Boxing legend Ricky Hatton says he has a lot in common with Conor McGregor -- and he's even got some advice for the UFC superstar.

Hatton was a damn good boxer back in the day -- racking up a 43-0 record before finally losing to Floyd Mayweather in 2007.

We asked how he felt about comparisons between him and Conor over the years -- and Hatton seems pretty flattered by it ... explaining why he thinks they're two of a kind.

BTW, Ricky has now transitioned into trainer -- and is getting Sergey Rabchenko ready for his big Showtime fight Saturday night at Barclays Center.

Muhammad Ali's legacy ... is in Flavor Flav's hands -- 'cause the rap legend tells TMZ Sports he's managing Muhammad's grandson's boxing career!

Flav was out in Bev Hills with TV pitchman Ron Popeil -- when he told us all about his 15-year-old prodigy Nico Ali Walsh ... a rising star in the sport (check out video below, he's in white trunks).

"The boy is good," Flav tells us ... "That's all I gotta tell you, he's good. Come see the fight."

Flav says Nico's fighting in L.A. on July 30th.

Flav's also a huge fan of Nico's brother, Biaggio -- a big-time high school football star and model ... who also happens to be Flav's godson.

47-year-old Roy Jones Jr. says he's finally ready to hang 'em up ... but he wants to go out by flooring 5 more fighters.

The boxing legend tells TMZ Sports he was inspired by the way Kobe Bryant called it quits this year -- and says he'd really like a farewell tour of his own.

In fact, RJJ says he wants to line up 5 more fights before the end of the year ... but he wants to take on guys he KNOWS he can beat.

"Five guys you should be able to deal with and call it a day."

Roy says nothing's in stone yet ... but he's definitely considering it.

Justin Bieber got in the ring over the weekend to fight ANOTHER big guy -- and it wasn't terrible.

One month after throwing down with a dude twice his size in Cleveland, Bieber rolled into the gym at the Chelsea Piers Sports Center to work on his David vs. Goliath game.

Sources at the gym tell us ... Bieber arrived to the gym with the other dude, who they kept calling "Doc" -- and they sparred for almost 3 hours.

We're told Bieber was super nice and didn't pull any diva antics -- he was like any other gymgoer.

As for the fighting ... Bieber's been training with Floyd Mayweather ... who told us the pop star "ain't no bitch."

Feldman says the fight won't be a cakewalk for Canseco ... Lohan is 3-0 in celeb boxing fights, beating up guys like reality star Jonny Fairplay.

Canseco is 5-1 in the celeb boxing world ... with victories over Danny Bonaduce and 'Real Housewives' alum Tareq Salahi.

Deontay Wilder Sues Disgraced Boxing Opponent Your Doping Test Cost Me Millions!

Heavyweight boxing champ Deontay Wilder is suing the man he was SUPPOSED to fight back in May -- claiming Alexander Povetkin's positive doping test cost him MILLIONS ... and he wants his money.

In a lawsuit obtained by TMZ Sports, Wilder claims he was guaranteed 70% of the $7.15 MILLION purse for the May 21st fight (math translation: $5 million).

Problem is ... Povetkin tested positive for the banned substance meldonium (the same stuff Maria Sharapova was using) and the fight was called off 6 days before the bout.

Wilder says he was suspicious that Povetkin was doping since he had traveled to Spain in the months before the fight ... and "[Spain is] notorious as an epicenter of doping."

Sources close to Wilder tell the the champ was PIIIIIIISSSSED in the days after the fight was cancelled -- and now we know why ... a $5 million loss would probably ruin your week too.

Shane Mosley Ordered to Fork Over $300k to Ex

Shane Mosley just got hit with a costly hook after a judge ordered him to hand over $300k to his ex-wife.

According to docs obtained by TMZ Sports ... Mosley must pay Jin Mosley $180k in back child support dating from December 2014 to November 2015. He also has to pony up almost $85k for his share of a tax debt the couple owed.

To add insult to injury, Shane's gotta pay Jin's attorney fees to the tune of $50,000.

It's been a nasty divorce since jump street -- as we've reported, Shane claims they were never really married since Jin two-timed him.

Adrien Broner Bowling Alley Accuser Drops Assault Suit

The man who sued Adrien Broner for beating him up and robbing him outside of a bowling alley has suddenly dropped the lawsuit ... TMZ Sports has learned.

According to docs filed in Cincinnati ... the man is dismissing the suit he brought against Broner, claiming the boxing great beat the crap of him and stole more than $12k. The whole altercation was allegedly over a bowling bet gone bad.

It's unclear why the alleged victim's had a change of heart, but Broner doesn't care much. His lawyer tells us he's "moving forward" ... and added he couldn't comment on the possibility that a settlement deal had been struck.

Broner's still facing criminal charges -- including felonious assault and aggravated robbery -- for the alleged incident. The trial is set to begin next month.

Floyd Mayweather's Dad Hospitalized In Vegas

Scary moment for Floyd Mayweather Sr. ... who was hospitalized in Vegas early this morning ... but appears to be okay now, TMZ Sports has learned.

We've confirmed ... emergency personnel responded to a call around 7:30 AM to a coffee shop. The 63-year-old was loaded into an ambulance and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

A rep for the Mayweather camp tells us Floyd Sr. was simply dehydrated and is doing much better now. We're told he's not expected to be held overnight.

Floyd Sr. was a pretty good boxer in his own right -- and fought Sugar Ray Leonard in 1978 (he lost though). He eventually became one of the biggest trainers in boxing.

An honest moment from legendary boxing trainer Freddie Roach -- who says he's sad about Muhammad Ali's death because it makes him think about "what I maybe have to look forward to."

Just like Ali, Roach has Parkinson's disease -- and while outside of Ecco in NYC, Roach told us the two actually bonded about their conditions when Ali came into his gym about 15 years ago.

"As soon as he started hitting the heavy bag, his tremors went away," Roach said ... "I said we have something in common, because when I do mitts, my tremors go away."

"I think it's more of our comfort zone. We're boxers, we're both very comfortable doing that."

He continued, "I'm a little bit sad that he passed away ... I wonder what I maybe have to look forward to sometimes."

Roach says he's hopeful ... noting they have made tremendous advancements in medicine and science.
