enchanting with the heartbroken caption ... "So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady a true star we gone all miss you Chant 😢 💔"

Several other hip hop artists -- Erica Banks, Lakeyah, Omeretta, Gloss Up and more -- also paid respects to their colleague after Lil CJ Kasino, an artist manager out of Fort Worth, confirmed the news on IG while reminiscing about the tracks she laid down in his studio.

The USGA is helping keep Grayson Murray's memory alive ... the golf org. just honored the late star with a tribute inside the locker room at Pinehurst, the site of this week's U.S. Open.

The silver plaque salute was placed right on the front of what would have been Murray's locker, and it was touching. It read, "The USGA remembers Grayson and pays tribute to the playing accomplishments that merited his place in the 124th U.S. Open Championship."

At the bottom, it added, "Be kind to one another."

Eminem's latest music video for the single "Houdini" is out, and among the millions viewing the banger is the family of the OG Batman Adam West, who loved the rapper's salute to his work.

In the video for the track, which is part of Em's upcoming "The Death of Slim Shady" LP -- he's back in the ol' Robin outfit he was wearing back in 2002 .... when “Without Me” rocketed to No. 1 on the charts.

Mark Kriski -- the KTLA weatherman who suffered a stroke last month -- should be getting out of the hospital soon ... so says his wife in her latest update.

Jennifer Gould shared the great news in an X post Saturday morning ... writing, "Update: SOMEONE IS COMING HOME NEXT WEEK!!! ...  We have a targeted date for discharge," before tagging a few related social media accounts.

It's the second positive update from Gould in as many weeks ... last week she told fans Mark was improving after a stroke landed him in the hospital -- but, this is the first we've heard of Kriski possibly heading home.
