Ray Rice Not Giving Up NFL Dream ... Despite Mentor Role

Just because he's giving life advice to NFL rookies doesn't mean Ray Rice has given up on his NFL dream -- with multiple sources close to the RB telling us he's still hoping to play this season.

Over the past few days, 29-year-old Rice returned to the Baltimore Ravens to advise the rookies about the importance of being a good person. He also spoke with the football team at Western Michigan.

Many people saw the moves as an indication he was finally ready to let his NFL dream go -- instead, exploring a career as a life coach or motivational speaker.

But we're told that's just not the case.

Our sources tell us Rice has been training like crazy -- keeping his body in NFL shape in case a team decides to kick the tires.

As one person put it -- "his primary focus is on himself, his family and educating others but he would still like to finish what he started."

REMEMBERING TRAY
Baltimore Ravens

If you have a couple minutes ... you should really watch this.

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh spoke at Tray Walker's funeral this weekend -- remembering his former player as a tough, sweet talented guy who didn't back down from anyone ... including future Hall of Famer WR Steve Smith.

It's clear Walker -- a defensive back -- made quite an impression on Harbaugh and several Ravens players (several attended the funeral including Steve Smith) ... before passing away in a motorcycle crash earlier this month.

Tray's family wanted the funeral to be more of a "celebration of life" -- and Harbaugh did a pretty great job painting a picture of a man who loved football and his family.

We know how much Walker loved the Ravens -- as we previously reported, his family bought a custom Ravens-themed casket for the 23-year-old.

An extraordinary guy deserves an extraordinary funeral ... so says the family of Ravens cornerback Tray Walker who ordered up a custom Ravens-themed casket for his final tribute.

TMZ Sports has learned ... Walker's family agreed to celebrate his life after he passed away from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash last week -- and wanted to make a statement with his casket.

So, the family contacted casket maker Trey Ganem and ordered something that would match Tray's flashy personality ... with Ravens logos, an NFL helmet and Louis Vuitton interior.

Ganem (who got permission from Tray's family to speak with us) says the price tag was about $16k -- but the family was happy to pay because Tray would have loved it.

Walker was laid to rest Saturday in Miami.

We spoke with Det. Pinkard who tells us the Miami Dade PD has received info about an unknown New England Patriots player who may know something ... but so far, they don't know if that information holds up.

We're told the crash was so serious, that the traffic homicide unit is leading the investigation. The traffic homicide unit handles all fatal and critical crashes.

As we previously reported, Walker -- a cornerback for the Baltimore Ravens -- was hospitalized Thursday night after his dirt bike collided with a 2014 Ford Escape. The other driver was not injured.

We're told, at this time, officials do not plan on charging the other driver with a crime.

Terrell Suggs Arrested In Arizona Suspended License, Leaving Crash Scene

8:02 AM PT -- The Scottsdale PD says Suggs told cops he fell asleep at the wheel before the crash ... and say he was also cited for leaving the scene of an accident.

Cops tell TMZ Sports ... they were called about a crash in a grocery store parking lot at 1:20 AM -- and when they got to the scene they found a "fluid trail" that led to Terrell's white BMW 750Li which had "fresh damage."

Cops investigated and determined "Suggs was not impaired and he stated that he possibly fell asleep before the collision."

"He was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a suspended driver’s license. He was later released from the jail."

Suggs' rep says ... Terrell did NOT leave the scene. "He walked over to a Mexican restaurant to call someone to come get him and was ticketed for leaving the scene."

"The grocery store and the Mexican restaurant are in the same shopping mall complex."

7:37 AM PT -- Suggs' rep tells us the NFL star did suffer a minor cut to his forehead during the crash ... but says he's fine.

Suggs also posted about the situation on Instagram saying:

"MooD:....... Driving with a suspended license!
Street Cred= 100,000 Trillion.
My bad Y'all.. Dumb Ass SiZ"

7:28 AM PT -- Suggs' rep Denise White just issued an official statement saying, "This morning Terrell Suggs was in a single car collision, no one was injured.

Police were called and upon speaking with Terrell found his license to be suspended for speeding tickets.

He was detained by the police and released a couple hours later. Terrell will let the judicial system take its course and fix his license issues."

7:11 AM PT -- A rep for Suggs tells us Terrell had gotten into a minor 1-car traffic accident earlier in the night -- no one was injured -- but someone heard it and called cops.

When cops arrived to the Mexican restaurant ... they spoke with Suggs and learned his license had previously been suspended. He was detained for a suspended license and nothing more.

We're told his suspended license was due to speeding tickets.

The rep says Suggs notified the team as soon as possible and Terrell says he plans to make things right regarding his license, ASAP.

Law enforcement confirms the Baltimore Ravens superstar was booked at 2:03 AM -- and released on citation at 3:21 AM.

Ravens Brandon Williams Alfonso Ribeiro Can't Touch This!

IT'S NOT UNUSUAL
Instagram

Oh, how the Baltimore Ravens have changed -- defensive tackle Brandon Williams' pregame pump up would bring tears to the eyes of Ray Lewis and Alfonso Ribeiro ... for very different reasons.

As our friends at BSO pointed out -- Williams did his best Carlton dance to show his excitement for the upcoming game against the Eagles. Look, we know a 335 pound lineman can celebrate anyway he wants ... but we can't see Lewis letting Brandon psych up the squad with this act.

That WOULD be unusual.

Ex-NFL Cheerleader Guilty of Raping 15-Year-Old Boy

An ex-NFL cheerleader has just pled guilty to raping a 15-year-old boy she spotted on Instagram ... and now could face up to 15 years in prison.

As we previously reported, 48-year-old Molly Shattuck -- who cheered for the Baltimore Ravens in '05 -- was indicted back in November for 2 counts of 3rd degree rape for incidents that took place in September '14.

Officials say Shattuck began seducing the boy back in May after she saw his picture on Instagram -- and first got physical with him in the back seat of her car in a middle school parking lot ... with kissing and touching.

But investigators say things escalated during Labor Day weekend ... when Molly seduced the boy at a rented beach house she was staying at with her own kids -- performing oral sex on him at least 2 times.

Now, we've learned Shattuck struck a plea deal with prosecutors in which she agreed to plead guilty to one count of rape in the 4th degree ... and could face up to 15 years in prison when sentenced in August.

NFL's Torrey Smith Ray Rice Deserves 2nd Chance 'Good People Make Mistakes'

Ray Rice has paid for his mistakes and deserves a 2nd shot in the NFL ... so says Ray's ex-Ravens teammate (and good friend) Torrey Smith who tells TMZ Sports he can still be one of the best RBs in the league.

Ray is training his ass off at the moment ... hoping a team will give him the opportunity to prove he can still compete at the highest level and sign him for the 2015 season.

The obstacle, of course, is his past -- and while Smith acknowledges what Ray did was "horrible," he believes Rice is truly sorry ... and has worked hard to become a better person.

"Good people make mistakes," Smith says ... "I believe in second chances and I think society is supposed to be built on the idea that you can suffer consequences and come back."

"People sometimes want you to apologize a certain way, crying or all upset. He's made things right with his wife and family and earned respect with his actions since the incident."

"He's a way better person than he showed on that tape."

Baltimore Ravens Stud Uncle Sam Wants Me To Help NSA Spies!!

The NSA has its eyes on Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman John Urschel -- but this is a good thing ... 'cause the guy is so damn brilliant, the government desperately needs his help.

TMZ Sports has learned the National Security Agency -- yes, the guys who track down terrorists -- recruited Urschel after seeing the skills he displayed while working toward a Ph.D in math.

It's pretty amazing, and kinda 'Beautiful Mind'-y -- but Urschel actually schooled NSA agents last week ... delivering a lecture filled with a bunch of math stuff way above our pay grade and education.

But we're told John killed it ... explaining an algorithm he created that -- in layman's terms -- allows the agency to take a lot of complicated data, and present it in terms mortals can understand. Kinda like super math for super dummies.

Urschel tells us he was pumped about his presentation, and says after the NFL ... he's open to doing more with the NSA. However he adds, "I'd have to weigh it with other opportunities ... such as being a professor, being a researcher, or working in the industry."

Our brains hurt.

Terrell Suggs on Deflategate: Patriots Got Off Way Easy

REMEMBER THAT?
TMZSports.com

We already know he doesn't like Tom Brady ... and Tom Brady's hair -- but now it seems NFL superstar Terrell Suggs doesn't like TB's Deflategate punishment either.

The Baltimore Ravens stud was leaving Mastro's Steakhouse in Bev Hills last night when we asked if the Pats got what they deserved -- $1 million fine, loss of draft picks and the 4-game suspension for Brady.

Sugg's response -- "I don't know. That's not my job. I'm glad I don't got it ... but the last coach that got caught cheating got suspended for a whole year. So ..."

Seems he's strongly suggesting Brady and the gang got off SUPER EASY compared to New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton who was banned from the league for the entire 2013 season for allegedly covering up Bountygate, where players targeted opponents for cash bonuses.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft says he will NOT appeal the team's punishment ... maybe he sees Terrell's point -- it could've been worse.

Ray Rice Domestic Violence Wiped From His Record

Ray Rice is officially no longer a domestic violence offender -- the charges from the elevator beating of his then-fiancee have been dismissed and expunged.

The former Baltimore Ravens star completed a pretrial intervention program, and the Atlantic County D.A. sent a dismissal order to the court. Judge Michael A. Donio signed the order early Thursday morning.

As we previously reported, Rice struck a deal with prosecutors -- he was initially indicted on a charge of felony aggravated assault, but the D.A. lowered that to simple assault, a misdemeanor. The deal was controversial ... especially after TMZ Sports first posted the video of Rice inside a casino elevator, brutally knocking Janay Palmer unconscious.

According to docs, Rice was in the supervised intervention program for 12 months. He also had to pay a $125 fine.

So, Rice has now put the criminal case behind him -- and late last year NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell reinstated him, but Rice has not been picked up by a team yet.

Ex-Ravens RB Arrested In Florida In Alleged Check Bouncing Scam

Former Baltimore Ravens running back Damien Berry -- who started for the Miami Hurricanes in 2010 -- was arrested this morning in Florida ... after allegedly bouncing more than $100k in bad checks.

TMZ Sports has confirmed ... the 25-year-old, who was part of the Ravens 2013 Super Bowl championship team, is currently locked up in Lee County jail on a warrant from Maryland.

We're told Berry is facing 1 count of bouncing a check over $100k and 1 count of unauthorized removal of property.

In other words, it seems like officials believe he bought something with bad checks ... and illegally took possession of the goods.

Berry recently came under fire in Baltimore ... after it was reported he sold his Super Bowl ring to an auction house ... reports that Berry initially denied.
