Kim Kardashian won't be wearing that $4 million stolen ring anytime soon -- or ever for that matter -- because authorities have told her there's virtually no chance of retrieving it.

Sources close to the investigation tell us Kim's legal team has been briefed by Parisian cops on the big break in the robbery case -- rounding up 17 suspects -- and they have made it clear the only way she'll ever see the bling again is in photos.

The cops say most diamonds the size of Kim's are immediately shipped off to Antwerp's diamond district in Belgium and then quickly disappear.

TMZ broke the story -- Kim submitted an insurance claim after the robbery listing her 20 carat emerald cut stone diamond ring at $4 million -- in total, 13 items totaling $5.6 mil were stolen.

Kim Kardashian has been truer to her word than we ever thought ... the bling around her neck has taken a nosedive from 7 figures to 3.

Kim vowed after her robbery in early October she would lose the expensive jewelry for good ... jewelry that exceeded $4 MILLION for certain pieces.

So check out the necklace she's been wearing lately. Turns out it's a custom piece from XIV Karats, which sells in the $500 range.

Kim’s stylist picked up the piece during the holidays, and we're told Kanye also made the trip and scored a bunch of zodiac signs he gifted to friends.

As we previously reported ... Kim said she was done flaunting her wealth on social media.

"MythBusters" star Grant Imahara just busted another myth ... nerds do score hot chicks, and he put a ring on his to seal the deal.

Grant popped the question to his longtime GF, Jennifer Newman, Wednesday night at Clifton's Cafeteria in downtown L.A. Most of the 250 guests thought they were there for Jennifer's surprise bday party, until Grant got down on bended knee.

As for the ring, it's a vintage 1.56 carat sparkler Grant found at an antique dealer in San Francisco for around $20k.

No wonder her answer was "F*** yeah!"

DJ Khaled's a key figure who requires da best of everything ... especially when it comes to telling time.

The rapper celebrated his 41st birthday over the weekend at Komodo Miami hosted by Haute Living. He was surrounded by da best of friends ... including Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe who gave him one of the ballest presents EVER.

The final product -- an 18k gold frame packed with 4.5 carats of VVS princess cut diamonds. It's sick.

Dang tells us the grill usually runs around $12k -- but Sanders got the friends and family discount.

It'll go perfect with ES' stacks of cash and gold chains.

Gucci Mane dominated the NBA Kiss Cam Tuesday night at the Atlanta Hawks game -- proposing to his GF with a diamond the size of a fist ... and the crowd went wild!!!

The lucky lady is Keyshia Ka'oir -- who first met Gucci on the set of one of his music videos in 2010.

The couple was sitting courtside when the kiss cam began to roll -- and though Gucci never got down on his knee, Keyshia didn't seem to mind once she saw that rock!!

As for the Hawks, they lost 112-94 to the Pelicans ... but the mascot didn't care -- he was going crazy over the action in the stands!
