Donald Trump Jury Finds Him Liable of Sexual Abuse In E. Jean Carroll Trial

UPDATE

2:25 PM PT -- E. Jean Carroll just released a statement, saying, "I filed this lawsuit against Donald Trump to clear my name and to get my life back. Today, the world finally knows the truth. This victory is not just for me but for every woman who has suffered because she was not believed."

Donald Trump was found liable in his battery and defamation trial involving E. Jean Carroll.

The jury of 6 men and 3 women reached the verdict Tuesday after deliberating for a mere 3 hours. They found the former president liable for defaming Carroll and sexually abusing her ... but not liable for rape. As a result, Carroll was awarded $5 million in damages.

As you know ... Carroll sued Trump for battery and defamation, claiming Trump raped her back in 1996 in a Manhattan department store dressing room. She said she was attacked by Trump after they ran into each other at the store and shopped together.

Trump maintained Carroll's allegation was just a "hoax" and claimed he wouldn't have raped her because she wasn't his type.

As we reported ... Carroll's attorney grilled Trump about his general treatment of women when he sat for a deposition as part of the suit.

DONNIE'S DEPOSITION

In the depo, recorded on video last October, Trump clarifies his hot mic comments during his 2005 interview with Billy Bush, where he infamously said ... "And when you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything, grab them by the p****. You can do anything."

Carroll's attorney asked Trump if that's indeed what he said, and without blinking he responded, "Well, historically, that's true with stars. If you look over the last million years, I guess that's been largely true."

Trump then shockingly adds ... "Unfortunately or fortunately."

While Trump never appeared in court during the trial, he ripped Carroll as a "whack job" and a "nut job" in his deposition.

It will be interesting to see if Trump references the verdict tomorrow during his CNN town hall.

Allen, Texas Active Shooter at Outlet Mall ... Gunfire Heard on Video

UPDATE

4:29 PM PT -- New dashcam footage appears to show the moment the gunman started firing off shots at shoppers -- and it looks like he just pulled up, hopped out and started in on a rampage.

UPDATE
UPDATE

The video is chilling. You also seem to see another car pull up right next to it -- although it's unclear if that someone trying to intervene, or another bad actor in this tagedy.

UPDATE

In any case, authorities are now saying the shooter is dead. An official body count hasn't been released.

An active shooter has been reported at an outdoor mall in the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area -- and videos are starting to surface showing the fear and chaos as people run for their lives.

Police said Saturday that they're responding to reports of someone opening fire at the Allen Premium Outlets, and are warning to public to steer clear of this area ... as the situation is fluid. First responders could be seen rushing to the scene and evacuating patrons.

Clips have made the rounds on Twitter, which show tons of bystanders booking it toward the parking lot and out of buildings -- this while multiple gunshots are heard being fired off.

As of now, there've been no confirmed reports about injuries and/or fatalities from the authorities -- but some preliminary info that's starting to circulate suggests there may be as many as five victims so far. The Allen Premium Outlets is currently on lockdown.

Other video shows swarms of shoppers -- including families and children, all of whom are panicked -- forming lines as they trickle into the open area away from the shops.

One video in particular -- which is incredibly graphic -- is making the rounds and appears to show footage taken from a news helicopter that's on the scene -- which seems to show a string of bodies covered in tarps on the ground ... with blood seeping out.

It's unclear if the shooter is still at large, or if the scene is still active at this point. All Allen PD has said thus far is that they're there and dealing with it.

Gervonta Davis Avoids Jail Time In Hit-&-Run Case ... Gets House Arrest

Gervonta Davis just scored a big win in court -- he avoided a jail sentence in his hit-and-run case ... getting hit with three months of house arrest instead.

The star boxer learned his fate inside of a Baltimore courtroom minutes ago ... less than three months after he cut a plea deal with prosecutors in the case.

As part of the agreement he made with officials back on Feb. 16, Davis pleaded guilty to four lesser offenses ... and at his sentencing hearing on Friday, a judge did not throw him behind bars, instead ordering him to serve 90 days of home detention. The 28-year-old fighter was also ordered to complete 200 hours of community service.

Davis was initially hit with 14 charges in the case back in March 2021 ... after authorities alleged he ran a red light in his 2020 Lamborghini Urus and slammed it into a Toyota on Nov. 5, 2020 -- just days after his big win over Leo Santa Cruz.

Prosecutors claimed a woman in the car that Davis hit was pregnant at the time of the wreck. They accused Davis of never offering her assistance before fleeing the scene.

If convicted on all of the charges, Davis had faced a potential maximum of 7 YEARS and 55 days in prison.

Davis, who just scored the biggest win of his boxing career in a fight with Ryan Garcia last month, ain't out of the woods criminally just yet ... even though he closed out the case in Baltimore on Friday -- he still has a case lingering over his head in Broward County, Fla.

In that case, the boxer is facing a misdemeanor battery charge -- stemming from allegations he roughed up a woman during a heated Dec. 27 argument. He's due in court for a hearing on the matter later this month.

Jorge Masvidal's Dad Arrested For Attempted Murder ... After Shooting At Fighter's Home

Jorge Masvidal's father has been arrested for attempted murder ... after he allegedly shot a man in the arms during a dispute at the ex-UFC star's Miami-area home on Thursday afternoon.

Jail records show Jorge Masvidal Sr. was booked at 1:33 AM Friday ... following allegations the 67-year-old opened fire on a man near the kitchen of Jorge Masvidal Jr.'s house roughly 12 hours earlier.

According to an arrest affidavit, obtained by TMZ Sports, Masvidal Sr. was at the Florida home with a man named Luis Leoncini -- when the two got into a verbal argument.

According to the docs, authorities say Leoncini told cops Masvidal Sr. shot him after the tiff, inflicting gunshot wounds to both of his arms.

It's unclear what sparked the alleged dispute ... but according to the affidavit, Leoncini was transported to a local hospital.

Meanwhile, Masvidal Sr., officials say in the docs, was taken into custody at 3:26 PM -- and later booked on a charge of attempted second-degree murder with a deadly weapon with a firearm.

Authorities added in the docs that following a search of the home, they found a .38 caliber revolver inside a kitchen cabinet.

It should be noted cops told us on Thursday evening that Masvidal Jr. was not present during the alleged shooting -- and "did not have any involvement" in it all.

Jail records show Masvidal Sr. is still behind bars as of Thursday morning. Masvidal Jr. has not yet publicly commented on the matter.

Ed Sheeran Found Not Liable In Marvin Gaye Copyright Trial

UPDATE

11:01 AM PT -- Ed Sheeran just addressed the media outside the courthouse, taking some serious jabs at the Townsend estate, and accusing them of trying to alter his song in a way for the jury to believe it was stolen from Marvin Gaye's classic.

Ed says, "It's devastating to be accused of stealing someone else's song when we've put so much work into our livelihoods."

Before thanking his legal time, Ed concluded, "I'm just a guy with a guitar who loves writing music for people to enjoy. I am not and never will allow myself to be a piggy bank for anyone to shake."

The jury has spoken in Ed Sheeran's copyright trial -- he's been found not liable for ripping off one of Marvin Gaye's classics, "Let's Get It On."

The singer received the verdict on Thursday in a Manhattan federal court after a jury made the decision.

As we reported, the estate of Ed Townsend, co-writer of "Let's Get it On," slapped the lawsuit on Sheeran ... alleging the 2014 hit "Thinking Out Loud" ripped key elements of the 1973 Marvin Gaye classic -- claiming several aspects like the melody and even harmony were a match.

SHEERAN GOES TO COURT

Sheeran was present in court for the legal battle, and even testified during the trial ... part of it in the form of a song! He pulled out his guitar and played the tune in question during his time on the stand as a way to show them his creative process.

He testified Marvin's song was nowhere near his or his co-writer Amy Wadge's minds when they brought his track to life ... claiming he doesn't really put a ton of time into crafting his tracks and just pulls inspiration from whatever's going down in his life at the time.

It was a move that some thought could go a long way -- having a star play for the super small crowd for sure had the potential to sway the jury. He also testified he'd be "quite an idiot to stand on a stage in front of 20,000 people" after ripping off a classic.

Sheeran claimed he'd quit music forever if he lost ... so the decision is good news for Ed's fans.

Texas Mass Shooter Taken Into Custody ... After Killing 5 Neighbors Execution Style

UPDATE

5:42 AM PT -- San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers held a press conference Tuesday night and provided new information on the arrest of Francisco Oropeza. Oropeza was hiding out inside a home allegedly tied to one of his relatives in Conroe, TX, -- just miles from the scene of the massacre.

UPDATE

Videos have surfaced online, which show investigators escorting Oropeza in handcuffs away from the house. In another clip, a shirtless Oropeza can be seen in the passenger seat of a police SUV as several cops keep their eyes on him. Oropeza's wife has also been arrested.

The man accused of shooting five of his neighbors "execution-style" in Texas has been apprehended after a nationwide manhunt.

Senior law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Francisco Oropeza was taken into custody Tuesday by law enforcement.

Remember ... Oropeza is accused of shooting his neighbors Friday night in Cleveland, Texas after they complained about him firing off rounds for target practice on his property.

Oropeza's alleged rampage killed 5 people in the home next to his ... including an 8-year-old child. Cops say he was intoxicated on alcohol and/or drugs and used an AR-15-style rifle in the slayings.

Police say Oropeza was shooting his rifle in his yard late Friday night when his neighbors walked up to the fence dividing their properties and asked him to stop shooting his gun because their baby was trying to sleep.

Cops say Oropez grew annoyed, telling his neighbors ... "I'll do what I want to in my front yard." Police say he then marched over to the neighbor's house, went inside and started shooting.

There were at least 10 people inside the home when Oropeza opened fire, police said, and most were killed at super close range and from the neck up.

Oropeza was reportedly caught on a Ring doorbell camera entering the home ... and 3 kids were discovered without physical injuries inside the house. They were found drenched in blood in what was sure to be a traumatic experience. The women who were killed were using their bodies to shield the kids.

A Texas judge issued an arrest warrant for Oropeza after the shootings, and he went on the run. Investigators thought he may have fled the country, and the FBI joined police in a manhunt.

The firearm Oropeza allegedly used in the deadly rampage has since been recovered ... along with some of his clothes and his cell phone.

Bryce Young Panthers Draft QB No. 1 Overall!!!

Bryce Young is now officially the future in Carolina -- the Panthers just took the former Univ. of Alabama quarterback with the #1 overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft!!!

The 21-year-old shared a big embrace with Roger Goodell after the league's commish made the announcement ... and everyone in Carolina's war room could be seen smiling ear-to-ear on the draft's broadcast.

Of course, most expected this to happen ... Young had been the favorite to be the Panthers' selection for weeks -- but Carolina and its fans were thrilled over it all Thursday night nonetheless.

Young was certainly deserving of the pick ... in three seasons at Alabama, the signal-caller completed over 65 percent of his passes, threw 80 touchdowns to only 12 interceptions and had a 165.0 passer rating.

Young also won the 2020 CFB national championship under Coach Nick Saban ... while earning the 2021 Heisman Trophy.

Young set numerous records for the Crimson Tide too -- he threw for the most single-season passing yards (4,872) and the most single-season passing TDs (47) in Bama history.

The Panthers are now hoping Bryce can provide them some stability at the QB position ... as the team's struggled to find a consistent starter since Cam Newton initially left the team following the 2019 season.

Last year, Carolina rolled out a combination of Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, and P.J. Walker -- but all three QBs struggled to succeed, and the Panthers missed the playoffs.

Congrats, Bryce ... no pressure from here!!

NBA Star Anthony Edwards Attorney Slams Assault Charges ... 'Baseless'

Anthony Edwards' attorney is livid that prosecutors elected to hit the NBA superstar with assault charges this week ... saying the counts against his client are "baseless."

Harvey Steinberg, Edwards' rep, released a scathing statement on the matter on Thursday afternoon ... a day after the Timberwolves' guard was cited for tossing around a folding chair in the aftermath of Minnesota's loss to the Nuggets in Denver.

"With the game over," Steinberg said, "Anthony's exit from the court was partially obstructed by a chair, which he moved and set down three steps later."

"As video of the incident confirms, Anthony did not swing the chair at anyone and of course did not intend to hurt anyone."

The attorney added, "Anthony intends to vigorously defend against these baseless charges."

According to the Denver Police Dept., when Edwards picked up the chair and spun it in his arms, he struck two women with it. Cops say both suffered injuries.

Edwards, whose T-Wolves team was eliminated from the NBA playoffs after Tuesday night's loss, is now due in court for a hearing on the matter in June.

NBA Star Anthony Edwards Cited For Assault ... Over Postgame Chair-Swinging Incident

Anthony Edwards has been cited for assault, TMZ Sports has confirmed ... after the NBA superstar swung a chair in frustration following the Timberwolves' loss on Tuesday night.

The incident happened just after Minnesota dropped its playoff series to the Nuggets in Denver ... when Edwards was running off the floor, ticked off over the 112-109 defeat that sent the Wolves into their offseason.

Video shows as the 21-year-old was on his way into the locker room, he grabbed a folding chair and swung it around. He ultimately dropped it ... before he continued on his way to Minnesota's dressing area.

But according to the Denver Police Department, two women who were working the game at Ball Arena claim they were struck by the chair as Edwards spun it in his arms. Cops say they suffered injuries during the incident.

According to police documents, Edwards was cited for misdemeanor third-degree assault -- knowingly or recklessly causing bodily injury.

If convicted, Edwards faces up to 18 months in jail and/or fines totaling $1,000.

He's due in court for a hearing on the matter in June.

The Wolves said in a statement Wednesday evening they were aware of the citation and "are in the process of gathering more information. We have no further comment at this moment."

RUN IT BACK

President Joe Biden is ready to do it all again and run for reelection -- with VP Kamala Harris right at his side.

Biden made the big announcement in a slick 3-plus minute campaign video released Tuesday morning, prominently featuring the incumbent democrats and putting to rest speculation that Harris would be replaced on the ticket. The announcement also foreshadowed a possible rematch between Biden and former president and top Republican candidate Donald Trump, who lost to Biden in the 2020 election.

In the video, Biden and Harris are seen together at the White House and on the campaign trail, warmly greeting and chatting with people. Biden's voice plays over the footage as he explains that Americans continue to be in a battle for the soul of the country.

In the years ahead, Biden says pivotal questions still remain about whether Americans will have more or less freedoms and individual rights. He ends his speech with this, "That's why I'm running for reelection."

Although Biden's announcement came as no surprise -- he'd been hinting at it for months -- the 46th President has been dogged by criticism of his heightened age and mental and physical fitness. If he were to win reelection, Biden would be 82 at the start of his second term.

A recent NBC news poll showed that 70 percent of Americans and more than half of Democrats would like to see someone other than Biden on the ticket, citing his age. But, the poll also revealed that a whopping 88% of Democrats would definitely or probably vote for Biden against his opponent in the general election.

Aaron Rodgers Jet-Setting To NY!!! ... Packers Trading Star QB

Aaron Rodgers is finally getting his wish ... the NFL superstar is being traded to the New York Jets!!

The Packers will send the quarterback to NY in exchange for a bunch of draft picks ... according to Adam Schefter, the deal will include two second-rounders, one of which could turn into a 1st-rounder in 2024 if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the Jets' snaps this season.

Schefter reported Rodgers will switch from No. 12 to No. 8 when he officially arrives in New York.

The trade signals the end of a historic career in Green Bay for Rodgers, who after being picked in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft, piled up an insane resume.

He won four MVPs in 18 seasons, got a Super Bowl win, made 10 Pro Bowl teams, and earned All-Pro honors four times. He also piled up a career 147-75-1 record -- while throwing for 59,055 yards and 475 TDs.

His reign in Wisconsin, though, wasn't without drama ... he consistently butted heads with execs in the front office over personnel decisions and more -- especially at the end of his career ... leading to his eventual departure Monday.

But, New York players are no doubt thrilled he'll be wearing green and white this season ... because everyone from Sauce Gardner to Quinnen Williams to Garrett Wilson had been recruiting him like crazy this entire offseason.

If you're wondering, the Jets won't play the Packers in 2023 -- unless they meet in the Super Bowl ... fingers crossed!!

Tucker Carlson Fired by FOX News

Tucker Carlson is out at FOX News -- a stunning development that comes on the heels of the cable news giant's massive nine-figure settlement of the Dominion Voting defamation case.

The often controversial media personality's been a ratings king for years now in his primetime slot, but the network says this past Friday was his last show. The company says it's agreed to part ways with him, not giving any further reason or context.

They add, "We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor."

Instead of "Tucker Carlson Tonight" coming on at 8 PM ET, which was his usual start time, FOX says "FOX News Tonight" will air live in its place as an interim show with a rotating list of FOX personalities hosting until a permanent one is named.

Tucker has been helming his program at FOX for years now -- dating back to 2016 -- and killing his competition at other networks. Prior to getting his show, he had worked at FOX as a contributor and journalist since 2009.

This move comes after FOX agreed to pay $787.5 million to settle the lawsuit brought by Dominion Voting Systems -- which accused the network of embracing/airing outright lies about their voting machines during the 2020 election.

If it had gone to trial, Tucker and several other FOX personalities would likely have been called to testify.

Tucker was a key figure in this litigation ... text messages of his were aired out during the discovery process, and he was found to have trashed Donald Trump in private to colleagues.
