Jimmy Kimmel came out with his gloves on to open the 90th Academy Awards ... beating on Harvey Weinstein and Vice President Mike Pence.

Kimmel -- who's hosting the Oscars again this year -- dove straight into the #TimesUp and #MeToo controversies to kick of the award show Sunday, taking aim at Weinstein and the VP in a blistering monologue.

He compared HW's expulsion from the Academy to another that was much less scandalous ... Carmine Caridi, who got kicked out for sharing screeners. He also joked that the cleanup in Hollywood now only left women vulnerable to harassment literally everywhere else.

The comedian also went in on Pence -- joking that Timothee Chalamet's nominated film "Call Me By Your Name" didn't get made for money, but rather "to upset Mike Pence." The film's about a summer fling between a male teen and young man in Italy.

Pence is known to have embraced conversion therapy for gay people ... so the implication was the opposite of subtle.

2018 Oscars #NeverAgain Student Leaders Won't Be Attending

The faces of the #NeverAgain movement won't appear at the Oscars Sunday, a decision that will surely keep their strong, pure message far far away from "Hollywood."

Oscar production sources tell us familiar faces like Emma Gonzalez, Jaclyn Corin, Alex Wing, Cameron Kasky and David & Lauren Hogg didn't get an invite to Sunday's big event ... for good reason.

People organizing the student marches tell us the kids would likely have turned down invitations to the Academy Awards ... it's just not the time or place given the importance of the movement.

TMZ broke the story ... George Clooney and Scooter Braun have been working behind the scenes organizing the March For Our Lives later this month in D.C. Our sources say the two Hollywood heavyweights have chosen to remain in the shadows to keep the focus on the kids.

Our sources say at this time it's unclear if Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel will make any mention of gun control or the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

Academy Awards Best, Worst, Most Shocking Moments In Oscars History!!!

From jam-packed celeb selfies and emotional speeches, to Best Picture announcement screw-ups -- Oscar's had some entertaining moments ... especially when they're not scripted.

We've gathered the Academy's most talked about moments over the past 90 years -- like that time Marlon Brando refused his Oscar, and when Jennifer Lawrence fell walking up the stairs to accept hers.

And, of course, we couldn't leave out Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway's infamous flub -- 'cause ya gotta relive that one before Sunday night. Did you hear they're getting a second chance to nail it?

Should be fun!

Cadillac's Pre-Oscars Party McHale, Silverman, Haddish Bring LOL Material!!!

Joel McHale and Sarah Silverman are proof hilarious minds also think alike.

Joel and Sarah were part of the huge wave of celebs at Cadillac's Pre-Oscars bash Thursday night at the famed Chateau Marmont on the Sunset Strip. They both stopped to hang with fans, sign some autographs and dropped some self-deprecating humor.

Tiffany Haddish had some fashion tips for Oscar weekend, but honestly, as soon as we hear her voice ... we wanna crack up. Margot Robbie, Christa B. Allen, Will Arnett, Marisa Tomei, Allison Janney and many more get some face time in this video.

Bonus: Sam Rockwell's dog dropping a deuce. It doesn't appear Sam or his pup were attending the party.

Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway We're Back Presenting Best Picture We Won't Screw Up Twice!!!

After the real-life disaster at last year's Oscars, the Academy feels the best way to make sure the proper people accept the award for Best Picture -- bring back the ones who screwed it up ... because TMZ has learned Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway will do the honors again!!!

Our Oscar sources tell us Warren and Faye both just showed up at the Dolby Theatre and rehearsed the big moment. We're told they were shuffled onstage together very quickly to run through their bit. They went through their lines twice. She began by saying, "Presenting is better the second time around," Beatty followed up with, "The winner is 'Gone with the Wind.'"

We're told the writers are still putting finishing touches on their lines.

THE MAJOR MIX-UP
ABC

You'll recall last year, we reported Warren and Faye had so much animosity toward each other they refused to rehearse onstage together. That set up the debacle when Faye opened the envelope and announced "La La Land" as the winner. Once on stage, they were sent packing when the producer of the movie announced the screw up -- that "Moonlight" actually was the winner.

Donald Trump Nobel Peace Prize Nom ... Possibly Fake News!!!

Donald Trump's been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize, the second consecutive year that's happened, but there's a problem -- his nominator might not be on the up and up.

The Prez reportedly got the nom from an anonymous American for his "ideology of peace by force" -- which sounds like an oxymoron -- but Nobel peeps were suspicious. Institute Director Olav Njolstad filed a police report because he thinks there's good reason to believe Trump's nomination is "a fake." He added, that's probably how the Prez got nominated last year, too.

Here's the issue -- the process for nominating Peace Prize candidates is highly restricted and limited to government officials, former laureates and some professors.

Njolstad's concern seems to be that Trump's nom was entered by someone without proper cred ... hence the call for cops to track down the source.

Sounds like 45 is a serious long shot to win.

Kate Middleton Time Was Up for BAFTA Dress Change ... She's Preggo, After All

Kate Middleton was fighting the clock when she put on her green gown for the BAFTA Awards -- instead of black -- and her pregnancy made a switch near impossible.

Royals expert Katie Nicholl -- who wrote the book, "Kate: The Future Queen" -- tells us the Duchess of Cambridge was in a "no-win situation" Sunday with her wardrobe choice. She was criticized for going against the suggested Time's Up all-black dress code -- but Nicholl says Kate's dress was likely pre-ordered months ago and custom-made with her pregnancy in mind.

Point is ... the dress would've been chosen way before the Time's Up's buzz began in late 2017, and would preclude a last-minute wardrobe change.

There's also this -- Nicholl says members of the Royal family are encouraged to avoid political statements. That could be at play, but taking a stand against sexual harassment -- as tons of celebs have during award season -- hardly seems like a controversial stance.

So, we're going maternity dress issues for the win.

Kate Middleton at BAFTA Awards A Little Green on Time's Up? Breaks All-Black Dress Code

Kate Middleton either wasn't aware or simply didn't care about the suggested all-black dress code for Time's Up at the BAFTA Awards -- 'cause she went another way.

Kate and Prince William attended the annual award show Sunday in England, hitting the red carpet in a dark green gown while her hubby rocked a classic black tux.

It's a notable fashion choice, especially since most of the big stars of the night stuck to the blackout we saw during the Golden Globes. Actresses that wore black include Angelina Jolie, Margot Robbie, Jennifer Lawrence, Naomie Harris, Lupita Nyong'o, Salma Hayek, Octavia Spencer and others.

Whether she didn't get the memo, or just didn't want to weigh in on a controversial issue ... Kate definitely made a statement.

Barack & Michelle Obama Portraits Unveiled at Smithsonian Thanks Painter for Capturing Hot Wife!!!

Barack Obama's still as smooth as ever ... hailing 2 women -- including his wife -- with a single breath.

Barack and Michelle Obama were at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Monday in D.C. for the unveiling of their portraits. The former Prez had high praise for Amy Sherald and thanked her for "capturing the hotness of the woman I love." Smooth. Kehinde Wiley painted 44's portrait.

Michelle's wearing a dress by Michelle Smith's label, Milly. Her painting also features Sherald's gray skin tones. Obama's painting features the official flower of Chicago and African blue lilies are a nod to his late Kenyan-born father, Barack Sr.

Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks were also in attendance. The paintings will join the “America’s Presidents” exhibition and will be available for public viewing beginning Tuesday.

Quavo NYPD Ready to Arrest Him ... Rapper Says, I'm Innocent!!!

Quavo is about to get a new wrist accessory -- handcuffs -- law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

Our sources tell TMZ ... NYPD detectives have gotten in contact with the Migos rapper's attorney, Drew Findling, informing him they have enough evidence to arrest Quavo. We're told an arrest warrant hasn't been issued but it's only a matter of time.

Findling tells us his client's an innocent man and hopes for the sake of the NYPD and the Manhattan DA's office, they don't embarrass themselves by hooking his client up and prosecuting him.

TMZ broke the story ... Quavo allegedly beat the crap out of Eric the Jeweler when he tried to collect on Offset's $10k tab. Sources say Quavo and another man jumped Eric and jacked his $30k chain.

Findling's adamant ... "this is yet another example of a young African-American hip hop star potentially being treated unfairly by the criminal justice system."

Kobe Bryant Sits Front & Center at Oscars Lunch ... In Front of Meryl Streep!

Kobe Bryant got the All-Star treatment at the Oscars lunch on Monday -- getting the prime front row seat for the official group photo ... despite the fact he towers over EVERYONE there!

He's in front of huge stars like Margot Robbie, Saoirse Ronan, Mary J. Blige, Kumail Nanjiani, Guillermo del Toro, Laura Dern ... EVEN MERYL FRICKIN' STREEP!

Then again, she's been in like 50 Oscars lunch photos ... so, maybe they wanted to switch it up.

The Mamba's been nominated for Best Animated Short for "Dear Basketball" -- and he's clearly enjoying everything that goes along with being a nominee ... including free lunch!

Lil Uzi Vert Grammys Style Got $350k Last-Minute Assist

Lil Uzi Vert didn't take home a Grammy this year ... but he dominated the bling game by rolling into the show with more than a quarter mil around his neck.

The rapper -- who was nominated for Best New Artist, but lost to Alessia Cara -- went to the Grammys donning a custom 60-carat upside-down cross wrapped in a gold and diamond vine ... hanging from an 80-carat diamond chain.

We're told Lil Uzi reached out to celeb jeweler, Elliot Avianne of Avianne & Co Jewelers, 3 months ago to get it made ... and dropped about $350k on the piece.

We're told it was finished just 3 hours before the show and hand-delivered to him -- just in time for him to walk the red carpet ... and give this hilariously awkward interview.

Logic's Grammy Performance Tripled Calls To National Suicide Prevention Lifeline

Logic's live performance of his song "1-800-273-8255" with Alessia Cara and Khalid at the Grammys wasn't just moving ... it probably helped save many lives.

A spokesperson for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline tells TMZ ... in the 2 hours after the rapper performed his hit track -- the title of which is the number to the lifeline -- the national network answered 3 times the typical amount of calls in the 2-hour window.

The NSPL says Logic's performance was "an incredible moment in suicide prevention," and he helped demonstrate worldwide that "healing is happening every day for people in crisis, and that there is help available.”

When the song was originally released in April 2017, calls to the Lifeline increased by 50 percent ... and there was a similar boost when he performed it at the VMAs in August.

Sarah Silverman PETA Pissed About Grammy Puppy Consolation Prize? Who Gives a F***!!!

BARKIN' UP THE WRONG TREE

Sarah Silverman rolled her eyes at PETA for pissing on the puppy gag at the Grammys.

We got the funny lady Tuesday at LAX and asked about PETA bitching that James Corden handed out pups as a consolation prize. PETA thinks it was wrong to put the dogs under bright lights and it sent a bad message that dogs are prizes rather than family members.

Sarah scared us by suggesting a dead dog was tucked inside her backpack. Fact is, she walks the walk as a vegetarian and has a message for the animal rights org.

Logan Paul has music on the brain after Sunday night's Grammys, but he's also not trying to hide from the heinous footage he posted of a suicide victim ... and the backlash that followed.

We got the YouTube star at LAX, and it was clear he'd been inspired after watching the music awards show because he was spitting random rap rhymes by Cardi B and Lil Uzi Vert into the convo.

Still, Logan seems focused on learning from his mistakes, and teaching other YouTubers to do better.

Donald Glover Bows Down to Jamie Foxx ... For Now, At Least

WISER WITH AGE
TMZ.com

Donald Glover admits Jamie Foxx has a leg up on him in the talent department, but adds it's just a matter of time ... Father Time.

We got the "Atlanta" star wearing a mask (the flu's no joke, folks) at LAX Monday and straight-up asked ... who's better? Fair question. Donald's hauled in multiple Emmys, a Golden Globe and a Grammy. Jamie, of course, has an Oscar, Golden Globe and a Grammy.

Donald breaks down the comparison and basically says it all comes down to 2 numbers -- 34 and 50, their respective ages. Still, Donald admits there IS one thing at which he sucks.
